High in the frozen peaks of Hebra lies Rito Village, buried beneath fierce winds and treacherous cliffs. Reaching it in Tears of the Kingdom isn’t just about climbing a mountain-it’s about mastering the skies, reading the weather, and using every tool at your disposal to survive the cold.
Getting to Rito Village from Lookout Landing
From Lookout Landing, head northwest through Hyrule Field and follow the main road toward New Serenne Stable. Continue past Tabantha Great Bridge to reach the entrance to the Tabantha Frontier region. Be prepared for colder weather as you approach the Hebra Mountains, so carry or cook meals with warming effects. Following the path north will eventually lead you to Rito Village, perched above Lake Totori.
Getting to the Rito Village area itself isn’t too bad, as you can take a road (whether it’s on a horse, on foot, or on some kind of abomination Zonai device creation) along this path, if you so choose to:

That said, you can also just skip the path, scale up mountains, and cross the canyon of your own means.
Once you get close, you’ll notice a broken bridge stopping you from actually accessing Rito Village.
How to get to Rito Village from the broken bridge
From the broken bridge near the Lucky Clover Gazette, chop down the nearby trees and use Ultrahand to fuse the logs into a long makeshift platform that spans the gap. Attach a couple of logs crosswise to widen it so you can walk safely, then lay the structure across the chasm and carefully cross to the opposite cliff. Once you reach solid ground, follow the path straight ahead through the snow and up the slope to arrive at Rito Village itself.โ
If you want a whole adventure, you can head to the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower, which is north of Rito Village, and just glide in from there. However, that is definitely not the solution the game wants you to take, as it’s longer and bit more of a pain in the butt than what you’re supposed to do.
To cross the broken bridge outside of Rito Village, pick up a Hylian pine cone from a nearby tree and drop it on the campfire in front of the broken bridge.

This will create a massive updraft that you can ride and safely cross over the bridge with. You’ll also learn this great trick in the process: Hylian pine cone campfire = updraft! (Who needs Revali’s Gale anymore, amirite?)
You can also just build a heinously long bridge made from logs from chopped down trees, but … we just recommend using the Hylian pine cone.
Best route to Rito Village from Central Hyrule
The most reliable route from Central Hyrule to Rito Village in Tears of the Kingdom is to follow the main northwest road from Lookout Landing all the way to Tabantha Bridge Stable, then continue to the Lucky Clover Gazette and glide over the broken bridge into the village. This keeps you on roads, near stables, and minimizes dangerous detours.โโ
Step 1: From Lookout Landing to New Serenne Stable
-
Exit Lookout Landing by the main gate and take the road heading northwest across Hyrule Field.โ
-
Stay on the road until you reach New Serenne Stable, which sits at a major crossroads in northwestern Central Hyrule.โ
Step 2: New Serenne Stable to Tabantha Bridge Stable
-
From New Serenne, follow the road west into Hyrule Ridge, keeping to the path instead of cutting through hills and forests.โ
-
Continue along this road until you arrive at Tabantha Bridge Stable, right before the huge Tabantha Great Bridge.โ
Step 3: Cross into Tabantha Frontier
-
Cross the Tabantha Great Bridge heading west; this takes you from Hyrule Ridge into Tabantha Frontier.โโ
-
After the bridge, stay on the curving road as it winds around Piper Ridge and Nero Hill, ignoring side paths that lead into colder Hebra areas for now.โ
Step 4: Reach Lucky Clover Gazette
-
Follow the road through the rocky canyon; Rito Village’s tall spire becomes visible off to your right as you go.โ
-
The road leads directly to the Lucky Clover Gazette, a former stable building positioned just before a large gap with a broken bridge facing Rito Village.โโ
Step 5: Cross the broken bridge to Rito Village
-
Near the Gazette, collect Hylian Pine Cones and use the campfire by the broken bridge.โโ
-
Toss a pine cone into the fire to create an updraft, open your paraglider, ride the wind up, then glide across the gap to the far side of the bridge and follow the small bridges and path directly into Rito Village.โโ
Tips for an easier trip
-
Ride a horse from Lookout Landing or New Serenne; roads auto-guide mounted travel, making the route almost hands-free.โ
-
Bring at least basic cold resistance (spicy food or early armor) so you’re comfortable once you start getting closer to the Hebra region beyond Rito Village.โ
Which tower should I activate before heading to Rito Village
The most useful tower to activate before heading to Rito Village in Tears of the Kingdom is Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. This gives you a clear map of the northwest route from Central Hyrule and an easy glide toward Tabantha Frontier and the Lucky Clover Gazette on the way to Rito Village.โ
Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower
-
Lindor’s Brow sits northwest of Lookout Landing, roughly along the road that leads past New Serenne Stable toward Hyrule Ridge.โ
-
Activating it reveals a big chunk of the map covering the path you’ll use to ride or walk toward Tabantha Bridge Stable and the Gazette near Rito Village.โ
Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (secondary)
-
Rospro Pass Skyview Tower, north of Rito Village in Hebra, is also very helpful later, especially for snowy mountain navigation and the Wind Temple route.โ
-
Once activated, you can launch and glide directly south toward the tall rock spire that houses Rito Village, making returns there extremely fast.โ
