How to get Pumpkin Tickets in Monster Hunter Now

To get Pumpkin Tickets in Monster Hunter Now, participate in the Halloween Pumpkin Hunt event by completing special event quests and hunting specific monsters. Event quests appear under a special tab with a pumpkin icon and involve tasks like gathering materials and slaying monsters. Completing these quests will reward you with Pumpkin Tickets, and as you finish each set, new quests will appear until the event ends. Additionally, you can earn extra Pumpkin Tickets by defeating Kulu-Ya-Ku monsters holding pumpkin-like rocks, which appear in the wild during the event period (usually until October 31). Collecting Pumpkin Tickets is how you source the event-exclusive Jack-o’-Head armor piece. You can get Pumpkin Tickets in Monster Hunter Now by:

  • Completing Pumpkin Hunt Quests in the Special tab during the Halloween event (18 total: one per quest in the first step, five per quest in the second)

This means, until Saturday morning, you’ll be capped with how many Pumpkin Tickets you can earn until pumpkin rock Kulu-Ya-Ku makes its debut.

Both of the above sources are available to players who have reached Hunter Rank 11 and above.

How to get Jack-o’-Head armor, upgrade requirements

To obtain the Jack-o’-Head armor in Monster Hunter Now’s Halloween event, you need to collect at least 10 Pumpkin Tickets, which are earned by completing special event quests and defeating Kulu-Ya-Ku monsters carrying pumpkin-like rocks. Once crafted, the armor grants the Solidarity skill that boosts team attack power, with the effect multiplied by five during the event. Upgrading the Jack-o’-Head armor requires a total of 70 Pumpkin Tickets to reach full upgrade, after which additional materials like Kulu parts and bones are needed for further enhancement. However, upgrading mainly increases defense and does not improve skills, so many players recommend crafting the armor but not investing heavily in upgrades beyond the initial crafting, especially since the event multiplier ends when the event concludes.

To get the Jack-o’-Head armor in Monster Hunter Now’s Halloween event, you must first earn 10 Pumpkin Tickets.

Here’s how it looks in-game courtesy of Twitter:

Upgrading the armor then requires further Pumpkin Tickets, which can only be sourced from the Halloween event. Developer Niantic has said once you have spent 70 Pumpkin Tickets on Jack-o’-Head armor upgrades, further improvements will then only regular crafting materials. As such, this is a good number to aim for if you prefer to continue upgrading after the event ends.

Jack-o’-Head armor skill explained

The Jack-o’-Head armor in Monster Hunter Now features the unique Solidarity skill, which boosts the attack power of hunters when more party members also have this skill active. During the Halloween Pumpkin Hunt event, this effect is amplified fivefold, making it exceptionally powerful for group hunts. However, once the event ends, the multiplier disappears, and the armor is mainly beneficial in multiplayer scenarios with three or four players. While crafting the Jack-o’-Head armor is worthwhile for the event’s duration due to its significant attack boost, upgrading it is generally not recommended since upgrades only add defense without enhancing the skill, and the armor becomes less effective post-event.

Once equipped, the Jack-o’-Head armor has the skill Solidarity (Pumpkin Hunt). This is a party-based skill where having multiple players with the skill active increases attack power. During the Halloween event, this effect is increased by five.

As such, this is a rather situational skill, as not only do you need to be hunting with other players, but doing so during the Halloween event (which ends after Oct. 31) will see the most benefit.

It’s entirely possible this skill will appear in future armor pieces to increase its potency (such as during next year’s Halloween event), so crafting one now could be a sound investment for those looking to play with other hunters. Otherwise, for solo players, it might be simply a piece to add to your collection, especially if the ability to transmog (change the appearance of your armor) comes to the game one day.

Where to find pumpkin rock Kulu-Ya-Ku in Monster Hunter Now

During Monster Hunter Now’s Halloween event, the Pumpkin Rock Kulu-Ya-Ku can be found across all three main habitats: Forest, Desert, and Swamp. This special variant, carrying a pumpkin-like rock, appears more frequently from October 28 to October 31, making it possible to encounter it anywhere on the map. Defeating these festive Kulu-Ya-Ku rewards players with Pumpkin Tickets, which are essential for crafting and upgrading the event-exclusive Jack-o’-Head armor. Notably, any Pumpkin Rock Kulu-Ya-Ku marked with paintballs during the event will continue to drop Pumpkin Tickets even after the event ends, allowing extra time to collect rewards.

A Halloween-themed Kulu-Ya-Ku holding a pumpkin rock will “appear in larger numbers than usual” from Saturday, Oct. 28 at 9 a.m. local time until the end of Oct. 31.

By its very nature, Kulu-Ya-Ku appears in all three habitats (Forest, Desert, and Swamp) meaning they can appear anywhere on the map.

Beyond the novelty of battling a Halloween-themed monster, taking down these special pumpkin rock Kulu-Ya-Ku will reward you with Pumpkin Tickets.

Niantic has confirmed any pumpkin rock Kulu-Ya-Ku tagged with paintballs during the event will continue to drop Pumpkin Tickets after the event ends – giving you extra time if needed.

Want to know the secret to quickly earning Pumpkin Tickets in Monster Hunter Now Halloween event

To quickly earn Pumpkin Tickets during the Monster Hunter Now Halloween event, focus on two main strategies:

  • Complete Halloween-themed event quests: These limited-time quests are your primary source of Pumpkin Tickets. As you finish each set, new quests will appear until you reach the event’s quest cap, so keep grinding through them as fast as possible.

  • Hunt Pumpkin Rock Kulu-Ya-Ku: From October 28 to October 31, Kulu-Ya-Ku holding pumpkin-like rocks will spawn more frequently in all habitats. Defeating these special Kulu-Ya-Ku, especially those with a star rating of 4 or higher, will net you additional Pumpkin Tickets. Tagging them with paintballs during the event allows you to hunt them later and still earn tickets.

For maximum efficiency, prioritize higher-star Kulu-Ya-Ku and don’t skip any event quests. This dual approach will help you rack up Pumpkin Tickets fast and unlock the Jack-o’-Head armor before the event ends.

What’s the fastest way to farm Pumpkin Tickets during Halloween quests

The fastest way to farm Pumpkin Tickets during Monster Hunter Now’s Halloween quests is to focus on two key activities:

  • Complete all available Halloween event quests as soon as they appear. These quests are the main source of Pumpkin Tickets, but they are limited-after the third set, no more tickets are awarded from quests. Prioritize finishing them quickly to maximize your ticket haul before the questline ends.

  • Hunt special Kulu-Ya-Ku monsters holding pumpkin rocks. During the event, these monsters spawn more frequently and drop extra Pumpkin Tickets, especially at higher star levels. Use paintballs to tag them for later if you can’t fight them immediately.

By combining rapid quest completion with targeted hunts of pumpkin-carrying Kulu-Ya-Ku, you’ll maximize your Pumpkin Ticket gains before the event concludes.
