When does the Concord open beta end?

The Concord open beta ends on July 21, 2024. It runs from July 18 to July 21 and is available to all players on PlayStation 5 and PC, following the Early Access beta that took place from July 12 to July 14. During the open beta, players can experience all 16 Freegunners, multiple game modes, and several maps, with progress carrying over from the Early Access beta but not to the full game launch on August 23, 2024.

Concord’s open beta runs through Sunday, July 21, though neither developer Firewalk Studios nor publisher PlayStation Studios have announced a specific end time.

For context, the early access beta ended at 3 pm ET on Monday, July 15, but only because Firewalk Twitter its availability – so it’s possible the same might happen here.

What to expect from the Concord open beta

The Concord open beta offers players a comprehensive preview of the game with access to all 16 Freegunners, four maps (Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, Shock Risk), and four game modes including Trophy Hunt, Cargo Run, Clash Point, and the exclusive Area Control mode available only during the open beta. Players can explore the Concord galaxy, try out different playstyles, and experience the first cinematic vignettes introducing the Northstar crew’s story. The beta runs from July 18 to 21 on PC and PlayStation 5, with pre-download available starting July 17. Progress from the beta carries over between early access and open beta weekends but will reset at full launch on August 23. Participants also earn exclusive in-game rewards such as a Frog weapon charm and Star Flare business card.

Everything from the early access beta will be playable during the open beta, plus one additional map and one additional mode. For the open beta, that means you’ll have access to:

  • 16 characters (or “freegunners,” to use the game’s parlance)
  • Five maps, including the four from the early access beta (Freewater, Water Hazard, Star Chamber, Shock Risk) plus one new one (Bone Mines)
  • Four modes: Trophy Hunt, that’s the closest thing to a typical deathmatch; Cargo Run, a mode without respawns that requires capturing and defending a zone; Clash Point, another mode without respawns that’s contingent on fighting the enemy team for control of a single area; and the newly added Area Control, that’s basically a multi-zone king of the hill (with respawns)

Does Concord progress carry over?

Progress in the Concord beta carries over from the Early Access weekend to the Open Beta weekend, allowing players to maintain their progress between these two testing phases. However, this progress will not transfer to the full game upon its official launch. Players will need to start fresh when the game releases on August 23, 2024. This means that while you can build up your characters and unlock rewards during the beta weekends, none of this will affect your status or items in the final version of Concord.

If you played the early access beta, your progress will carry over to the open beta.
