Pokémon Go Tour Unova Global Event Guide – Habitat Spawns Schedules Bonuses

Guides

Get ready, Trainers! Pokémon GO Tour: Unova is unleashing a thrilling weekend of rotating habitat spawns and exclusive bonuses on March 1-2, 2025, spotlighting the iconic Pokémon from the Unova region. From the icy Winter Caverns to the festive Autumn Masquerade, each hour brings new opportunities to catch rare Unova Pokémon, including the debut of Black and White Kyurem fusion. Whether you’re chasing shiny Meloetta or filling out your Unova Pokédex, this event promises a packed adventure both free and with optional premium perks to boost your gameplay.

The event has loads of perks that aren’t behind a paywall – though yes, there are a few bonuses behind a paywall, including boosted XP and Stardust from egg hatching and raiding. These tickets came as part of the “Road to Unova” event and the effects will carry out during Go Tour: Unova. There’s also the paid deluxe version of the Go Tour Pass, that gives you more rewards, but isn’t necessary for enjoying the event.

This is a great opportunity to fill in some of the blanks of your Unova Pokédex if you’re still missing Pokémon, but you also will want to do your best to get a Black and White Kyurem with fusion, which make their debut with this event.

That’s enough harping about Kyurem – take a look at all the Go Tour: Unova perks, the rotating habitat schedule, egg hatches, and other event features below.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event bonuses

The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event offers a variety of bonuses to enhance gameplay during the weekend of March 1-2, 2025. All eggs placed in incubators will hatch with half the usual distance, and there will be no limit on remote raids throughout the event. Players can perform up to six special trades per day on both days, with a halved Stardust cost for all trades. Additionally, Unova-region Pokémon will learn their legacy moves upon evolution during the event. Special raid backgrounds and increased appearances of certain Pokémon like Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, Durant, and both forms of Basculin add to the event’s appeal. These bonuses are available to all players without requiring a paid ticket, though premium passes offer extra rewards.

This is a free-to-play event with no specific paid entry ticket to access the following bonuses:

  • Five-star raid targets will have a chance to get a special event background based off of the mainline game they’re from
  • All eggs placed into incubators during the event will have halved hatch distance
  • No limit on remote raids all weekend
  • Up to 6 special trades per day on Saturday and Sunday
  • Halved Stardust cost for trading all weekend

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova boosted spawns

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event, players will experience boosted spawns that rotate through different habitats every hour, with each habitat appearing twice daily. These boosted spawns focus on Pokémon originally from the Unova region, including popular starters like Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, as well as other rare Unova Pokémon. This rotation system allows trainers to strategically plan their gameplay to encounter a wide variety of Unova Pokémon and fill out their Pokédex. Additionally, the event features increased shiny odds for certain species, special raid bosses including Black and White Kyurem with fusion forms, and exclusive egg hatches, making it a prime opportunity for collectors and battlers alike.

The boosted spawns correlate with habitats, which change every hour. Each habitat will rotate in twice per day.

All four habitats have special hat-wearing Pikachu. There’s four of them and they’re wearing the protagonists’ hats from the Unova games.

Notably, Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear are regional Pokémon. Though they have appeared outside of their respective regions for other events, if you need more candy to evolve them or you don’t have them yet, now is a good time to try to nab them.

Deerling is also a special case where it usually only appears in its seasonal form in that respective season. So if you want to try to nab more Deerling for your collection without having to wait months for the form to swap around, you should keep your eyes out for them. Deerling and Sawsbuck are also available shiny for the first time.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova special legacy moves

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event, several Unova-region Pokémon will learn their special legacy moves upon evolution, offering players a unique opportunity to obtain these exclusive attacks. Notable examples include Serperior with Frenzy Plant, Emboar with Blast Burn, Samurott with Hydro Cannon, Gigalith with Meteor Beam, Conkeldurr with Brutal Swing, Leavanny with Shadow Claw, Escavalier with Razor Shell, Eelektross with Volt Switch, Chandelure with Poltergeist, Haxorus with Breaking Swipe, Accelgor with Energy Ball, and Hydreigon with Brutal Swing. This feature enhances the event’s appeal by allowing players to power up their Unova Pokémon with moves that are otherwise difficult to acquire, enriching both gameplay and collection aspects during the March 1-2, 2025 event.

As part of the event, these Pokémon will learn their respective legacy move when evolved:

  • Servine → Serperior: Frenzy Plant
  • Pignite → Emboar: Blast Burn
  • Dewott → Samurott: Hydro Cannon
  • Boldore → Gigalith: Meteor Beam
  • Gurdurr → Conkeldurr: Brutal Swing

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Field Research and rewards

During the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event, players can access exclusive Field Research tasks by spinning PokéStops or Gym dials in their local area between March 1 and 2, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time. These event-exclusive tasks include objectives like catching 10 different species of Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region, powering up Pokémon of specific types, and transferring Pokémon. Completing these tasks rewards encounters with various Unova Pokémon such as Sandile, Boldore, Darmanitan, and Deerling in different seasonal forms, as well as special Pikachu variants wearing hats and visors. The Field Research tasks are designed to help players expand their Unova Pokédex and earn unique rewards, with some tasks being particularly appealing for their rare Pokémon encounters. These tasks remain in the player’s journal until the event ends, allowing completion at any time during the event period.

