Avowed Totem of Revelations Locations and Buffs Guide

Seven elusive fragments lie scattered across the perilous wastes of Shatterscarp, each a vital piece of Avowed’s enigmatic Totem of Revelations. Hidden in caves, guarded by mysterious figures, and shrouded in riddles, these relics promise not only powerful buffs for your party but also secrets about the god Wael-if you can find them all and restore the Eyes of the Obscured.

All seven fragments of the Totem of Revelations are hidden around Shatterscarp and its capital, Thirdborn. As soon as you find one piece of the totem (or purchase the “Fragments of the Eyes” key item from Cinzia at the Dead Swordfish in Thirdborn), you’ll receive a quest to find and complete the Eyes of the Obscured. The quest, however, is full of cryptic riddles.

Here’s where to find all Totem of Revelations pieces in Shatterscarp in Avowed, and what bonuses you’ll receive upon completing the totem.

All Totem of Revelations locations in Avowed

The Totem of Revelations in Avowed is found in the Shatterscarp region and requires players to collect seven pieces: the totem base and six unique fragments. The quest begins by acquiring the Totem Base inside the Shrine to Wael, located within a cave in the southwestern part of Shatterscarp. After securing the base, the Ruby Eye can be found nearby within the same cave, with the help of an NPC called the Ward of the Eye. The remaining fragments are scattered throughout Shatterscarp: the Amethyst Eye is southeast of the Ancient Lakebed in a small cave; the Topaz Eye is inside a cave near Leviathan’s Hollow; the Agate Eye is hidden in the Sand Sea Ruins; the Sapphire Eye is at the Sand Sea Oasis; and the Emerald Eye sits atop a pillar in the Shark’s Teeth area. Once all pieces are collected and assembled at your party camp, the Totem of Revelations grants powerful passive buffs to your character.

There are seven pieces of the Totem of Revelations scattered around Shatterscarp.

To start reconstructing the totem, you’ll need to find the totem’s core (the Wael totem base), which we’ve labeled as number one in the map above. Once you’ve placed the totem’s core at the totem shrine in the party camp, you can add the totem’s fragments (numbers two through seven on the map) to gain powerful buffs. Each god totem grants up to six buffs – including bonuses to your attribute points – but you can only have one god totem active at a time.

Before searching for the totem pieces, we recommend turning on the “Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces” setting at the bottom of the UI menu. Turning on this setting will make god totem pieces visible on your compass, and make it slightly easier to pinpoint their exact location in-game.

Totem of Revelations core location (#1)

The Totem of Revelations core, also known as the Totem Base, is located inside the Shrine to Wael in the southwestern part of Shatterscarp. To reach it, travel to the Ancient Lakebed South Beacon and head west toward the shrine’s entrance. Once inside the cave, navigate through the broken terrain by jumping across gaps until you find a spacious chamber with the Totem Base resting on an altar. This core is the essential first piece needed to begin assembling the Totem of Revelations at your camp, allowing you to start collecting and attaching the remaining fragments for powerful buffs.

The Totem of Revelations core can be found inside the cave at the Shrine to Wael.

To find the totem core, follow these steps:

Travel to the Ancient Lakebed South Beacon.
Follow the path to the west and head to the southwestern corner of Shatterscarp to find the entrance to the Shrine to Wael.
Follow the path by jumping across the broken terrain to enter the Shrine to Wael.
Continue through the cave until you reach an open room with the Totem Core on an altar.

Before heading to another destination, you should grab the Ruby Eye, as it’s extremely close by.

Ruby Eye location (#2)

After collecting the Totem Base inside the Shrine to Wael in the southwestern part of Shatterscarp, you can find the Ruby Eye fragment nearby. From the totem pedestal, face the cave entrance and look for a narrow path to your left. Follow this path up and out of the cave until you encounter the Ward of the Eye, an NPC standing at the end of the trail. Speak with her and answer her question to receive the Ruby Eye, which will be sitting on the ground near her feet.

The Ruby Eye can be found on a ridge at the end of the Shrine to Wael.

