Wild Hearts Roller and Water-wheel Motorcycle Karakuri Guide All Abilities

Guides

The Wild Hearts Roller motorcycle isn’t just another ride-it’s a trophy of skill and precision. Hidden behind challenging Karakuri trials and fierce beasts, this sleek machine rewards those who master the right techniques and materials. Here’s how to claim it and tear through Azuma with unstoppable speed.

Our Wild Hearts Roller guide will explain what you need to do to unlock the monowheel motorcycle and when it becomes available.

How to unlock the Roller Dragon Karakuri in Wild Hearts

Reach the end of Chapter 2 “Ancient Technology” and defeat the Deathstalker at Fuyufusagi Fort to gain access to the Roller Dragon Karakuri. A notification confirms its availability, along with components harvested from the Kemono. Build it at any Dragon Pit using 40 fire for a durable monowheel vehicle suited to roads and paths.

Like several other aspects of Wild Hearts, the Roller Dragon Karakuri is gated by your story progress. You will need to progress to the end of Chapter 2 “Ancient Technology” and defeat the Deathstalker in Fuyufusagi Fort.

You’ll actually get the notification that you’ve unlocked the Roller along with all the parts you cut off of the Deathstalker.

How to build a Roller dragon karakuri in Wild Hearts

To build the Roller dragon karakuri, you first need to gather the right resources and have enough Dragon Pit capacity. Once you’ve obtained the blueprint during the story progression, access your karakuri menu and choose the Roller from the list. Place it on flat terrain for the best performance, then fuel it with dragon energy so it can operate smoothly. The Roller allows faster ground travel and can be summoned again at other camps once its build conditions are met.

The Roller is a Dragon Karakuri, which means it’ll draw from the nearest Dragon Pit when built. The Roller requires 40 fire to build. It’s not cheap, but quite a few Dragon Pits will support one.

The Roller Dragon Karakuri is a stand that you’ll interact with to launch your fancy new ride. The Roller is not quite as fast as a Flying Vine, but it has a limitless range (unlike the Flying Vine or Glider, for example). They can take a beating and even damage or kill small Kemono when you run them over (don’t ask how we found this out).

You can drop quite a way without damaging one, but it will shatter if you run into a giant Kemono or drive straight into a cliff face. You also can’t jump in one, so it’s best to stick to roads and paths.

How to defeat Death Stalker in Wild Hearts

Deathstalker is a fast ice-type wolf Kemono; beating it is mostly about preparation, reading its big attacks, and abusing traps and Fusion Karakuri.

Preparation (gear and setup)

  • Use a fire-element weapon or a strong physical weapon; Deathstalker has a notable weakness to fire but also takes good physical damage if your gear is upgraded.

  • Bring armor with high ice resistance (for example, sets built from earlier ice or water monsters) and prioritize health and defense skills.

  • Cook food that boosts health and ice resistance before the hunt; this makes its AoE ice and chip damage much more manageable.

Core tactics and positioning

  • Stay near its flanks and tail; its most dangerous moves are frontal pounces, cone ice waves, and leaping slams, while the tail and rear give you more punish windows.

  • Learn to sidestep its cone attacks: when it sends ice or mist in a cone along the ground, dodge immediately left or right instead of rolling straight back.

  • Watch for the red “charge-up” ring around it (Nova-style AoE); as soon as you see this, sprint or dodge far away to avoid the erupting ice around its body.

Karakuri and Fusion Karakuri to use

  • Chain Trap (fusion of stakes and other basics) is extremely strong: bait Deathstalker into it, then unload combos on its head and tail while it’s immobilized.

  • Bulwark (crate wall) stops its straight-line charges and gives you a brief stagger window; pre-build these when you have a quiet moment in the arena.

  • Mega Hammer-type Fusion Karakuri (built from stacked components) can heavily stagger or briefly stun it if timed when it’s recovering from big moves.

Reading its big moves

  • Paw slam into wide AoE: when it raises a paw and slams, expect either an immediate shockwave or a follow-up Nova; dodge out, then punish after the ice settles.

  • Vertical leap and slam: when it jumps straight up, move well away or use Spring/Glider to get clear, then re-engage after the impact.

  • Fast ice charge: it may ride a frozen wave and dash at you; either build Bulwark in its path or dodge through/sideways rather than away.

Extra survival tips

  • If you struggle with melee, consider a ranged option like the Repeater Bow and fight around pre-placed traps and turrets for safer damage.

  • Don’t be afraid to call for co-op help; multiple hunters can stagger-lock Deathstalker with overlapping traps and walls, making the fight far easier.

Death Stalker item drops and rewards

Deathstalker mostly drops ice-aligned forging materials used for late-chapter weapons and armor, plus standard hunt rewards.

Main material types

  • Deathstalker Pelts: Core forging material for Deathstalker-themed armor pieces and some weapons; obtained from hunting Deathstalker or as post-hunt rewards.

  • Deathstalker-specific monster parts (claws, fangs, etc.): Used for higher-tier weapon trees and armor upgrades that emphasize ice resistance and survivability.

  • Brumal Wind Crystals: Rare drop from Deathstalker and other Fuyufusagi Fort kemono, used for advanced upgrades and some late-game crafts.

General hunt rewards

  • Gold/coin payout at the end of the hunt, scaling with performance and completion.

  • Kemono Orbs and similar universal upgrade currencies from a successful hunt, used to unlock and upgrade Karakuri and skills.

  • Chance at additional rare materials when you break specific parts (head, tail, limbs) during the fight, so focusing on part breaks increases your total rewards per hunt.
