How to evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
To evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you need to have your Swirlix hold a Whipped Dream and then trade it with another player. The evolution will occur immediately after the trade is completed. Make sure you’ve equipped the item before initiating the trade, as Swirlix won’t evolve without it. Whipped Dream can typically be found at specialty shops or obtained through side quests within the game.
To evolve your Swirlix, you’ll need to trade it while it’s holding a Whipped Dream, which you can get by completing Side Mission 14 (“Slurpuff’s Café Visit”). This quest unlocks after completing Main Mission 6 and is found on Estival Avenue:
After completing the mission, you’ll receive two Whipped Dreams, allowing you to evolve two Swirlix.
If you’ve rolled credits in the game already and also need even more Whipped Dreams, you can try to score more from completing Infinite Royale matches. It has a pretty low drop rate, so you’ll need to be pretty lucky to get one through this method.

- Select your Swirlix and send it off for a trade.
Provided that your Swirlix was indeed holding a Whipped Dream, it’ll evolve right away once it’s in the hands of your trade partner. If you want your original Pokémon, your trading partner will have to trade it back, though.
If you don’t have anyone to trade with, you can use the trade code “0098 0098,” which will match you up with other players who are looking to evolve their Swirlix. Note that before you trade with strangers, you should make sure that their offered Swirlixis holding a Whipped Dream, too. You can do this by pressing R when it prompts you to trade.
I would also personally not recommend trading an alpha or shiny Swirlix to a stranger – there’s a pretty high chance that they’ll run off with their new rare friend. In that case, it’s probably best to try to find somebody who can reliably trade your delicious Pokémon back to you.
Where to find Whipped Dream side mission in Lumiose City
The Whipped Dream side mission in Lumiose City, called “Side Mission 14: Slurpuff’s Café Visit,” can be started by talking to the NPC Meuse. Meuse is located in the Shutterbug Café, which is in the Bleu Sector 10, the southwest part of Lumiose City near Wild Zone 10.
In this mission, you will accompany Slurpuff to enjoy some of its favorite food at the café. Completing this simple and wholesome side mission rewards you with two Whipped Dream items, which are crucial for evolving Swirlix through trade.
So to find and start the Whipped Dream side mission, go to the Shutterbug Café in Bleu Sector 10 of Lumiose City and talk to Meuse near the café entrance.
