Blue Prince Laboratory Periodic Table Puzzle Solution Guide

Guides

Unlocking the secrets of Blue Prince’s Laboratory hinges on cracking a cryptic periodic table puzzle-where numbers replace elements, and decoding them reveals a mysterious instruction that could change your entire game. Ready to dive into this electrifying challenge and power up the Laboratory machine? Here’s how to decipher the code and pull the right levers to unlock a crucial permanent upgrade and new lore in Blue Prince.

Below, in this Blue Prince guide, we’ll tell you how to solve both Laboratory puzzles, including how to get the period table code and how to power up the Laboratory machine.

How to solve the periodic table puzzle in the Laboratory

To solve the periodic table puzzle in the Laboratory in Blue Prince, first locate two key items on the walls: one periodic table with numbers in certain squares and another complete periodic table with element symbols. Use the numbered positions on the first table to find the corresponding element symbols on the complete table. This sequence of elements spells out the message “PUSH THREE UP AFTER NINE.” After powering the Laboratory by routing electricity from the Boiler Room, use this code to flip the levers on the machine in the Laboratory-first the ninth lever, then the third. Successfully doing so will activate the machine and unlock the Blackbridge Grotto, granting a permanent upgrade that allows access to one offline terminal per day.

There are two things you’re looking for in the Laboratory to solve the first puzzle and get a hint for the second: the code (a blank periodic table with numbers) and a copy of the periodic table.

The code is on the bulletin board next to the machine with all the levers in one corner (first image above). The periodic table is in the opposite corner above a bench with a microscope (second image).

Once you have both, you can start to piece together the answer. Take the numbers in order from the code sheet and match them to the atomic symbols (one- or two-letter abbreviations) on the filled-in periodic table.

Do that, and you’ll get a sentence (after adding some spaces): PUSH THREE UP AFTER NINE.

How to power the machine in the Laboratory

To power the machine in the Laboratory in Blue Prince, you first need to ensure the Laboratory is connected to a powered Boiler Room. This can be done by drafting the Boiler Room adjacent to the Laboratory or linking them via ceiling ducts that transport steam. Once the Boiler Room is activated and steam flows into the Laboratory, the machine will have power. Then, using the decoded periodic table puzzle message “Push three up after nine,” you must pull lever number nine followed by lever number three on the machine. This sequence powers on the machine, unlocking the Blackbridge Grotto and granting access to a valuable permanent upgrade.

Before adjusting the electricity levels on the machine, you need to turn it on first.

To power the machine found in the Laboratory in Blue Prince, you’ll need to connect a powered Boiler Room to the Laboratory. This can be done by connecting a Boiler Room directly to the Laboratory or through the ducts that can be found on the ceiling. These ducts will carry steam to each room that its connected to – as long as the room has ducts. A few examples of rooms with ducts include the Security Room, Passageway, and Archives.

Once the Laboratory has been powered by the Boiler Room, you can now use the solution from the periodic table puzzle on the machine.

First, pull lever #9 and then pull lever #3 to power and unlock the Blackbridge Grotto, a permanent addition that allows you to access one offline terminal from the network each day.

What’s the secret behind deciphering the periodic table code in Blue Prince

The secret to deciphering the periodic table code in Blue Prince’s Laboratory puzzle lies in matching two periodic table charts found in the room. One chart has numbers in place of elements, while the other is a complete periodic table with all element symbols. By correlating the numbered positions on the first chart with the corresponding element symbols on the complete table in numerical order, you reveal a hidden message: “PUSH THREE UP AFTER NINE.” This phrase instructs you to first flip the ninth switch and then the third switch on the machine, which powers it up and unlocks a crucial permanent upgrade in the game. Before you can use the machine, however, you must ensure the Laboratory is powered by connecting it to the Boiler Room or another power source nearby.

What clues help me understand the periodic table code in Blue Prince

The key clues to understanding the periodic table code in Blue Prince’s Laboratory puzzle are found by examining two distinct periodic table charts within the room. One chart, located next to the machine with numbered switches, shows a mostly blank periodic table but with numbers in certain element positions. The other chart, found across the room above a workbench, is a complete periodic table with all element symbols displayed. By matching the numbers on the first chart in numerical order to the corresponding element symbols on the complete chart, you reveal a hidden phrase: “PUSH THREE UP AFTER NINE.” This phrase instructs the player to flip the ninth switch first, then the third switch on the Laboratory machine to power it up and unlock a permanent upgrade. Additionally, powering the Laboratory requires connecting it to the Boiler Room or another power source, which is another crucial clue to fully solving the puzzle.