To find the Ruby Eye, follow these steps:

After picking up the totem’s core, head down the ramp and turn to the left to find the another path in the cave.
Continue along the path until you reach an area that leads outside.
Interact with the Ward of the Eye and receive permission to collect the Ruby Eye.
Collect the Ruby Eye on the floor.

Amethyst Eye location (#3)

The Amethyst Eye, the third piece of the Totem of Revelations, is located southeast of the Ancient Lakebed in Shatterscarp. To find it, head toward the flame-scarred village of Scaedclef and look for a natural rock archway just south of the locked house in the area. The Amethyst Eye fragment rests on the ground beneath this archway, making it easy to spot once you reach the correct location. This spot is also near the Mourning Thirdborn NPC, providing a helpful landmark for your search.

The Amethyst Eye can be found on a rock beside the Mourning Thirdborn in the Ancient Lakebed.

To find the Amethyst Eye, follow these steps:

Travel to the Ancient Lakebed South Beacon.
Follow the path to the west until the path forks off towards two ponds to the north.
Take the northern path and head underneath the arching rock wall.
Collect the Amethyst Eye on top of a rock near the Mourning Thirdborn.

Sapphire Eye location (#4)

The Sapphire Eye totem fragment is located at the Sand Sea Oasis, found on the southeastern edge of the Great Sand Sea in Shatterscarp. To obtain it, head to the oasis and dive to the very bottom of the water, where you’ll spot the Sapphire Eye resting on a sarcophagus. This area is also relevant for the “One Last Drink” side quest, so you can make progress on both objectives at once. Be sure to search thoroughly underwater, as the fragment is not visible from the surface and requires a swim to reach.

The Sapphire Eye can be found at at the bottom of the lake in the Sand Sea Oasis.

To find the Sapphire Eye, follow these steps:

Travel to the Sand Sea Oasis Beacon on the eastern side of Shatterscarp.
Dive into the lake to find the Sapphire Eye in a sunken coffin.

Agate Eye location (#5)

The Agate Eye is located in the Sand Sea Ruins on the far eastern edge of Shatterscarp, just north of the Sand Sea Oasis and right beside the Sand Sea Ruins dungeon entrance. To reach it, you’ll find the main entrance to the ruins barred from the outside. Instead, circle around the left side of the ruins to find an alternate way in. Inside, be prepared to face high-level xaurips and two bears as you ascend using scaffolding to reach the second floor. Enter through a hole in the roof and drop into the room beyond the barred door; the Agate Eye fragment rests on a stone table next to a chest in an oddly lit room on the second level. Once collected, you can unlock the barred door from the inside and access the Sand Sea Ruins dungeon from the bottom floor. The Agate Eye grants the “Enigmatic Shield” buff, giving you 5% damage reduction for 10 seconds when activating a level 15 or 20 ability.

The Agate Eye can be found at the Sand Sea Ruins on the eastern side of Shatterscarp.

To find the Agate Eye, follow these steps:

Travel to the Shark’s Mouth Beacon.
Head southwest towards the Sand Sea Ruins.
Go up the stairs on the left side of the ruins’ entrance, and follow the path on the right.
Climb the ladder and turn to the right to find wooden platforms leading to a higher level.
Climb the platforms to the higher level and continue along the path to the next building.
Head to the other side of the large hole in the floor and drop onto the platform below.
Enter the lit room on the second floor to find the Agate Eye on the stone table.

Emerald Eye location (#6)

To find the Emerald Eye, head to the Shark’s Teeth area, located southeast of Ryngrim’s Domain in the Shatterscarp region. Start at the Shark’s Teeth Party Camp and cross the bridge to the southeast, where you’ll encounter a group of Skeleton Rangers-clear them out to make the area safer. Look for an incomplete statue on your right, with wooden scaffolding and platforms attached. Climb to the top of the statue using the scaffolding, and you’ll find the Emerald Eye next to the Hoarder’s Note. There’s also a chest nearby that may contain valuable crafting materials. Be cautious, as this area can be dangerous due to high-level enemies nearby.

