’Pilgrimage’ quest walkthrough in Oblivion Remastered
The “Pilgrimage” quest in Oblivion Remastered begins in Anvil, where you speak to the Prophet outside the Chapel of Dibella following an attack. After discussing the events with him and expressing that you have “no claim to fame,” he gives you a map revealing nine Wayshrines scattered across Cyrodiil. Your task is to visit and pray at each of these Wayshrines, which are marked by columns and enhance your character’s attributes. Upon praying at the final shrine, you receive a vision of Pelinal Whitestrake, unlocking the next quest, “The Shrine of the Crusader,” and completing the Pilgrimage. This quest is the first step in the Knights of the Nine DLC and is essential for progressing toward recovering the Crusader’s relics.
Fast travel to Anvil Castle. On your right, you should see a prophet – a white-haired old man yelling about some hysterical prophecy.
Talk to the prophet and ask him about the attack on the chapel. Keep mentioning the chapel and then he’ll say something about Relics. Offer to find the Relics and make sure to say, “No. I have no claim to fame” when he asks you if you’re a worthy knight.
He’ll then ask you to pray at nine Wayshrines, which will cause something magical will happen. The wayshrines are surrounded by columns. All you simply have to do is interact with the shrine and a pop-up will appear with some flavor text. Oh, and it’ll boost one of your attributes.
Once you interact with the last shrine, Penlinal Whitestrake will automatically show up in a vision and speak to you. This will then unlock “The Shrine of the Crusader” quest and complete “Pilgrimage.”

Which Wayshrine offers the most significant attribute boost in Oblivion Remastered
The Wayshrine of Akatosh offers the most significant attribute boost in Oblivion Remastered by granting a combined +10 to both Speed and Magicka, making it uniquely powerful compared to other shrines that typically boost a single attribute by +10. This dual boost enhances your movement speed and magical capacity simultaneously, providing a versatile advantage for both combat and exploration. Other shrines grant +10 to individual attributes such as Health, Strength, or Endurance, but none match the dual benefit of Akatosh’s Wayshrine.
