Donkey Kong Bananza The Divide Banandium Gems and Banana Locations Guide

Guides

Dive into The Divide, the intriguing fourth layer of Donkey Kong Bananza, where hidden Banandium Gems sparkle amidst vibrant pink and blue goo. This short but tricky stage challenges you to explore every nook and cranny, from stomping fierce enemies to navigating goo-covered ruins, offering a rewarding hunt for golden bananas before you choose your path to the Freezer or Forest Layers.

The Divide is a fairly short level, so it’s extremely easy to blitz through and miss all of the bananas hidden inside. Make sure to look up and down as you traverse the area or else you’ll miss out on a bunch of Banandium Gems and a couple familiar faces. The Divide also acts as a path to your next destination, but this time you’re given a choice – the Freezer Layer or the Forest Layer?

Below, we list where to find all of the Banandium Gems in the The Divide Layer we’ve found so far. We’re still updating this guide with more golden bananas as we find them.

Sublayer 400 Banandium Gems

In Sublayer 400 of The Divide in Donkey Kong Bananza, players can find a collection of Banandium Gems scattered throughout the level. This sublayer features vibrant pink and blue goo and includes several unique locations where these valuable golden bananas are hidden. Key spots include defeating the Stompenclomper to access hidden areas and using environmental features like the pink goo to create climbable paths that lead to gems. As a relatively short stage, it’s easy to miss some Banandium Gems, so thorough exploration both above and below the terrain is recommended to ensure you collect all nine gems in this part of The Divide.

We’ve found nine Banandium Gems in Sublayer 400 in The Divide Layer.

#1: Stomped Stompenclomper!

Defeat Stompenclopper in the Canyon Layer and then jump into the hole to land near a gem worth five bananas.

#2: A Switcheroo Boost

At the end of the bridge, look over the edge to find an outcropping that leads to the Ancient Ruin. Drop down and head inside to find a challenge full of pink and blue goo.

As you break the pink goo, it’ll create blue goo and vice versa. For the first gem, break through enough of the pink goo straight ahead to create a climbable blue goo path on the other side. There’s a gem waiting on the platform it leads to.

#3: A Switcheroo Breakthrough

From there, head to the backside of the level. You’ll need to smash a bit of the pink goo on the left to create climbable wall on the right. Then smash the pink goo on the right to create a way to climb up the left side. You’ll notice that there’s a stone wall on the very left corner of the blue goo patch on the left, so create a blue goo bridge by destroying the bottom layer of the pink goo. Make sure to leave enough space for you to punch through wall and head inside, where you’ll find the next banana.

#4: A Masterful Switcheroo Maneuver

Climb to the top from there and punch enough of the pink goo at the center of the map to form a blue goo platform below you. You’ll need to make it high enough that you’re able to get into the underside of the cage holding the gem. If you start digging a little above the middle of the pink goo, that should be a perfect height.

#5: Divide Quiz Master

With your back to the Teeleporter, look up and to the right. You’ll see a Quiz Master on a floating platform. Throw a chunk at it to bring him to the ground and take his quiz to get a gem.

If you’re struggling with the quiz questions, here are the answers:

Question

Answer

What do some of the salvager monkeys have attached to their fishing lines? A magnet
What was running wild inside the Banandium Refinery? A mixer
What gets restored when you sit on a chair or bench? Health

#6: Switcheroo Through the Wall

With your back to the Teeleporter, go to your right and jump down onto the platform to find a room with pink goo. Smash it to form a blue stairwell on the other side of the wall. Climb back up and drop off the opposite side this time to climb the stairs and reach the gem.

#7: Safe-Landing Switcheroo

When facing the Teeleporter, walk to the edge of the map on your left and then turn right to drop down a step. Look over the edge on your left and you’ll see another platform you can drop down to. Climb along the ceiling, smashing the pink goo on each side to form a blue platform, and proceed to the banana.

#8: Battle: Uproot the Brute

If you walk past the Teeleporter on either side, you’ll notice that you can drop down to a secret area. Follow the goo paths on either side and you’ll uncover an Ancient Ruin. Complete the battle course by pulling the turnips until you reach a Crockoid to defeat for a banana.

#9: Cranky’s Divide Rant

Destroy the pink goo cube beside the Teeleporter to create a climbable blue wall on the other side. Climb the goo wall to reach the platform above the Teeleporter and look up when you arrive to see a platform floating in the air. Toss a chunk at it to lower it to find none other than Cranky Kong. Listen to his rant to get a Banandium Gem.

What hidden secrets lie behind the tight spaces in The Divide

The tight spaces in The Divide in Donkey Kong Bananza often conceal hidden secrets such as Banandium Gems, golden bananas, and tricky pathways requiring careful exploration. These narrow areas encourage players to stomp enemies, navigate through goo-covered ruins, and fully explore every nook and cranny to uncover valuable collectibles and unlock alternative paths, such as leading to the Freezer or Forest Layers. The hidden gems and rewards behind these tight spaces make The Divide a short but challenging stage that tests your exploration skills and attention to detail[previous answer].

Unfortunately, there are no specific additional detailed secrets explicitly mentioned for the tight spaces in The Divide from the new web search beyond this context about the game stage. The term “The Divide” elsewhere relates to a completely different game (Fallout: New Vegas) and does not apply here. Thus, the relevant hidden secrets behind the tight spaces are mainly about elusive collectibles and alternate routes in this Donkey Kong Bananza level.

What are the dark truths hidden within The Divide’s ruins and tunnels

The “dark truths” hidden within The Divide’s ruins and tunnels vary significantly depending on the context, but the most relevant and detailed accounts come from the Fallout: New Vegas universe, specifically the area called The Divide in the Lonesome Road add-on.

In this context, The Divide is a devastated, cracked, and blighted landscape formed after a catastrophic nuclear detonation triggered by malfunctioning silos beneath the land. This event caused a massive earthquake that split the land in two, flaying people alive and leaving behind a radioactive wasteland filled with twisted remnants of civilization. The ruins and tunnels beneath The Divide are filled with remnants of this disaster-destroyed towns like Hopeville and Ashton, military facilities, and old world technology. The environment is harsh and dangerous, featuring an artificial storm that can literally strip the skin off anyone exposed.

Moreover, within the tunnels dwell mutated creatures known as Tunnelers, possibly mutated humans or other species as a result of the Great War’s radiation and fallout. These creatures add to the menace and mystery of The Divide’s underground labyrinth. The tunnels themselves held ominous secrets and were once connected to launch silos that nearly triggered full-scale devastation again. The story of The Divide is tied to tragic loss, dark secrets of betrayal, and devastation, serving as a bleak monument to human conflict and technological failure.

If your question refers instead to “The Divide” in Donkey Kong Bananza, there are no known lore-based “dark truths.” The ruins and tunnels here mainly contain hidden collectibles such as Banandium Gems and alternate paths to other layers, with no dark or sinister backstory documented.

In summary,

  • Fallout: New Vegas’s The Divide features dark truths of nuclear devastation, twisted landscapes, mutated creatures, and lost communities beneath ruins and tunnels.

  • Donkey Kong Bananza’s The Divide reveals hidden collectibles and tricky navigation challenges with no known dark mysteries or truths.
