Our Monster Hunter Wilds guide will tell you how to get the Armorcharm and Powercharm and how to use them.

How to get Armorcharm in Monster Hunter Wilds

To get the Armorcharm in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to reach High Rank and progress to Chapter 4 to unlock the Suja area. Then, speak to Cobb in Suja to receive the optional quest “Secure Wounded Hollow,” which requires defeating two Hirabami monsters in the Wounded Hollow arena. After successfully completing this challenging quest, return to Cobb to receive the Armorcharm as a reward. This charm provides a valuable defense boost of 12 points when kept in your item pouch during hunts, enhancing your survivability significantly.

To get the Armorcharm in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to complete “Secure Wounded Hollow” quest. You get this quest from Cobb in Suja, Peaks of Accord, in High Rank, and as part of it, you’ll head into the High Rank area of Wounded Hollow. In that region’s arena, you’ll have to take on a pair of Hirabami.

To complete the quest, there’s a mechanical wall that runs across the middle. There are four activation levers, one at either end on either side of the wall, that you can activate by hand or with your hook slinger. If you time it carefully, this wall will let you take on only one of the Hirabami at a time.

It won’t stay up long enough for you to kill one of them, but it’ll let you get some solid damage in without being harassed. After a short reset, you can trigger the wall again.

Once it’s completed, you’ll need to talk to Cobb again to get theArmorcharm. You’ll only see a brief message about it on the right side of your screen, then it just kind of disappears in your item box.

When you’re done, head over to Rex to get another quest, “As Gatekeeper,” that you’ll need for.

How to get Powercharm in Monster Hunter Wilds

To get the Powercharm in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to complete the optional quest “As Gatekeeper,” which becomes available after you finish the quest “Secure Wounded Hollow” and meet the NPC Rex in Suja, Peaks of Accord. This quest requires you to hunt two Ajarakan monsters in the Wounded Hollow arena. After defeating them, return to Rex to receive the Powercharm as a reward. The Powercharm provides a passive boost of +6 to your attack power when kept in your item pouch, enhancing your damage output without needing to be actively used.

To get the Powercharm in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to complete optional quest “As Gatekeeper.” You will unlock this quest from completing “Secure Wounded Hollow”, which you’ll need to source an Armorcharm from as described above.

You’ll get “As Gatekeeper” from Rex, who is wearing the same armor as Cobb, in Wounded Hollow, which sees you head back into the Wounded Hollow arena to take on a pair of Ajarakan.

For the fight, don’t forget about the mechanical wall you can use to separate the two Ajarakans, just like you did with the Hirabami. When you’re done, talk to Rex again to get the Powercharm.

How to use the Armorcharm and Powercharm

To use the Armorcharm and Powercharm in Monster Hunter Wilds, simply keep them in your item pouch after acquiring them through specific side missions. The Armorcharm boosts your defense by a flat +12, while the Powercharm increases your attack by +6 raw value. These items do not require active use; their effects are automatically applied as long as they remain in your pouch, providing a consistent stat boost during hunts without occupying your item bar space. To obtain them, complete the “Secure Wounded Hollow” quest from Cobb to get the Armorcharm and the “As Gatekeeper” quest from Rex to receive the Powercharm, then transfer them from your item box to your pouch to benefit from their bonuses.

When you get them as rewards, both the Armorcharm and the Powercharm will get dropped into your item box. For them to help you, though, you’ll need to move them to your item pouch.

You don’t actually use the Armorcharm or Powercharm as items, as you get the benefits just by having them in your item pouch. They’ll take up a slot, but they do not get added to your item bar.

What secret strategies can help me farm Armorcharm and Powercharm faster in Wilds

Secret Strategies to Farm Armorcharm and Powercharm Faster in Monster Hunter Wilds

  • Focus on Weakness Exploitation: When hunting the monsters required for these charms-Hirabami for the Armorcharm and Ajarakan for the Powercharm-use elemental weapons that exploit their weaknesses. Hirabami is especially vulnerable to Fire and Thunder weapons, while Ajarakan is weak to Ice and Water. Choosing the right element significantly speeds up the fights.

  • Accept and Start the Quests, Then End Early: You do not need to fully complete the hunts to get the charms. Once the quest starts and the monsters are marked, you can end the quest immediately and still receive the Armorcharm or Powercharm as a reward. This tactic allows you to farm these charms quickly by repeatedly accepting and partially completing the quests.

  • Utilize Group Play: Fighting these monsters is easier and faster when done in a group. Coordinating with others can help you dispatch the monsters more efficiently, reducing the time needed per run.

  • Save Charms in Your Loadout: After obtaining the charms, make sure to place them in your item pouch and save your loadout. This prevents accidentally removing them during restocks, ensuring you always benefit from their passive stat boosts.

  • Progression Tips: The Armorcharm quest unlocks at Hunter Rank 16 and the Powercharm at Hunter Rank 21. Prioritize reaching these ranks to unlock the quests and start farming the charms as soon as possible.

By combining these strategies-targeting elemental weaknesses, ending quests early, playing in groups, and managing your inventory smartly-you can efficiently farm the Armorcharm and Powercharm to boost your attack and defense in Monster Hunter Wilds.

What are the most efficient quests to farm Armorcharm and Powercharm quickly

The most efficient quests to farm the Armorcharm and Powercharm quickly in Monster Hunter Wilds are the optional quests “Secure Wounded Hollow” and “As Gatekeepers,” both located in Suja, Peaks of Accord and fought in the Wounded Hollow arena.

  • Armorcharm: Obtain it by completing the “Secure Wounded Hollow” quest from Cobb, which requires hunting two Hirabami simultaneously. Focus on killing one Hirabami first, then the other, and use the central arena gate to create space when needed. You can end the quest early after starting it and still receive the Armorcharm as a reward, speeding up farming.

  • Powercharm: Get it by completing the “As Gatekeepers” quest from Rex, involving hunting two Ajarakan at the same time. This fight is tougher, so use the arena gate to separate the monsters and play defensively against their powerful attacks. Like the Armorcharm quest, you can also end this quest early and still claim the Powercharm reward.

Both quests unlock after progressing through the main story and reaching Hunter Rank 16 for Armorcharm and Hunter Rank 21 for Powercharm. Farming these quests repeatedly by accepting and ending them early is the fastest way to acquire these essential charms.
