Pokémon Scarlet Violet Teal Mask Kitakami Ogre Clan Locations and Rewards Guide

Guides

Eight masked trainers, hidden in the wilds of Kitakami, are waiting to test your strength in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Teal Mask DLC. These elite battlers-the mysterious Ogre Clan-aren’t just the toughest opponents you’ll face, but also the gatekeepers to some of the region’s best rewards. Ready to hunt them down and prove yourself against Kitakami’s fiercest? Here’s where to find every Ogre Clan member and what you’ll earn for toppling them.

Some of the Ogre Clan members can be hard to find, as they’re in caves or on top of cliffs, but have no fear, we have your back.

Below we list out the rewards and the locations of the eight Ogre Clan members. We also list out their parties, but note that we have beaten the base game, which does affect how the levels scale in The Teal Mask. Your levels may be lower if you haven’t beaten Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Ogre Clan rewards

The Ogre Clan side quest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask offers a series of valuable rewards for players who track down and defeat all eight members scattered across Kitakami. For each clan member you defeat, you receive a progressively better item, including competitive battle staples like the Focus Sash, Exp. Candy XL, Assault Vest, Rare Candy, Choice Specs, Ability Capsules, and Choice Band. After defeating the final member, Secret Master Muramasa, you are awarded the highly sought-after Ability Patch. In addition to these items, each victory also grants you a significant amount of prize money, making the quest both lucrative and useful for strengthening your Pokémon team for competitive play.

You can return to the NPC at the shrine to get a reward for each member you beat. You get the following for beating all eight of the Kitakami Ogre Clan:

  • Focus Sash
  • 5 Exp. Candies XL
  • Assault Vest
  • 10 Rare Candies
  • Choice Specs
  • 3 Ability Capsules
  • Choice Band
  • Ability Patch

Ogre Clan member locations and parties

The Ogre Clan in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask DLC consists of eight powerful trainers scattered throughout the Kitakami region. You can begin this side quest by speaking to an NPC near the base of the stairs at Kitakami Hall, who tracks your progress and offers rewards for each member you defeat. The first seven members can be challenged in any order and are found in various locations, including Apple Hills, Fellhorn Gorge, Oni Mountain, and the Crystal Pool. Each member specializes in different Pokémon types, such as Electric, Fairy, Fighting, Ice/Rock, and more, with teams typically at level 75 or higher. After defeating all seven, you unlock a final battle against the clan’s leader, who uses a Dark/Ghost-type team. Be prepared for challenging battles, as these trainers are among the toughest in the DLC and require a well-prepared party to overcome.

The order you fight the Ogre Clan members does not matter, but you won’t be able to fight the eighth member – Ogre Clan master Murumasa – until the other seven are defeated.

Where are the most hidden Ogre Clan members in Kitakami

Most Hidden Ogre Clan Members in Kitakami

Several Ogre Clan members in Kitakami are tucked away in locations that are easy to miss if you’re not exploring carefully. The most hidden among them include:

  • Kotetsu: Found at the bottom of a cave beneath the Crystal Pool at the summit of Oni Mountain. To reach Kotetsu, you need to locate a secret cave entrance near the Crystal Pool, then descend all the way to the bottom of the chasm-this spot is notably out of the way and easy to overlook.

  • Raikiri: Hiding in a small cave north of Mossui Town, midway up the waterfall along the river that runs up the base of Oni Mountain. The entrance is elevated and requires you to follow the river and spot a ledge with a cave, making it one of the trickier locations to stumble upon naturally.

  • Kunitsuna: Located on the west side of Oni Mountain, right beside a small, isolated pool of water near the Wistful Fields. This pond is the only one on that side of the mountain, and Kunitsuna’s placement makes them easy to miss if you’re not specifically searching that area.

These members are considered the most hidden due to their placement in caves, high elevations, or remote pools, requiring extra exploration and attention to detail to find them.

Which Ogre Clan member is hidden behind Mossui Town cliffs

The Ogre Clan member hidden behind the Mossui Town cliffs is Raikiri. Raikiri can be found in a small cave located just behind Mossui Town in the Apple Hills area. To reach this spot, head around where Carmine and Kieran’s home is, jump along the cliffs behind the town, and head east. You’ll eventually find a cave filled with Geodude and Raikiri inside.
