Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits Quest Walkthrough and Market Trader Guide

Guides

In the shadowy underworld of Mirogana, a surge of counterfeit credits threatens the fragile balance between rival syndicates. In Star Wars Outlaws’ “Counterfeit Currency” quest, players must don the cloak of a stealthy investigator, infiltrating the Crimson Dawn stronghold to unmask the source of the fake money. With every choice shaping alliances and reputation, this mission blends tense stealth, clever deduction, and high-stakes faction politics into a gripping Star Wars adventure on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

How to start ’Counterfeit Currency’

To start the “Counterfeit Currency” quest in Star Wars Outlaws, you need to have a good reputation with the Pyke Syndicate. Once you meet this requirement, head to the Pyke Syndicate stronghold in Mirogana and speak with a Pyke NPC sitting near the contract broker Roba Barev. This Pyke will inform you about counterfeit credits circulating in the market and task you with investigating the source. Your first step will be to visit the Mirogana Market and sell an item to the merchant Hen Puon, which will reveal the counterfeit credits and lead you to the next phase of the quest involving the Crimson Dawn territory.

The unnamed Pyke who gives you your first Intel in the “Counterfeit Currency” chain is sitting next to the Pyke Cardroom and the merchant Jora Margal just inside the Pyke Syndicate District in Mirogana. Talk to him to learn about the counterfeit credits being used in the Mirogana market

Where to find the market trader

To find the market trader in the “Counterfeit Currency” quest in Star Wars Outlaws, you need to head to the Mirogana Market, located just north of the Pyke Syndicate district. The trader you are looking for is Hen Puon, a Pyke merchant who operates in the market’s eastern area. To reveal the counterfeit credits, sell a valuable item to Hen Puon; upon receiving the credits, Kay will identify them as fake. Hen will then direct you to the next lead, the soup kitchen in the Crimson Dawn territory. This interaction is key to progressing the quest and uncovering the source of the counterfeit currency.

In the market district, head to the northwest to find Hen Puon, the Pyke Syndicate merchant. He’s the one giving out the counterfeit credits, but you’ll have to get him to give you some before you can make the accusation.

Sell him something from your inventory. It doesn’t have to be anything special, so just grab a material you have a bunch of. When he pays you in counterfeit credits, you can confront him.

How to infiltrate the soup kitchen

To infiltrate the soup kitchen in Star Wars Outlaws during the “Counterfeit Currency” quest, you need to enter the Crimson Dawn District in Mirogana. If you have a good reputation with Crimson Dawn, access is easier, but you still must sneak around the restricted area. Approach from the right side of the landing pad, use stealth to avoid or silently take down guards, and make your way to a large fan. Command your companion Nix to hold the lever that stops the fan blades temporarily, then quickly pass through the fan area. Afterward, climb down a ladder through a hole in the floor to enter the soup kitchen itself. Inside, you can locate the crate of counterfeit credits and complete the mission objectives.

Hen will point you to the Soup Kitchen in the Crimson Dawn District. It’s all the way on the other side of the Crimson Dawn’s territory, though, so getting there will be a lot easier if you increase your reputation with them to at least good. Completing one of their missions – like “False Flag” – should get you the boost you need. It’s worth the extra effort to be able to just walk straight in.

The Soup Kitchen itself is a Restricted Area, so you’ll have to do some sneaking even if you’re good with Crimson Dawn. Facing the ramp up to the Restricted Area, head to the right (east). You’re out of sight there and can climb the boxes on your left to bypass the guards.

Work your way around the landing platform counterclockwise. There’s one solo guard close to where you climb up and another pair of guards patrolling.

As you loop around, there’s a switch on the big yellow machinery on your right that controls a nearby fan. Ignore it for now and get close to the fan and air vent (there’s always an air vent) behind it. Send Nix to turn off the fan and duck into the vent.

Where to find the credits stockpile

To find the credits stockpile in the “Counterfeit Currency” quest in Star Wars Outlaws, you first need to infiltrate the Crimson Dawn territory in Mirogana. After identifying the Market Trader distributing the fake credits in the Pyke Market District, you head to the Soup Kitchen located within the Crimson Dawn area. The Soup Kitchen serves as a front for a hidden vault where the counterfeit credits are stored. To access the vault, you must sneak past guards, use a lever to stop a large fan, then climb down a ladder into the vault room containing a crate full of counterfeit credits. Once inside, you can decide whether to warn the Crimson Dawn or report the find to the Pyke Syndicate, affecting your faction reputation accordingly.

Head through the pipe in the vent and deploy the ladder ahead of you. That ladder will drop you straight into the room you need to be in. Take anything not nailed down, check the daa pad for a fathier-racing tip, and slice the computer terminal for the keycard locations that will open the Crimson Dawn Vault.

You’ll get an option while you’re poking around to decide what to do with your knowledge – warn Crimson Dawn that the Pykes are onto them, or tell the Pykes about what you found. Your decision will impact your syndicate reputation.

What secrets lie behind the counterfeit credits in Star Wars Outlaws

The counterfeit credits circulating in Star Wars Outlaws originate from a covert operation run by the Crimson Dawn syndicate, aiming to destabilize rival factions in Mirogana. The quest begins when a Pyke Syndicate member suspects an insider’s involvement and tasks Kay with uncovering the source. Investigating the market leads to Hen Puon, a trader unknowingly distributing the fake currency, which points to a hidden stash in the Crimson Dawn’s “Soup Kitchen” district. Infiltrating this stronghold reveals a vault filled with counterfeit credits, forcing players to choose between warning Crimson Dawn or informing the Pykes, each choice affecting faction reputation and alliances.

What role does Hen Puon play in the counterfeit credits scheme

Hen Puon plays the role of an unwitting distributor in the counterfeit credits scheme in Star Wars Outlaws. He is a Pyke Syndicate merchant located in the Mirogana Market District who unknowingly gives out counterfeit credits when players sell him items. By selling something to Hen Puon, players receive fake currency, which allows Kay to confront him and extract information about the source of the counterfeit money. Hen Puon then reveals that the fake credits come from a location known as the “Soup Kitchen” in the Crimson Dawn territory, directing players to investigate further.
