Hidden deep beneath Hytale’s rugged terrain lies adamantite-rare, brilliant, and fiercely contested. Finding it demands sharp eyes, the right tools, and a bit of courage to face what guards it.
How to find adamantite ore in Hytale
Adamantite ore appears in the Devastated Lands, the volcanic Zone 4 area marked by dark islands and burned forests on your map. Head for the Cinder Wastes subregion near the ocean, then search the purple stone patches where bright red ore veins stand out against the ashen ground. Explore both the surface and underground caves there, using a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe to mine any nodes you find. If surface veins feel scarce, push deeper into cave systems and check chests in notable points of interest across the Devastated Lands for extra adamantite ore and ingots.

Adamantite ore is only found in the Devastated Lands, which is the dark volcanic region on the map. Before you set out, we recommend that you deck yourself out in cobalt equipment, as there are a lot of dangerous enemies in these spooky lands.
Similar to other ores, you can find adamantite on the surface and in caves, but unlike the others, adamantite seems to be fairly sparse inside of caves. To make up for that, we recommend traveling from point of interest to point of interest as you can find adamantite ore and ingots inside of chests. To do so, open your map and look for any buildings or villages, and travel to each one. An easy point of interest to look out for is the Forgotten Temple Gateway as there will be high-tier loot chests inside.

What tools or gear are needed to mine Adamantite safely
To mine Adamantite safely in Hytale’s Devastated Lands (Zone 4), you’ll need specific tools for breaking the ore and gear to survive hostile mobs like Skeletonetor near lava pools and caves.
Required Tools
Use a Thorium Pickaxe (minimum tier) or Cobalt Pickaxe to harvest Adamantite ore veins, which appear purple/red on surfaces or underground.
Thorium Pickaxe requires linen scraps, thorium ingots, and medium leather at a workbench.
Recommended Gear
Equip a full Cobalt armor set (helm, cuirass, gauntlets, greaves) for fire resistance and combat protection against aggressive enemies.
Thorium weapons (sword, bow, or mace) and shield help clear mobs; upgrade to Tier 3 workbenches for Adamantite gear later.
Bring torches for dark caves and potions for health regeneration.
How to craft thorium gear and tools
Thorium gear and tools in Hytale are crafted from Thorium Ingots at Tier 2 crafting stations like the Workbench, Blacksmith’s Anvil, and Armorer’s Workbench. First, smelt Thorium Ore into Ingots using a Furnace fueled by wood or charcoal.
Required Workstations
Upgrade to Tier 2 stations (Workbench, Anvil, Armorer’s) using Thorium Ingots alongside iron bars, leather, and scraps-this enables all Thorium recipes.
