Below, we explain where to find all the HIA Coins in Sixth Street, Brant Street, Lumina Square, and Ballet Twins Road.
What are HIA Coins used for in Zenless Zone Zero?
HIA Coins in Zenless Zone Zero are a special collectible currency used to exchange for valuable rewards. After unlocking them by completing the “Trash Talking” side commission, players can collect HIA Coins throughout various districts in New Eridu. The primary use of HIA Coins is to trade them with the Sage in a Barrel-a unique NPC found living in a trash can on Sixth Street. By giving HIA Coins to the Sage in a Barrel, players can obtain a range of useful items, including materials for upgrading Agents and weapons, making these coins a valuable resource for progression in the game.
You can trade HIA Coins to the Sage of Barrels, the trashcan in the corner of Sixth Street. The garbage can will give you a random reward from a pool of items for every coin you give it, including EXP materials and Denny.
Where to find HIA Coins in Zenless Zone Zero
HIA Coins in Zenless Zone Zero can be found scattered throughout the main districts of New Eridu, specifically in Sixth Street, Brant Street Construction Site, Lumina Square, Ballet Twins Road, Blazewood (Outer Ring), and Port Elpis. To collect them, interact with NPCs who have grey speech bubbles or examine sparkling objects in these areas, often at specific times of day. Some coins require you to complete small tasks, such as talking to certain characters, helping with side commissions, or paying a small amount of Dennies. After collecting HIA Coins, you can exchange them for valuable rewards with the Sage in a Barrel, a unique NPC located on Sixth Street behind the Curb Mirror and next to the 141 Store. Keep in mind that some coins only appear after progressing certain quests or resetting the area by teleporting between districts.
You can find HIA Coins in a handful of places, but the thing to look for are NPCs with grey speech bubbles above them or sparkling interactable objects like so:

If you’re having a hard time finding the NPCs or sparkling objects, there are a couple things you can do:
- Leave the area and come back to refresh the NPCs.
- Look to see if the NPC is in the “wrong” spot. For example, if you need Clara’s coin but she’s standing in front of Remote Play instead of the remodeling shop, talk to her, and then refresh the area to have her move.
- Be aware that NPCs may get tied up in side commissions, too. For instance, weren’t able to get Ronnie’s coin because Kousaka was busy with another quest.
- Double check that the time is set correctly.
- Make sure you’re not in immersive story mode. If you can’t see the time of day in the top left corner, you won’t be able to find coins.
- The silver “Radiance” coins from Lumina Square and Ballet Twins Road only seem to spawn one at a time, so you may have to travel between the two locations to find them. You may also have to leave the area and come back to get the next coins to spawn.
You can also track your progress for each area by talking to Officer Mewmew. The last task on each page is collecting half or all the HIA coins in the area, which will let you know your progress.

Brant Street HIA Coin locations
Brant Street in Zenless Zone Zero features ten HIA Commemorative Coins that can be collected throughout the Construction Site area. These coins are primarily obtained by interacting with specific NPCs or completing small tasks, often tied to the time of day. For example, you can get coins by talking to Luka (after paying a fee), Becky, Ronnie (after taking a photo for her), Kaede (after a brief quest involving Cole), Kaidou (after speaking with Pepper), Ironhead, Gray, Li (by investigating cement bags), Yang (by helping a stuck Builderboo), and Jen (after assisting Kaishu) at various locations around the site. Some coins require simple conversations, while others involve minor fetch quests or helping characters with their requests, so be sure to explore thoroughly and check back at different times of day to collect them all.

Below we list all the HIA Coin locations for Brant Street Construction, the second area:
- Morning: Talk to Becky by the Junction Box.
- Morning: Talk to Kaeda by one of the elevators to the upper platform, talk to Cole standing in front of her, and then talk to Kaede again.

Lumina Square HIA Coin locations
Lumina Square in Zenless Zone Zero features a wide variety of HIA Coin locations, with up to 25 collectible coins scattered throughout the area. Players can find these coins by interacting with objects such as an air conditioner in the alley behind Beaureson Beauty Salon, a flower bed in front of Richard Teamilk, a bicycle near the Newsstand, and a manhole cover in front of Waterfall Soup. Many coins are also given by NPCs like Emmie behind Coff Cafe, Granny Leisha outside Lumina Galleria, Orlenda outside the Pharmacy, and Ruby near the HIA Building. Some coins require listening in on conversations between characters, such as Grandpa Luke, Dinah, and Chopper, or completing small tasks after talking to NPCs like Azhu and Kui. Fast travel points like the Pedestrian Area, Newsstand, and Coff Cafe make it easier to reach these locations and collect every HIA Coin in Lumina Square.

