Hidden across Lumiose City’s wild outskirts, the elemental monkeys-Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour-wait for keen-eyed trainers to uncover their secret habitats. Here’s where to find each one in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and add all three to your team before anyone else does.

Where to find Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour can be found by searching trees and rooftops around Lumiose City, with Jaune Sector 4 being a particularly reliable area to encounter all three. These Pokémon often appear in the treetops along Hibernal Avenue and in select city clearings, such as rooftops accessible in Bleu Sector 7 near the Nouveau Cafe and the green zone south of the Hibernal Pokémon Center. Because their spawns rotate, it may be necessary to check back after completing other missions to find the specific monkey you’re missing. Once caught, these Pokémon must be added to your active party to complete the “A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea” side mission for Servando at Cafe Cyclone, and you are allowed to keep every one you capture.eurogamer+5
As the game’s Pokédex will tell you, you can find these monkeys up in trees and on roofs of buildings, but that isn’t particularly helpful information. These monkeys don’t show up in wild zones at all, so while, yes, you can just look up at trees in hopes that you’ll find one, we’ve found twoearly spots in the game that always have at least two monkeys.
These two locations will feature random monkeys from the three, which means you can get a little unlucky and get multiple copies of the same monkey. If this happens, you can either catch or defeat them, but you’ll have to wait quite a bit before they respawn.
First location – Bleu Sector 7 Rooftop
For the first location, head west from Wild Zone 1, until you hit the Bleu Pokémon Center. Wrap around the building, and you’ll see a food truck (Nouveau Café Truck No. 2, actually), which will turn into a fast travel point. There’s some scaffolding along this building that will let you climb up – it’s actually the same one we recommend for finding Eevee early. You can see an exact map of the scaffolding location below.

Climb up and walk on top of the rooftops until you’re above the Pokémon Center. You’ll see two talking NPCs, some breakable rocks, and two pan-monkeys! The two monkeys’ levels on this rooftop will vary, but we’ve seen them at level 16 and 17.

Second location – Jaune Sector 2 Rooftop
For the second location, you’ll want to head over to Jaune Sector 2, which is to the west of the Justice Dojo. We recommend starting from the Prism Tower and heading northwest. Once you reach the Saison Canal, take the northern path and go up the wide staircase. At the top of the staircase, turn left to find a ladder leading to the rooftop.

Once you climb to the top, look to the right to see three pan-monkeys relaxing on the lower rooftop. The three monkeys’ levels on this rooftop will vary, but we’ve seen them range from levels 14-17.
Best route to complete ’A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea’ side quest
The best route to complete “A Pan-tastic Pot of Tea” in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is to target key spawn locations for Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour in a specific sequence, using respawn tricks to speed up collection.
Efficient Step-by-Step Route
-
Begin at Café Cyclone (Vert Street/Sector 3):
Start the quest by talking to Servando outside Café Cyclone, just southeast of Vert Plaza. -
Head to Hibernal Avenue:
Search the trees in this area between Jaune District and Rouge District. If one of the trio is missing, leave and return or rest to respawn them. -
Move to Autumnal Avenue:
This is a reliable spot between Magenta and Rouge Districts. Trees here are good for quick encounters, as the Pokémon stay still, making catching easier. -
Check Jaune Sector 11 (North Boulevard):
Find the tree just east of Jaune Sector 11. Only one monkey spawns here at a time, but the spot resets after story progress or waiting, so revisit as needed. -
Try Bleu Sector 7 Rooftop:
Climb the scaffolding near the Bleu Pokémon Center to reach rooftops; sometimes multiple monkeys spawn together.youtube -
Reset for Respawns:
If you’re missing one, use benches near Pokémon Centers or fast travel to change areas, then return-new Pokémon may appear. -
Return to Café Cyclone:
With all three in your party, speak to Servando to complete the mission and earn rewards. You keep the monkeys.
Tips for Speed
-
Only one monkey spawns per tree or rooftop; revisit or rest for respawns.
-
Rooftops sometimes produce two spawns at once-check them after tree runs.
-
Fast travel and time-of-day changes can refresh encounter spots without much delay.youtube
By following this circuit, you minimize backtracking and take advantage of respawn mechanics, finishing the quest quickly.youtube
Which rooftop spawn points to check first for all three monkeys
For the fastest results, prioritize these rooftop spawn points in Pokémon Legends: Z-A to check for Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour. These locations consistently feature multiple monkeys at once, increasing your odds of finding all three quickly.
Top Rooftop Spawn Points
-
Bleu Sector 7 Rooftop:
Ascend the scaffolding behind the Bleu Pokémon Center and survey the rooftop. This spot is known to regularly feature two pan-monkeys, sometimes with an Eevee present. Benches nearby allow you to rest and reset spawns if needed. This is considered a reliable early-game rooftop for the trio. -
Jaune Sector 2 Rooftop:
Head northwest from Prism Tower, across Saison Canal, and up the broad staircase. Use the ladder to find three monkeys lounging on the lower rooftop. This spot consistently hosts a group, making it one of the best for catching multiple types in one visit. -
Rouge Street Rooftop (west of Dormez Bien Cemetery):
Visit the rooftop just west of the cemetery and one building north of the Looker Bureau. This spawn can feature an Alpha monkey along with several other pan-monkeys, with a good chance to catch all three at once.
Special Rooftop Groups
-
Rooftops with large trees may spawn three or more monkeys at once-look for signs of groups gathered around berries for potential triple catches.
Check these rooftops first and use rest benches or time-of-day changes to trigger respawns. Focus on these key points and you can quickly collect all three elemental monkeys needed for your quest.
