At the southern end of the courtyard, behind a large propaganda stage under construction, climb the scaffolding on the right side. After dealing with a fascist guard, continue climbing to the top balcony and slip through an open window into an ornate hallway. There, you will find the puzzle box featuring a model of the Basilica, which initiates the ’House of God’ mystery when interacted with.
The “House of God” puzzle, formally categorized as a “Mystery” in your journal, is located on a high floor at the south end of the Vatican’s Belvedere Courtyard.
The Blackshirts are building a stage at the end of the courtyard. Head around to the right side, and then sneak behind it. Use your whip to the climb the scaffolding, take a left (and punch the fascist waiting for you), and then climb more scaffolding.
At the top, you can hop through an open window into a hallway. The “House of God” puzzle box will be right ahead of you.

On the model of the Basilica, pull the central lever all the way to the right to open a hidden compartment on the left side, where you can take the Relief Medallion. Then, pull the lever all the way to the left to open a compartment on the right side; place the Medallion into the slot there. This action will unlock another compartment on the left containing the Golden Chalice. Finally, place the Golden Chalice in the square on top of the model’s front to reveal the last secret panel with the Vatican Relics Exploration Book, completing the puzzle and rewarding you with a relic map and adventure points.
When you first approach the “House of God” puzzle box, grab the Cleaning Note from the top. This isn’t really a hint – it just says that there are hidden compartments. Reading the note puts the “House of God” mystery in your journal.
Look at the front of the puzzle box and interact with the lever. Slide it all the way to the right and you’ll hear a clunk.
This opens a door on the left side. Inside, you’ll find a Relief Medallion. Pick it up and then interact with the lever again. Slide the lever all the way to the left for another clunk.
This opens a panel on the right side. Inside, there’s a Relief Medallion-shaped hole. Place the medallion. When you hear another clunk, a panel opens back over on the left side. Head over and grab the Golden Chalice.
Place the chalice in the square on top of the puzzle box in front of the model. This opens the final secret panel and reveals the Vatican Relics Exploration Book. This map guide adds the location of a relic to your map.