To find the Emerald Eye, follow these steps:

Travel to the Sharks Teeth Party Camp.
Cross the bridge to the southeast to find an incomplete statue on your right.
Climb to the top of the statue by mantling onto the scaffolding.
Collect the Emerald Eye beside the Hoarder’s Note.

Topaz Eye location (#7)

The Topaz Eye, the seventh piece of the Totem of Revelations, is located inside Leviathan’s Hollow in the northwestern part of Shatterscarp. To reach it, start from the Sulfur Mines Base Camp and head northeast toward the massive Leviathan skull marking the camp’s entrance. Enter the Xaurip camp and dive into the pool beneath the skull to access the hollow via an underwater passage. Once inside, prepare to face numerous Xaurip enemies. Climb to the upper section of the camp, where you’ll find the Topaz Eye resting on a stone table next to a corpse at a high vantage point. Collecting this fragment is essential for completing the Totem of Revelations and unlocking powerful passive buffs for your party.

The Topaz Eye can be found at the Leviathan’s Hollow in the northwestern region of Shatterscarp.

To find the Topaz Eye, follow these steps:

Travel to the Deadfall Highlands Party Camp.
Follow the path to the north and enter the Xaurip camp.
Dive into the water in the Leviathan skull’s mouth and resurface onto the ramp ahead of you.
Climb up the wooden platforms.
Go up the stairs on the right to find a set of stairs on your left.
Go down the stairs to find the Topaz Eye on a stone table beside a corpse.

All Totem of Revelations bonuses

Collecting all seven pieces of the Totem of Revelations in Avowed unlocks a powerful set of six passive buffs that remain active as long as the totem is equipped at your camp. These bonuses are: Fickle Winds, which causes critical hits to deal high random accumulation; Disappearing Trick, making your Second Wind ability cast Shadowing Beyond; Magic in the Blood, allowing Essence restoration to also heal a small amount of health; Sight Beyond Eyes, granting a +5% critical hit chance; Enigmatic Shield, which provides 5% damage reduction for 10 seconds after activating a level 15 or 20 ability; and The Obscured’s Vantage, increasing your Intellect and Perception by 2 points each. These buffs offer significant advantages for a wide range of playstyles, making the Totem of Revelations a valuable asset for any character build.

Once you have all of the Totem of Revelations pieces, head to the Totem Shrine at your party camp and reassemble the Eyes of the Obscured. Activate the totem to receive the following buffs:

Fickle Winds: Critical hits deal high random accumulation
Disappearing Trick: Second Wind casts Shadowing Beyond
Magic in the Blood: Restoring Essence also restores a small amount of health

To complete the Totem of Revelations quest in Avowed, you need to find seven hidden fragments of Wael’s totem, known as the Eyes of the Obscured, scattered across Shatterscarp. Here are the precise locations for each piece:

1. Totem Base (Eyes of the Obscured)

Found inside the Shrine to Wael, located on the southwestern edge of Shatterscarp. Enter the cave, follow the linear path, and you’ll find the base on a pedestal under a mural in the central chamber.

2. Ruby Eye

From the totem base inside the Shrine to Wael, look for a path on the left as you face the cave entrance. Follow it up to meet the Ward of the Eye NPC, who will give you the Ruby Eye after a brief conversation.

3. Sapphire Eye

Located at the Sand Sea Oasis on the southeastern edge of Shatterscarp. Dive into the oasis and search at the bottom to find the Sapphire Eye on a sarcophagus.

4. Amethyst Eye

Hidden in Leviathan’s Hollow, an area within Shatterscarp. Explore the hollow to locate the Topaz Eye.

Located at the Sand Sea Ruins. Search the ruins thoroughly to uncover this fragment.

Tips for Easier Tracking:

Purchase the “Fragments of the Eyes” scroll from Cinzia at The Dead Swordfish bar in Thirdborn for 500 coins to get clues for each location, though it’s not required to find the fragments.
Enable the ‘Com – God Totem’ setting in the UI menu to make the fragments appear on your compass, simplifying the search.
