Black Myth Wukong Silk Location and Farming Guide

Guides

In the mystical world of Black Myth: Wukong, silk is more than just a luxury-it’s a rare and coveted resource essential for crafting powerful armor that can mean the difference between life and death against legendary foes. But where exactly can you find this precious material, and how can you ensure you never run short when facing the game’s toughest challenges? This guide uncovers every secret location, shop, and enemy encounter where silk can be found, so you can arm yourself for the adventure ahead.

What is silk in Black Myth: Wukong?

Silk in Black Myth: Wukong is a rare crafting material essential for upgrading your armor and unlocking new armor sets, particularly those of rare and epic rarity. This valuable resource is used throughout the early and mid-game to significantly boost your character’s stats, making it crucial for overcoming tougher enemies and bosses. As you progress, silk becomes easier to obtain, but in the initial chapters, it is intentionally scarce and highly sought after for crafting powerful gear.

Silk is used to craft rare and epic rarity armor, which can really help elevate your stats in the first few areas of Black Myth: Wukong. How much silk you’ll need depends on the type of armor piece and its rarity. For example, a rare chest piece – typically the most expensive piece to craft in a set, as it holds the most stats – might only cost you two silk (in addition to some other crafting currencies) where an epic hat might cost you four silk.

As you progress out of chapter 2, silk will become a more minor currency, and you’ll find it piling up much like Yarn. It’ll be replaced by – or combined with – even rarer currencies like Cold Iron leaves.

Where can you find silk in Black Myth: Wukong

Silk in Black Myth: Wukong is a rare and valuable crafting material essential for upgrading your armor, especially in the early and mid-game. You can obtain it by defeating various enemies-particularly Rat enemies, Spearbones, and Yaoguai Kings or Chiefs-especially in the Yellow Wind Ridge region of Chapter 2, where most common mobs have a chance to drop it. Additional sources include purchasing a limited amount from the Shrine Store in the Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple (after ringing all three bells in Black Wind Mountain) and opening chests found throughout the game world. As you progress further, silk becomes more abundant, especially from Chapter 3 onward.

Silk is supposed to be rare in chapter 1 of Black Myth: Wukong, and while it seems to randomly drop from some bosses like Elder Jinchi – he didn’t drop any for us, but others claim to have gotten some off of him – you can reliably purchase two from the Grand Chamber Shrine Store in the Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple area.

As you progress into chapter 2, you’ll find more and more sources for silk. Powerful enemies will randomly drop some silk, as will bosses like the Second Prince of Flowing Sands. But, most importantly, you’ll be able to reliably purchase some at the chapter 2 shrines. This trend – being able to purchase rare resources at shrines in each area – will continue as you progress through the game. So be sure to always check the stock and spend your Will on resources like silk when you get the chance.

Where are the hidden silk spots in Black Myth: Wukong’s early chapters

In Black Myth: Wukong’s early chapters, silk is notoriously scarce, but there are a few hidden spots and methods to acquire it before it becomes more abundant in later chapters.

Key Hidden Silk Spots in Early Chapters

  • Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple – Grand Chamber Shrine Store

    • After ringing all three bells in Black Wind Mountain, you unlock access to the Secret: Ancient Guanyin Temple.

    • Here, in the Grand Chamber, you can reliably purchase up to two silk from the shrine store. This is the most consistent way to obtain silk in Chapter 1.

  • Elder Jinchi – Secret Boss Drop

    • In the same secret temple area, you may encounter Elder Jinchi, a hidden boss.

    • Defeating Elder Jinchi can sometimes reward you with two silk, though the drop is not guaranteed.

  • Snake Trail – Hidden Enemy

    • In Chapter 1, you can also attempt to farm silk from a hidden enemy near a shrine surrounded by mushrooms on the Snake Trail.

    • Interacting with a suspicious pile of mushrooms spawns an enemy who has a moderate chance to drop silk. This method is slow and unreliable, but it is possible to farm silk here if you are persistent.

Summary Table

Location/Method Silk Obtained Reliability
Grand Chamber Shrine Store (Temple) Guaranteed
Elder Jinchi (Secret Boss) 2 (sometimes) Not guaranteed
Snake Trail (Hidden Enemy) 1 (random) Low, farmable

These are the main hidden silk spots and methods in the early chapters of Black Myth: Wukong. Silk becomes much more common and easier to farm as you progress into Chapter 2 and beyond.

Are there specific enemies in early chapters that guarantee silk drops

In the early chapters of Black Myth: Wukong, no specific enemy guarantees a silk drop with 100% certainty. However, certain bosses-especially Yaoguai Kings and Chiefs such as Elder Jinshi (or Jinchi) and Red Loong-are reported to have a high chance of dropping silk, but even these drops are not guaranteed for every player.

The only guaranteed method to obtain silk in Chapter 1 is by purchasing it from the Grand Chamber Shrine Store in the Secret Ancient Guanyin Temple, where you can buy up to two silk. Random enemies like those spawned by interacting with mushroom piles on the Snake Trail can also drop silk, but this is both rare and random.

In summary: while some bosses have a high chance, no early chapter enemy guarantees a silk drop every time.
