The natures of each group might be wildly different, but the reputation system works the same for each.

Your standing can be:

Terrible
Bad
Poor
Good
Excellent

If you have a poor or terrible reputation, you’re prohibited from entering syndicate districts in settlements and outposts in the open world. You’ll also have to pay more when shopping with certain merchants affiliated with those groups. Trespassing will reduce your reputation further with that syndicate if you’re spotted, and you’ll be attacked on sight.

Terrible reputation is even worse, and means that syndicate has issued a hit on you, and bounty hunters will chase you – though only in the open world. Unlike with the Imperials, you can’t pay a corrupt guard to magically wipe your bounty with a syndicate.

Good reputation lets you wander around districts and take on smaller syndicate quests while enjoying discounts at syndicate-affiliated merchants. Excellent reputation lets you take items from syndicate districts without getting reprimanded, and you’ll get even better deals (plus exclusive gear) as a sign of your everlasting friendship – everlasting, until you stab them in the back for someone else.

It might be easy to fall out of grace in Star Wars Outlaws, but you have plenty of ways to worm your way back into favor with each syndicate and stay there for a while. Major story choices, anonymous contracts, data handovers, card games, and syndicate quests all help increase your reputation, so don’t fret too much if you throw the Pykes under the bus and suddenly want to be friends again.

All the methods we’ve list below apply to any syndicate, though specific quests that make you choose who to befriend are specific to certain syndicates.

Syndicate reputation contracts

After you complete Danka’s mandatory requests on Toshara, she’ll offer to help get you jobs with all the syndicates, no strings attached, and she’s not the only one. Contract brokers hang out in cantinas on each planet – and some smaller settlements have boxy grey terminals you can use to manage contracts – and each job is tied to a specific syndicate. Complete it to get a decent-sized reputation boost with that syndicate.

You can only take on a few contracts per planet at once, so it’s a good idea to clear them when you take them, in case you need to pick up more later. There’s also no reputation penalty if you don’t complete it or take ages to get the job done. New contracts pop up frequently, so check back often for more.

These contract jobs are the best way to increase your reputation if it’s dropped into poor or downright bad status, since you typically don’t have to enter syndicate territory to get them done.

Syndicate quests

Syndicate quests are only available from syndicate members inside their group’s district on a planet, which is off-limits unless your reptation is good or higher. They’re still worth completing, though. Aside from the excellent rewards, you’ll also get a nice reputation boost for your trouble, which gives you some room to cause trouble and potentially lower your reputation with that syndicate later, if you have to.

Each syndicate also has a selection of more influential quests, such as the Hutts’ “Sabotage,” wherein you have to choose between two syndicates at the end and potentially lose reputation with the one you didn’t help.

Sabacc games

Each syndicate district has a Sabacc parlor where you can challenge the locals to a game, and winning nets you a big reputation boost of a size comparable to what you get from some of Outlaws’ story quests.

Whether you can challenge syndicate members to a Sabacc game with poor reputation is a little unclear. I snuck into the Crimson Dawn district Sabacc parlor on Kijimi with low reputation and was still able to complete a full game without anyone getting nasty about it – but I wasn’t able to repeat the feat with the Pykes when they disliked me.

Data handovers

You might come across data caches while exploring Imperial compounds and other syndicate districts; sometimes, they even show up in the cockpit of the Trailblazer, your ship. You can hand these over to a syndicate of your choice for a small reputation boost without harming your standing with another syndicate.

How to increase Pyke Syndicate reputation

To increase your Pyke Syndicate reputation in Star Wars Outlaws, focus on completing contracts specifically for the Pyke Syndicate, which you can accept from contract brokers found in their territories. Engaging in high-risk, high-reward missions for them significantly boosts your standing. Additionally, sharing Syndicate Data Disks you find in enemy bases with Pyke-affiliated merchants grants extra reputation. Helping Pyke members during random world events also provides small reputation gains. Be mindful that improving your reputation with the Pyke Syndicate may harm your standing with rival factions, so choose your actions carefully to maintain or enhance your favor with them.

Outside a few early story quests, the primary ways you can increase your reputation with the Pyke Syndicate is by completing their syndicate quests. You can actually be in poor standing with the Pykes to start this, since the chain kicks off with “The Traitor” quest that pops during one of the main story missions. Just make sure to give Gorak his ring back.

Additionally, collecting and selling Syndicate Data to Crimson Dawn vendors grants a substantial reputation increase. Helping Crimson Dawn members during random world events and winning Kessel Sabacc games in their territory offer smaller reputation gains. Reaching higher reputation levels unlocks rewards such as the Crimson Reign blaster paint, a stealth-enhancing charm, and a full outfit that improves smoke bomb efficiency.

So far as we’ve been able to tell, most Crimson Dawn quests are tied to the Pykes, except on Kijimi. Your best early-game chances to raise your Crimson Dawn reputation come from completing the Pyke quests and betraying the Pykes each time. You’ll need to complete contracts to restore your standing with them, though.

Choose Krisk during “The Hive” main story mission. (This is the best choice from a practical standpoint, since you won’t lose reputation with the Ashiga.)

This approach allows you to steadily build a good or excellent reputation with the Hutt Cartel while balancing relations with other syndicates.

The Hutts make enemies of everyone, so expect to come into conflict with your Crimson Dawn and Pyke allies when you take on a Hutt job. While they have a district on Akiva and merchants on Toshara, the only place you’re in danger of getting hunted by Hutts when your reputation is low is on Tatooine. Bear that in mind when you need to decide who to back.

Ignore Crimson Dawn’s request in “Sabotage,” at the cost of Crimson Dawn reputation.
Escort Ays to Bib Fortuna during the “Defector” mission. (You lose a hefty chunk of reputation with Crimson Dawn for doing so, but the Syndicate Data you pick up can help restore some of it.)
Defend the Hutt transport vessels from the Pykes in Convoy. (You still gain a lot of reputation even if one vessel is destroyed, and the Pykes get very angry either way.)

The Ashiga only have a presence in Kijimi City, and they’re in conflict with Crimson Dawn. You don’t have to worry about juggling Pyke or Hutt reputation on Kijimi, but it’s a good idea to start your journey there with high Crimson Dawn reputation. That frees you to prioritize the Ashiga without falling into disrepute with the Dawn – or you can just do whatever and make up for the consequences with contracts.

Once you’re ready to visit Kijimi, where Crimson Dawn outposts are more common, improve your standing with the Dawn to keep things smooth.

It’s worth siding with the Pykes the first few opportunities you get, though. Not only do they practically own Toshara and have several outposts dotted around the wilds outside Mirogana, but if you manage to max out your reputation with them, you get some of the best armor in the game: the Imperial Disguise Gear. Wearing it lets Kay evade Imperial detection more easily and sees her wanted level decrease faster.
