Destiny 2 Xur Location and Exotic Inventory for August 4-8

Xur has touched down once again, bringing a fresh stock of exotic treasures and legendary gear to tempt Guardians. From Aug. 4-8, his mysterious inventory could hold the edge you need for your next PvE grind or Trials run-if you can find where he’s hiding this week.

Appearing in the game weekly from Friday until reset, the merchant hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny 2 – including inside the Tower.

Here is where to find Xur in Destiny 2, and what he is selling.

Xur location this week

Xur stands on a massive tree in Watcher’s Grave on Nessus this week, Aug. 4-8. Head to the Nessus landing zone at Watcher’s Grave, then climb the red moss-covered roots of the tree ahead to reach him. His inventory features Merciless fusion rifle, Shinobu’s Vow Hunter gauntlets, ACD/0 Feedback Fence Titan gauntlets, and Crown of Tempests Warlock helmet.

This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, hanging out on the massive tree in the Watcher’s Grave.

As of Season of the Lost, Xur also sells a collection of old armor and weapons – similar to Banshee-44 and Ada-1. Usually, these items are difficult to find and from seasons long past. Each item (whether armor or weaponry) costs only 1,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.

What is worth buying from Xur this week?

Xur offers a strong Icefall Mantle exotic chest armor for Titans this week, pairing spike damage reduction with an Arc Soul on grenade throws for sustained boss DPS. Hunters should grab the Wormgod Caress gauntlets, which boost melee damage stacks up to 400% on kills, ideal for PvE punching builds. Warlocks get Claws of Avarice gloves that spawn a healing rift after charged melee hits, shining in endgame content. Skip the legacy exotics unless you lack them; focus on these high-impact pieces if your build needs them.

Here’s some more specific advice on Xur’s wares this week:

Merciless

Merciless Exotic fusion rifle is great for single-target damage in Destiny 2. Its Exotic perk, Conserve Momentum, causes it to charge its fusion bursts faster for every non-lethal hit you strike. Its intrinsic perk is Impetus, which gives the gun a massive, temporary boost in damage if you reload after getting a kill – like an Exotic version of the Kill-clip perk.

Merciless is especially good at taking on bosses with long damage phases during which you might otherwise run out of power ammo. If you’re able to activate Impetus during a boss battle (usually by killing one of their many minions) and use it on said boss, you’ll see your damage numbers skyrocket.

Shinobu’s Vow

Shinobu’s Vow are gauntlets added in Curse of Osiris. Their exotic perk, New Tricks, improves your Skip Grenade and grants you an extra Skip Grenade charge. The worth of this exotic comes down to personal preference. Anything that gives you an extra grenade charge is great. If you like playing Arcstrider and prefer using a grenade-boosting exotic rather than the Raiden Flux chest piece, pick up these gauntlets. If that doesn’t apply to you, skip it.

ACD/0 Feedback Fence

The Titan Exotics are the ACD/0 Feedback Fence. These gauntlets have the Exotic perk Fury Conductors, which causes melee kills to build up energy. When you get hit with a melee attack, you release that energy in an explosion. Feedback Fence got a buff recently, making these gauntlets pretty useful in the Crucible.

Crown of Tempests

Crown of Tempests is a pretty great Warlock Exotic, especially if you like Stormcaller. This helmet’s main perk, Conduction Tines, causes Arc ability kills to recharge your Arc abilities and increase the duration of your Stormtrance Super. If you don’t have this helmet for your Warlock, you should definitely consider picking it up.

Exotic Cipher quest

Players can earn an Exotic Cipher this week through Xur’s special quest, which often involves completing a series of objectives like strikes, Crucible matches, or Gambit rounds. This currency is used to purchase rare exotics from the Monument to Lost Light in the Tower, offering a chance to acquire older weapons or armor pieces that might be missing from a player’s collection.

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the Tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.

As of January 20, 2026, Xur has concluded his standard weekend appearance, which ran from Friday, January 16, through Tuesday, January 20. He will return with a refreshed inventory this Friday, January 23, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.

Xur is now permanently located in the Bazaar section of the Tower. He is positioned in the back alleyway near the Ramen Shop. He will reappear in this same location starting this Friday.

During his January 16-20, 2026 visit, Xur was located in the Bazaar area of the Tower. Following the changes introduced in The Final Shape, this has become his permanent base of operations in Destiny 2, replacing his previous rotating locations on planets like Nessus or the EDZ.

Finding Xur in the Tower

To reach him, follow these steps within the Tower:

Fast travel to the Courtyard and head right toward the Bazaar.
Pass by Ikora Rey and continue toward the back of the district.
He is tucked away in a small alcove or alleyway situated directly to the right of the Ramen Shop.

Destiny 1 Location

For players still active in the original Destiny, Xur also appeared during the same dates (January 16-18, 2026). In that game, he was located in the Tower North, specifically in the corridor just before the Hall of Guardians, standing next to the robot Arcite 99-40.