Spinning a PokéStop during the event may yield one of these Field Research Tasks:

  • Power up Pokémon 5 times (Pikachu [any Go Unovan hat] encounter)
  • Power up grass- or bug-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Spring] encounter)
  • Power up fire- or flying-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Summer] encounter)
  • Power up psychic- or ghost-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Fall] encounter)
  • Power up ice- or rock-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Winter] encounter)
  • Transfer 10 Pokémon (Red-stripe or Blue-stripe Basculin encounter)

There’s also “enigma” research that cycles out with the habitats. The task for these is the same: “Catch 10 different species of Pokémon first discovered in Unova” and it rewards many different Unovan Pokémon, but with the special event background.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova egg hatches

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event, players have the opportunity to hatch special eggs containing Unova-region Pokémon. The egg hatch pool includes 2 km eggs with Pokémon like Roggenrola, Timburr, Karrablast, Shelmet, and Larvesta; 5 km eggs featuring Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, Durant, and Larvesta; and 10 km eggs that hatch Maractus, Sigilyph, Bouffalant, and Larvesta. Notably, Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant are regional Pokémon making their shiny debut during the event. These eggs offer a great chance to obtain rare and region-exclusive Pokémon, with some available for the first time globally through egg hatching.

Any eggs you get during the event period have the chance of hatching the following Pokémon.

2 km eggs

  • Roggenrola
  • Timburr
  • Karrablast
  • Shelmet
  • Larvesta

5 km eggs

  • Throh
  • Sawk
  • Heatmor
  • Durant
  • Larvesta

10 km eggs

Notably, Maractus, Sigilyph, Bouffalant, Throh, and Sawk are all also regional Pokémon that usually don’t show up outside of their usual regions. Heatmor and Durant are migratory Pokémon, which follow similar rules, but they do swap locations sometimes. Maractus did show up during the 2024 Pokémon Go Fest, so you may already have one.

Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant are also making their shiny debut with this event.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova raid targets

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event, raid targets rotate every hour between Reshiram and Black Kyurem, followed by Zekrom and White Kyurem, creating a dynamic raid experience throughout the day. These legendary Pokémon are featured in five-star raids, offering players the chance to encounter and catch them with special event backgrounds. Additionally, the event includes no limit on remote raids for the weekend, making it easier for trainers to participate in these raids from anywhere. This rotation and the inclusion of iconic Unova legendaries provide a key highlight for players aiming to complete their Unova Pokédex and obtain powerful raid-exclusive Pokémon.

The following Pokémon will be in raids during the event. Reshiram and Zekrom will rotate in and out of the raid cycle every other hour.

Pokémon GO Tour: Unova offers players a rich experience centered around the Unova region, featuring rotating habitat spawns that cycle through four unique themes: Winter Caverns, Spring Soirée, Summer Vacation, and Autumn Masquerade. These habitats rotate every hour during the event days, allowing Trainers to encounter a diverse range of Unova Pokémon without needing to change their physical location. The event also includes a variety of bonuses such as unlimited remote raids, reduced egg hatch distances, and special trades, with additional perks available through paid add-ons. Notably, the event introduces Black and White Kyurem with fusion for the first time, alongside regional Pokémon and shiny debuts, making it an excellent opportunity to expand and complete the Unova Pokédex.

How will the new habitat spawns change my Pokémon GO Unova experience

The new habitat spawns in Pokémon GO Tour: Unova will transform your gameplay by introducing four distinct rotating habitats that change every hour, each featuring exclusive Unova-region Pokémon. This dynamic rotation means you’ll need to plan your playtime strategically to encounter specific Pokémon like Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig, or Deerling in its seasonal forms, as well as rare regional variants such as Panpour and Pansage. Additionally, the event incorporates increased spawn rates and new spawn points, including in rural and developing areas, broadening where and how often Pokémon appear, which enhances the variety and accessibility of encounters across different environments. This shift not only enriches the Unova experience with fresh challenges and opportunities but also encourages exploration and use of items like Incense and Adventure Effects to maximize your catch potential during each habitat’s active hour.

How will habitat rotation affect my chances of finding rare Pokémon in Unova

The habitat rotation system in Pokémon GO Tour: Unova significantly influences your chances of finding rare Pokémon by concentrating specific Unova-region Pokémon into four distinct habitats-Winter Caverns, Spring Soirée, Summer Vacation, and Autumn Masquerade-that each last for one hour and repeat twice daily during the event. This schedule means rare Pokémon appear more frequently but only during their habitat’s active hour, so timing your play is crucial to encounter favorites like Deerling’s seasonal forms, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, and rare regional variants. Additionally, some rare Pokémon like Unown letters (U, N, O, V, A) spawn exclusively via Incense during the event, further enhancing your odds if you use the right items at the right time. While raids remain the primary method to encounter ultra-rare legendaries such as Black and White Kyurem, the habitat rotations create focused windows to maximize rare wild spawns, making strategic planning essential to optimize your catch rate during the event.
