Below we list out the perks for Pokémon Go’s “Sweet Discoveries” event, including the Timed Research, boosted spawns, and more.
Pokémon Go ’Sweet Discoveries’ event Timed Research and reward
The Pokémon Go ’Sweet Discoveries’ event features both free and premium Timed Research quests running from April 24 to April 29, 2025. The free Timed Research involves tasks such as catching Pokémon, making nice throws, and using berries, with rewards including encounters with Munna, Bidoof, Bounsweet, Komala, Skwovet, Delibird, Cherubi, and items like Sweet Apple, Tart Apple, and a Mossy Lure Module. For $1.99, players can access Premium Timed Research with more tasks and rewards, including additional encounters with Applin and more Mossy Lure Modules. Completing these quests is essential to collect apples needed to evolve Applin into its evolutions Flapple and Appletun, and to enjoy event-exclusive Pokémon encounters and bonuses.

Is the “Sweet Discovers” paid research worth buying? Mossy Lures are pricey (180 coins each), so this makes the coin value alone worth it, if you need more lures. The rest of the encounters are just regular spawns for the event, so unless you really love Applin, I personally wouldn’t buy this bundle.

The possible hatches include Delibird, Cherubi, Munchlax, and Skwovet, all of which have an increased chance to appear as shiny when hatched. What rare Pokémon and shiny surprises await during Sweet Discoveries

Shiny surprises include increased shiny encounter and hatch rates for Delibird, Skwovet, and Cherubi, making these fan-favorites prime targets for shiny hunting during the event. Additionally, shiny forms of Shuckle and Komala are also available, with Shuckle’s shiny featuring a blue shell and Komala’s shiny showing a pink and creamy white log. Which rare Pokémon like Applin are most likely to appear during Sweet Discoveries
During the Sweet Discoveries event in Pokémon GO, rare Pokémon most likely to appear include Applin, which makes its debut and can be found by tapping on apples in the wild and at Mossy Lure Modules. Trainers have reported catching multiple Applin using mossy lures, with some catching over a dozen in short periods, indicating a decent spawn rate when using these lures. Other rare Pokémon that may appear during the event include Snorlax, Shuckle, and Komala, though these are less frequent encounters. The event also features increased spawns of Pokémon like Delibird, Skwovet, Cherubi, and others from the Galar region, but Applin remains the standout rare Pokémon due to its unique apple-related spawn mechanic.
