Pokémon Go ‘Into the Depths’ event Timed Research and reward

The “Into the Depths” Timed Research in Pokémon Go features a series of tasks focused on Water-type Pokémon and exploration of aquatic habitats. Completing each stage grants items such as Poké Balls, Stardust, Rare Candy, and encounters with Pokémon like Clamperl and Lapras. Players who purchase the Premium Timed Research ticket gain access to additional rewards, including encounters with rarer species and bonus XP, making it a worthwhile option for those aiming to expand their Water-type collection and earn extra items during the event.

This event has both a free and premium paid research set. If you buy the premium research for $1.99, you’ll also get access to a doubled hatch candy bonus. If you don’t plan on hatching a ton of eggs, we only recommend buying that pass if you are shiny hunting Yungoos or Diglett. You can see both of the research sets below.

How to evolve Glimmet into Glimmora

Glimmet evolves into Glimmora by leveling it up to level 35 in the main series games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Step-by-step

  • Keep Glimmet in your party and gain EXP through battles or EXP Candies until it reaches at least level 35.

  • When it levels up past 35, the evolution prompt will appear; choose to evolve and it will become Glimmora.

  • No special items, moves, time of day, or friendship are required – just the level.

If you tell me which game you’re playing (Scarlet/Violet, Legends Z-A, etc.), I can add any game-specific tips for training it efficiently.

Where to find Glimmet in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Glimmet appears almost exclusively in caves and underground areas in Paldea, often clinging to cave walls rather than walking on the ground.

Main cave locations

  • Alfornada Cavern: The cave beside Alfornada Town is one of the best and most consistent places to find Glimmet, including for shiny hunting.

  • Dalizapa Passage: Cave system between Medali and Glaseado Mountain, with Glimmet spawning on cave walls.

  • South Province (Area Six): Underground sections and caves here can spawn Glimmet.

  • West Province (Area Two) and East Province (Area Three): Cave areas in these provinces also list Glimmet as a habitat.

  • Glaseado Mountain / Area Zero: Deep cave areas and the bottom of Area Zero have Glimmet, often near groups of Glimmora later in the game.

Spawn tips

  • Look up and around: Glimmet often sticks to cave walls or appears floating near them, so pan the camera upward as you explore.

  • Boost encounters: Make sandwiches with Encounter Power: Rock or Encounter Power: Poison to increase its spawn rate, then use the “picnic reset” method (set up and pack up a picnic to refresh spawns).

  • Early-game option: Any accessible cave with wild spawns can produce Glimmet; Dalizapa Passage or the cave leading to Alfornada are good picks once their areas are unlocked.

If you tell me where you are in the story (badges and areas unlocked), I can point you to the closest Glimmet spot you can reach.
