Genshin Impact Udumbara Pistil Locations and How to Collect Them

Udumbara Pistils hide in the quiet corners of Teyvat, waiting for the vigilant hunter who can read the earth and blossom a trail of clues.

During Genshin Impact‘s “As the Khvarena’s Light Shows: Nirodha” world quest in the “Khvarena of Good and Evil” quest line, you’ll receive another world quest called “Pale Fire.” This quest will have you run around Genshin Impact‘s newest region, Girdle of Sands, in search of Fravashi Trees, but you need six Udumbara Pistils to open a few of them. These can be tough to spot, so here’s where to find all six of them and how to get them.

All Udumbara Pistil locations in Genshin Impact

Udumbara Pistils appear in fixed spots across Sumeru, mainly in the Desert of Hadramaveth and near the Mausoleum of King Deshret. Check the giant flower stalk west of The Mausoleum of King Deshret teleport waypoint for one. Another sits on a high ledge northwest of that waypoint, reachable by climbing ruins. Players find a third inside a cave near the southern teleport in the Girdle of the Sands, behind a sealed door opened by Dendrogranum. A fourth grows on the southern cliffside of the Mausoleum of King Deshret, accessible via four-leaf sigils from the lower area. Respawn happens every two real-world days, so revisit after clearing them.

All six Udumbara Pistils can be found in the Realm of Farakhkert, and they’re all relatively close to each other. To retrieve the Udumbara Pistil, you must have completed the world quest “The Splendorous Sky That Day” and have the “Sorush” gadget. How to get every Udumbara Pistil

1. Travel to the area marked in the image above, but stay on the side of the cliff for easier access.
2. Use the “Sorush” gadget and move over to the heart symbol on the wall.
3. Hold Sorush’s interact ability (“E” by default) to bring the flower out of the wall and to make Sorush stay in place.
4. Interact with the four-leaf sigils in the air to fly over to the flower, and hover down on top of it.
5. Gather the Udumbara Pistil.

The third Udumbara Pistil has a few special instructions, which can be found below.

Third Udumbara Pistil location

1. Travel to the area marked in the image above.
2. Glide down to the large tree root with the special red four-leaf sigil on it.
3. Use the “Sorush” gadget and use Sorush’s interact ability to grab the special red four-leaf sigil.
4. Move the sigil to a location in the air above the heart symbol so you can glide down to the blooming flower.
5. Place the sigil and move back to the heart symbol on the wall.
6. Hold Sorush’s interact ability to bring out the flower and keep Sorush in the area.
7. Interact with the special red four-leaf sigil to fly above the flower, and glide down to gather the flower.

How to complete Awaken the Residual Pari quest step by step

Awaken the Residual Pari is part of Genshin Impact’s “Pale Fire” world quest chain in Sumeru, starting after speaking to Zurvan near Vourukasha Oasis and obtaining the Sorush gadget. You’ll awaken and purify 10 Fravashi Trees containing Residual Pari across the Girdle of Sands.​​

Prerequisites

Complete earlier “Golden Slumber” subquests to access the area and unlock Sorush. Teleport waypoints in Asipattravana Swamp, Tunigi Hollow, and Temir Mountains are key; hold Sorush’s skill (E) near trees and flowers to interact.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start with Zurvan: Teleport to Vourukasha Oasis, talk to Zurvan to begin “Awaken the Residual Pari in the Fravashi Trees.” Head to the first tree via waypoints.​​

2. Tree 1 (Asipattravana Swamp): Southwest of swamp waypoint, low cliff. Awaken Pari with Sorush, talk to it-it requests 3 Udumbara Pistils (locations from prior query). Collect and return.​​

3. Tree 2 (Above Tree 1): Cliff amid roots/Gray Crystals. Awaken Pari, fly alongside it with Sorush until it loops back.

4. Tree 3 (Tunigi Hollow Underground): Progress “Khvarena of Good and Evil” for access. Defeat enemies near tree.​

5. Tree 4 (North of Tunigi Hollow): Cliff under higher cliff/Gray Crystal. Collect 3 Pari fragments (one above tree, one below, one in crystal).​

6. Tree 5 (Underground Cavern): Near giant spine-shaped crystal. Gather 3 fragments around it.​

7. Tree 6 (Near Waypoint Tunnel): Enter cave by hilichurl camp, follow path. Needs 3 Udumbara Pistils again.​​

8. Tree 7 (Underground, Air Fragments): Collect 3 floating Pari fragments nearby.​

9. Tree 8 (Cliff East): Defeat Rifthounds, then interact.​

10. Tree 9 & 10 (Northeast Cliffs): Awaken, collect fragments or follow Pari; one involves 3 orbs in air, another defeating foes.​​

Completion

Return to Zurvan with 10 Plumes of Purifying Light for rewards, including a chest and achievement. Trees yield Primogems; use Four-Leaf Sigils for navigation.
