Unearth the eerie glow of Kitakami’s Timeless Woods in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask, where the ghostly Lampent awaits its fiery transformation. With just a single Dusk Stone, you can evolve this spectral flame into the hauntingly beautiful Chandelure, adding a fan-favorite ghost/fire type to your collection and lighting up your journey through the new DLC’s mysterious landscapes.
These creepy lamps and it’s smaller candle pre-evolution can be found commonly around Kitakami, but you’ll need a specific item (that can be somewhat hard to find) to evolve it. We detail where to find Lampent and how to evolve it into Chandelure below.
Where to find Lampent in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
You can find Lampent in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC primarily in the northeastern region of Kitakami, especially at night. The best known location to encounter Lampent is the Timeless Woods, where it often appears alongside other ghost-type Pokémon like Phantump. If you prefer to start from the pre-evolution, Litwick can also be found in the same area and on Oni Mountain at night, evolving into Lampent at level 41. For those looking for a guaranteed spawn, Lampent can also appear as a wild Tera Raid Pokémon in the DLC. This makes the Timeless Woods the key area to search when hunting for Lampent in The Teal Mask expansion.

You can find Lampent in the Timeless Woods. If you’re having a hard time finding one, you can also just grab a Litwick and level it to 41, at which point it’ll evolve into a Lampent.
How to evolve Lampent into Chandelure
To evolve Lampent into Chandelure in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask, you simply need to use a Dusk Stone on your Lampent. There is no level requirement for this evolution; just select the Dusk Stone from your inventory, choose Lampent in your party, and the evolution will trigger immediately. Dusk Stones can be found in several locations, including a guaranteed one behind the Montenevera Gym, another near Cascarrafa, and as a reward for catching 130 Pokémon in the Paldea Pokédex. They can also occasionally appear as random item drops in the wild. Once you use the Dusk Stone on Lampent, it will evolve into Chandelure, completing the evolution line from Litwick to Lampent to Chandelure.

You can find a Dusk Stone in Kitakami in the Timeless Woods along the wall near the south entrance. The item is presented as the usual red Poké Ball in the spot below:

If you already used that Dusk Stone, you can find more as the Porto Marinada auctions in Paldea, if you’re lucky. They also have a chance to appear on the ground as sparkling items in Alfornada Cavern, Area Zero, and Dalizapa Passage in Paldea.
Want to discover the secret location of the Dusk Stone in Montenevera
The secret fixed location of a Dusk Stone in Montenevera is right behind the Pokémon Gym building at the top of town. You’ll find a glowing Poké Ball containing the Dusk Stone there, making it the most reliable spot to grab one without relying on random drops or auctions.
Is the fixed Dusk Stone behind Montenevera gym the only guaranteed spot
No, the fixed Dusk Stone behind the Montenevera Gym is not the only guaranteed spot. There is a second guaranteed location in West Province Area 3, east of Cascarrafa Town near the beginning of the river, where a glowing Poké Ball containing a Dusk Stone can be found under a cliff. Besides these fixed locations, Dusk Stones can also be obtained through auctions in Porto Marinada, random drops in certain areas, and as a reward for catching 130 Pokémon in the Pokédex.