As mentioned above, the coins in Lumina Square work a little bit differently: One of them will randomly spawn at a time either in Lumina Square or Ballet Twins Road, based on our testing. If you find one, the next one will spawn in the other area, if that area has remaining coins left for that time of day. It’s a little bit finicky, and we’re not sure if it works like this on purpose.
For example, if you talked to Emmie behind Coff Cafe during the day in Lumina Square to get a coin, you’ll need to head to Ballet Twins Road to grab a daytime coin before any more coins will spawn in Lumina Square. If Ballet Twins Road has no more daytime coins to grab, leave Lumina Square and come back for a remaining daytime coin to randomly spawn.
Our list below does not list them in order of the spawn, since it’s random, but does list them by time of day so you can grab them quickly and efficiently.
- Morning: Talk to Granny Leisha near the silver statue.
- Morning: Interact with the bike in front of the newstand.
- Morning: Interact with the flower bed in front of Richard Teamilk.
- Morning: Talk to Emmie behind Coff Cafe.
- Afternoon: Talk to Orlenda by the pharmacy.
- Afternoon: Interact with the kiddie ride in the playground.
- Afternoon: Interact with the sign outside of the convenience store.
- Afternoon: Talk to Lilac by the HIA building.
- Evening: Talk to Lynn outside of the HIA building.
- Evening: Interact with the manhole cover by Waterfall Soup.
- Evening: Talk to Tarshi by the big silver statue.
- Evening: Interact with the tires at the playground.
- Midnight: Talk to Casey by the parking lot.
- Midnight: Interact with the air conditioner in the alley behind the beauty salon.
- Midnight: Talk to Ruby outside of the HIA building.
Ballet Twins Road HIA Coin locations
On Ballet Twins Road in Zenless Zone Zero, HIA Coins are scattered across both the Upper and Lower Levels, and their availability depends on the in-game time of day. For example, in the morning, you can find coins by visiting Cheesetopia’s alley near the red house and talking to Poloff and Andron. In the afternoon, speak with Shawn in the Upper Level, then Leif for two more coins. Evening brings opportunities at the Gas Station-talk to Bolter in the Upper Level, then Lola in the Lower Level, making dialogue choices that can yield two coins. At midnight, visit Buffy in the Lower Level trailer for another coin. Additional coins can be found by interacting with Stevia outside Cheesetopia and Old Demir across from it in the evening, and by talking to Corinna and Dorian at the 141 Store in the morning, then Leigh in the Upper Level. Always check the time screen to ensure coins are available during your visit.

As mentioned above, the coins spawn here in a little bit of a weird way. They seem to alternate between single-coin spawns between Lumina Square and Ballet Twins Road, so you may have to alternate locations to get coins to appear.
Again, our list below doesn’t list them in a numbered order, but are sorted by when you can find them:
- Morning: Interact with the takeout bag on the bench by Officer Mewmew.
- Morning: Interact with the latter on the top area.
- Afternoon: Interact with the bench to the right of the huge statue.
- Afternoon: Interact with the magazine stand inside the subway station.
- Afternoon: Talk to Kaibara on the upper level.
- Evening: Interact with the red vending machine on the upper level.
- Evening: Interact with the payphone on the upper level.
- Evening: Interact with the crate in the pile inside the subway station.
- Midnight: Talk to Archie next to the statue.
- Midnight: Interact with the railing “edge of the platform” around the statue.
Where are the hidden HIA Coins most likely to be in Zenless Zone Zero
Hidden HIA Coins in Zenless Zone Zero are most likely to be found in the following ways and locations:
-
Specific Districts: The coins are scattered across four main districts: Sixth Street, Brant Street Construction Site, Ballet Twins Road, and Lumina Square, with a total of 53 coins to find.
-
Time-Sensitive Locations: Many coins only appear at specific times of day (morning, afternoon, evening, or midnight). Changing the in-game time is often necessary to make certain coins appear.
-
Interacting with NPCs: Talking to various NPCs, sometimes after helping them or choosing certain dialogue options, can yield coins. Some NPCs only give coins at particular times or after certain events.
-
Investigating Sparkling Objects: Some coins are hidden in sparkling objects like crates, lockers, or alleyways. These objects may only sparkle (and thus be collectible) at the correct time.
-
District Teleporting: If coins are not spawning, teleporting between districts and returning can reset their locations, making them appear.
-
Unique Spots per District: For example, in Lumina Square, there are 15 possible coin locations, but only a subset are needed for certain rewards. The coins can be collected in any order, but not all will be available at once due to time restrictions.
In summary, HIA Coins are most likely to be hidden:
-
Near interactive NPCs,
-
Within sparkling or suspicious objects,
-
In locations that change with the in-game time,
-
Across all major city districts, requiring exploration and time manipulation to collect them all.
What are the best times of day to find HIA Coins in Lumina Square and other districts
The best times of day to find HIA Coins in Lumina Square-and in other districts-are divided into four time periods: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Midnight. Each coin is tied to a specific time slot, and only one coin will spawn per period. After collecting a coin, you need to advance the in-game time to the next period to make a new coin appear.
Here’s a breakdown for Lumina Square:
-
Morning: Coins can be found at locations such as the bicycle near the parking lot, the flower bed near the Police Station, and by talking to Emmie behind Coff Cafe or Granny Leisha near the Lumina building.
-
Afternoon: Look for coins at the broken toy in the playground, the advert in front of the 141 Convenience Store, or by talking to Orlenda near the Metro Station and Lilac in front of the HIA building.
-
Evening: Coins appear at places like the tire in the playground, the manhole cover near the Waterfall Soup Noodle Shop, and from NPCs like Tarshi (busking near the spiral sculpture) or Lynn in the parking lot.
-
Midnight: Check the air conditioning at the beauty salon, the edge of the platform after teleporting, or interact with Archie for a coin after a specific dialogue event.
This time-based system applies to other districts as well, so always rotate through all four time slots and check the relevant locations for each period. If a coin doesn’t spawn in Lumina Square, it may have spawned in Ballet Twins Road instead, as these two areas share coin spawns.
