There are five different promo cards you can earn as part of the “Cresselia ex Drop Event.” Here they all are:
- Turtwig is a basic grass-type Pokémon with 80 HP. It can use the attack Bite and it does 30 damage. Chomp chomp!
- Electivire is a stage-1 electric-type Pokémon with 120 HP and a retreat cost of three energy. It can use the attack Exciting Voltage, which has a base power of 40 and does an additional 80 damage if it has two or more extra electric energy attached to it.

How to get all ’Cresselia ex Drop Event’ cards
To get all the ’Cresselia ex Drop Event’ cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket, participate in the Solo Battle event running from February 3 to February 17, 2025. You earn Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4 packs by winning battles against AI opponents, with each battle costing one token of Event Stamina that regenerates over time or can be replenished with Event Hourglasses. Promo packs contain one of five unique promo cards, including Cresselia ex, Electivire, Misdreavus, Skarmory, and Turtwig. Playing on Expert difficulty significantly increases your chances of receiving a promo pack after each victory. To maximize your rewards, focus on building a strong Darkness-type deck to counter the Psychic-type opponents in the event. Keep in mind that Event Hourglasses do not expire and can be saved for additional attempts if needed.

You earn cards by opening cards from Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4. These packs contain one promo card per pack and have a pink wrapper exterior. You earn them by completing the battles in the “Cresselia ex Drop Event.” One battle requires one token of Event Stamina, which recharges passively over time or can be replenished with Event Hourglass.
You aren’t guaranteed to win a promo pack for each battle challenge you win: The promo card packs are listed in the game as a “chance reward” for every single battle. However, in AELGAMES’s experience, we had a much higher chance of earning one from finishing battles on the “Expert” difficulty. In fact, it rewarded us with a promo pack every time we beat the bot on that level.
Best decks for the ’Cresselia ex Drop Event’
The best decks for the ’Cresselia ex Drop Event’ in Pokémon TCG Pocket leverage Cresselia ex’s strong healing ability and tankiness, making it a resilient centerpiece. A highly recommended deck pairs Cresselia ex with Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir, where Cresselia ex acts as a durable tank that heals 20 damage each time Psychic Energy is attached, while Mewtwo ex delivers powerful attacks. This deck often includes support cards like Rocky Helmet to absorb damage and accelerate energy attachment through Gardevoir, enhancing survivability and offense. Alternative effective decks include a Magnezone lineup that uses Psychic Energy to stall and build up bench attackers, and a Mismagius ex deck that confuses opponents and stalls with self-healing Pokémon. Overall, these decks focus on outlasting opponents through healing and strategic energy management, making Cresselia ex a formidable force in the event.
There are four difficulty levels in the “Cresselia ex Drop Event”: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. The deck-building advice below will set you up to tackle the Expert difficulty, so you can breeze through the easier difficulties using the advice below.
The decks in the Cresselia ex-event all use psychic-type Pokémon. Safe to say, we’ll want to use a deck mainly comprised of dark-types to exploit the type weakness. Here are all the cards we used to build a deck:
- Darkai ex is an obvious choice if you’re lucky enough to have it. It can easily eat away damage in the background with its Nightmare Aura ability and then be switched in to use its Dark Prism attack that has a base attack of 80 HP.
- Similarly, along these lines, Weavile ex (evolved from Sneasel) is another fancy choice. It synergizes well with Darkrai ex. Its move, Scratching Nails, has a base attack of 30 and it deals an additional 40 damage if the Pokémon you’re attacking already has damage on it.
- Koffing and Weezing are also a fantastic way to go. The Cresselia decks rely on a lot of basic Pokémon like Raltz and Misdreavus that have 60 HP. Using the Gas Leak ability to poison it to do ten damage, and then using tackle with a base attack of 30 knocks em’ out before your computer opponent can set anything up.
- You don’t need to overthink it. Poochyena and Mightyena are also solid evolutionary line here as well. Mightyena’s Darkness Fang does 60 base damage and 90 damage with the type weakness.
- Pokémon Tool cards are going to be a major boon for you during this event. They essentially make all those less rare Pokémon a lot more formidable. The Giant Cape ups a Pokémon’s HP by 20 and the Rocky Helmet does 20 damage to the opponent’s Pokémon each time it attacks you. Both pair well with options like Weezing and Mightyena.
- The trainer cards Sabrina and Cyrus are also solid options since they allow you to force switches. They are especially helpful when paired with non-ex cards like Mightyena and Weezing. Weaker cards benefit from controlling the field a bit. They can either allow you to take on a weaker opponent, or stall until you’re ready to face stronger cards Mismagius ex or Cresseilia ex.
What makes the Cresselia ex Drop Event cards so sought after in Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Cresselia ex Drop Event cards are highly sought after in Pokémon TCG Pocket because Cresselia ex itself offers a unique blend of healing and offense that stands out in the current meta. Its Lunar Plumage ability heals 20 HP each time a Psychic Energy is attached, effectively offsetting chip damage and status effects, while its Psychic Flash attack deals solid 80 damage for three Energy. This combination makes Cresselia ex a durable and versatile card, ideal for occupying the Active Spot and synergizing well with popular Psychic-type decks like Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir. Moreover, the event-exclusive nature of Cresselia ex, similar to the earlier Lapras ex, adds rarity and desirability, as it cannot be obtained outside this event. The event also features other unique promo cards and alternate art reprints, enhancing its appeal to collectors and competitive players alike.
Why is Cresselia ex considered more valuable than other promo cards in the event
Cresselia ex is considered more valuable than the other promo cards in the Drop Event because it is a brand-new, exclusive ex card with unique and powerful mechanics that significantly impact gameplay. Unlike the other promos, which are mostly alternate art reprints or minor upgrades, Cresselia ex features the Lunar Plumage ability, which heals 20 HP each time a Psychic Energy is attached, providing sustained durability throughout the match. Its Psychic Flash attack deals a solid 80 damage for three Energy, making it both a resilient and offensively capable card. This combination makes Cresselia ex a perfect tank and support Pokémon in Psychic-type decks, especially synergizing well with popular cards like Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir. Additionally, like the earlier Lapras ex event card, Cresselia ex is only obtainable through this limited-time event, adding rarity and exclusivity that heightens its desirability among players and collectors.
