Pokemon GO Shiny Shroomish Guide and Best Movesets for Battles

Guides

Can Shroomish be shiny in Pokémon Go? Absolutely! Since its shiny form was introduced during Pokémon GO Fest 2022, trainers have been eager to spot the rare orange-colored Shroomish amidst the usual green ones. With events like the Shroomish Spotlight Hour boosting spawn rates and offering double Stardust, the hunt for this elusive shiny variant has become an exciting challenge for Pokémon Go enthusiasts everywhere.

Shroomish and Breloom both turn a lovely clear orange and yellow when shiny. Breloom is both usable in some PvP leagues and as a fighting-type attacker in PvE. Not bad, mushroom with hands. Not bad.

What is the shiny rate for Shroomish in Pokémon Go?

The shiny rate for Shroomish in Pokémon Go is approximately 1 in 500 under normal conditions, according to research by The Silph Road. This rate applies during regular gameplay and spotlight hours, as these events do not boost shiny rates like Community Days do. Therefore, encountering a shiny Shroomish remains a matter of chance, making it important for players to catch as many Shroomish as possible to increase their odds.

As per old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny rate for Pokémon on a regular day is approximately one in 500. Shroomish is not a confirmed Pokémon that gets a “permaboost” (meaning that it’s a rare spawn and thus gets a boosted shiny rate).

What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?

Not much, unfortunately. It appears to be random chance. Shiny Pokémon catch rates are set by developer Niantic, and they are typically only boosted during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or in Legendary Raids. There are no consumable items that boost shiny Pokémon rates.

Where can I find a list of available shiny Pokémon?

Can I find a shiny Shroomish during the next Spotlight Hour

You cannot find a shiny Shroomish during the next Spotlight Hour unless it specifically features Shroomish. The most recent Shroomish Spotlight Hour was on October 15, 2024, from 6 to 7 PM local time, when Shroomish spawns were increased and shiny Shroomish could be encountered along with a 2× Stardust bonus.

For other Spotlight Hours, while shiny Pokémon do not have increased shiny rates, the boosted spawn rates of the featured Pokémon improve your chances of encountering a shiny variant simply by volume of encounters. However, unless Shroomish is the featured Pokémon for that hour, it will not have increased spawns or a spotlight bonus, and thus your chances to find a shiny Shroomish during other Spotlight Hours are very low.

To summarize: you can only reliably find shiny Shroomish during a Spotlight Hour event that features Shroomish, such as the one held in October 2024. For upcoming Spotlight Hours featuring other Pokémon, Shroomish shiny encounters are not boosted.

Will the next Spotlight Hour feature a shiny Shroomish chance

The next Spotlight Hour on June 3, 2025, will feature Spritzee with a 2× Catch XP bonus, not Shroomish. Shroomish was last featured in a Spotlight Hour on October 15, 2024, when it had increased spawns and a 2× Stardust bonus. There is no scheduled Spotlight Hour featuring Shroomish in June 2025, so there will be no shiny Shroomish chance during the upcoming Spotlight Hours unless Niantic announces a future event featuring it.
