Guides

Ready to zip across your Lego Fortnite Odyssey world in seconds? Discover how the new Battle Bus and Bus Stations unlock a fast travel network that transforms long treks into thrilling airborne journeys. Whether you’re on mobile, Nintendo, PlayStation, or Xbox, mastering this system means less wandering and more action-packed adventure-here’s how to find, build, and ride the Battle Bus like a pro.

How to build Bus Stations

To build a Bus Station in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, first unlock its recipe by discovering a Bus Station in the world, identifiable by its blue square-shaped structure with a pulsating blue light and unique sound. Gather the necessary materials: 4 Iron Bars, 2 Malachite Slabs, 6 Frostpine, and 3 Rift Shards. Rift Shards are obtained by destroying existing Bus Stations using an Epic Pickaxe, which itself requires crafting with 8 Obsidian Slabs and 5 Frostpine Rods. Iron Bars are smelted from Iron Ore and Brightcores, Malachite Slabs are found on snowy mountain tops, and Frostpine is harvested from trees in icy biomes. Once all materials are collected, open the Build Menu, select the Bus Station blueprint, and place it where you want. After building, you can interact with the station to fast travel across the map aboard the Battle Bus, greatly enhancing your mobility in the game.

The Bus Stations you’ll need to summon the Battle Bus to your Lego Fortnite village are a high-level construction. You’ll need to have reached the snowy Frostlands biome to build one.

You’ll need:

  • 4 iron bars
  • 2 malachite slabs
  • 6 frostpine
  • 3 rift shards

Those first three ingredients are easy enough to find in Frostlands biomes, but the last one – rift shards – a new and unique. Let’s talk about them.

Where to find rift shards

Rift Shards in Lego Fortnite Odyssey can be found primarily by defeating powerful Golems scattered across the Lost Isles, including the Jungle, Plains, and floating islands biomes. There are three types of Golems-Peely, Fishstick, and Tomato-with the Tomato Golem being the toughest to defeat, often requiring an Epic rarity pickaxe and good shields for protection. Each defeated Golem drops Rift Shards. Another way to obtain Rift Shards is by destroying Battle Bus Stations found throughout the overworld, marked by blue pillars of light and a pulsing blue glow on their roofs. Destroying a Bus Station with an Epic or better pickaxe yields three Rift Shards along with other materials. However, due to a current bug, naturally spawned Bus Stations can be indestructible in survival mode, making Golems the more reliable source for Rift Shards at this time.

Rift shards are a unique resource that you can only get by destroying Bus Stations. Since they’re made out of high-level (Frostlands) materials, you’ll need an epic pickaxe(8 obsidian slabs, 5 frostpine rods) to deal any damage.

To destroy one, you’ll need to find said bus stations.

Where to find Bus Stations

Bus Stations in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey are scattered throughout the island, typically found near villages and marked by a distinctive blue light and a pulsing antenna that makes them easier to spot from a distance. The island is divided into an 11×11 grid, and Bus Stations can be located roughly two tiles apart, anywhere within those 1×1 km tiles. Players can also use elevated areas or a spyglass to scout for these stations. Starting a new world guarantees at least one Bus Station near the spawn point, and additional stations can be discovered by exploring the map or built by the player using parts obtained from destroying existing stations. This network of Bus Stations enables fast travel across the map, significantly reducing travel time between distant locations.

The short answer is that you find Bus Stations by exploring the world.

You’ll find one near your world’s spawn point. Beyond that, all we can say is that they seem exceedingly rare. When you’re close to one, you may hear a low pulsing sound. Better yet, you can look for the blue light on the roof (especially at night).

Why can’t I destroy Bus Stations

Currently, many players are unable to destroy naturally occurring Bus Stations in Lego Fortnite Odyssey due to a known bug introduced in the August 2024 update. While you are supposed to be able to break down Bus Stations using an epic pickaxe to collect valuable resources like Rift Shards, the indestructibility issue affects both survival and sandbox modes for these original stations. Only Bus Stations that you have built yourself can be dismantled in sandbox mode, but not in survival. This limitation prevents players from gathering Rift Shards needed to construct additional Bus Stations, restricting fast travel options and progression until the developers release a fix.

Update (8/9/2024): The indestructible Bus Stations bug has been fixed. You can now tear down any Bus Station you find to gather up those precious rift shards.

Original story (8/7/2024): As of August 7, there’s currently a bug that makes the naturally spawned Bus Stations – the ones you have to destroy to collect rift shards – indestructible. Even in sandbox mode. You can destroy any Bus Stations you build yourself in sandbox mode, but there’s currently no solution for survival.

That means that there’s no way to gather the necessary rift shards at the moment. You can still use any Bus Station you find to fast travel to the Rebel Base, though.

Want to discover the secret to quick travel in Lego Fortnite Odyssey using the Battle Bus and Bus Stations

Want to zip across Lego Fortnite Odyssey without endless trekking? The secret lies in the new Battle Bus and Bus Stations network. With the v30.40 update, you can now fast travel between stations scattered across the map-just look for their signature blue lights and pulsing antennas. Once at a station, interact with the blue board to select your destination, confirm, and board the Battle Bus for a quick ride through a rift to your chosen spot.

You can also build your own Bus Stations at key locations, but you’ll need rare rift shards, which are only obtained by destroying existing stations-a process currently limited by in-game bugs. For now, explore to find stations, set up your travel network, and enjoy speedy journeys across every biome.

What’s the fastest way to locate all Bus Stations in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

The fastest way to locate all Bus Stations in Lego Fortnite Odyssey is to use a combination of map strategy and visual cues:

  • The main island is divided into an 11×11 grid, with each tile measuring 1×1 km. Starting from your main Bus Station, you can typically find each new station two tiles over, but the exact location within a tile can vary.

  • Bus Stations emit a distinctive blue light or blue radar-like pulse, making them visible from a distance. Climbing to a high vantage point and using a Spyglass can help you spot these signals more efficiently.

  • Enabling flying in settings (if available in your world) allows you to quickly travel from tile to tile, uncovering the fog of war and revealing new stations.

  • As you discover Bus Stations, they will be marked on your map for easy revisiting.

  • Some players recommend using specific world seeds or grid-based exploration methods to systematically cover the map and ensure you don’t miss any stations.

By combining grid-based exploration, high vantage points, and visual cues, you can efficiently locate all Bus Stations and unlock fast travel across the map.
