Tinkatink Tinkatuff Tinkaton in Pokémon GO Catching Evolving Shiny Availability

Guides

Discover the secret to adding the powerful Fairy/Steel-type trio-Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton-to your Pokémon Go collection during the exclusive Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration event. From hatching rare 7 km eggs to mastering candy collection for evolution, this guide reveals everything you need to know to wield the mighty hammer of Tinkaton and dominate your battles.

Unlike recent new Pokémon such as Gossifleur and Nickit, Tinkatink is not available in the wild on its debut – but there is one (paid) source that makes acquiring some fairly straightforward.

How to get Tinkatink in Pokémon Go

To get Tinkatink in Pokémon GO, your best opportunity is during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration event, where Tinkatink hatches from 7 km Eggs obtained by opening gifts from friends. After the event ends, it will move to the 10 km Egg pool, so you can still hatch it from those eggs. Tinkatink does not spawn in the wild initially, so hatching eggs is the primary method to obtain it. Additionally, you can acquire Tinkatink by completing specific Timed Research tasks or Field Research during the event, and there is a paid Timed Research option that guarantees two encounters. Using tools like the PoGoskill Pokémon GO Radar can help track Tinkatink during the event. Once you have Tinkatink, collect 25 candies to evolve it into Tinkatuff, and then 100 candies to evolve Tinkatuff into Tinkaton.

First appearing in April 2025’s “Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration” event, on its debut, Tinkatink is found:

  • By hatching 7 km eggs (moving to 10 km eggs once the event ends on Tuesday, April 22)
  • “Don’t Tinkatink Twice!” Premium Timed Research Ticket rewards (two encounters by completing “Take a snapshot with your buddy” and “Hatch 2 eggs”)

Tinkatink can only be found in 7 km eggs – which are received by opening gifts from friends – during the event, unless you decide to pay $5 (or the regional equivalent) for the event’s Timed Research Ticket, which will guarantee two pretty painless ways to encounter one.

Tinkatink is going to be tricky to source, in other words. The good news is once the event ends on Tuesday, April 22, Tinkatink will still be available, albeit switching to the 10km egg pool.

A small silver lining from Tinkatink being only found in eggs and Timed Research is these sources have higher IVs than wild catches, meaning they will have at least 10/10/10 stats every time.

How to get evolution Tinkatuff and Tinkaton in Pokémon Go

To get Tinkatuff and Tinkaton in Pokémon Go, you first need to obtain Tinkatink, which hatches from 7 km eggs during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration event or later from 10 km eggs. Once you have Tinkatink, evolve it into Tinkatuff using 25 Tinkatink candies. Then, evolve Tinkatuff into Tinkaton by collecting and spending 100 more Tinkatink candies. Since Tinkatink is only available from eggs and special research encounters, focus on hatching eggs and completing event tasks to gather enough candy for evolution. Trading with friends and participating in raids can also help accumulate candies faster.

To get Tinkatink’s evolutions in Pokémon Go, you must evolve a Tinkatink with 25 Candy to get a Tinkatuff and then evolve that Tinkatuff with 100 Candy to get a Tinkaton.

Outside of the two paid Timed Research event encounters, Tinkatink can only be sourced from eggs, so the usual recommendation of using Pinap Berries and a related Mega Evolution active to give you an easy Candy boost doesn’t apply.

Instead, you just have to grind those eggs out. We’d highly recommend not buying incubators specially for this purpose, as discovering Tinkatink isn’t guaranteed. Instead, consider it a goal to work towards over a long period of time – your free, infinite-use incubator will churn through eggs faster than you think – especially when you factor in Tinkatink being more accessible in future events, such as a possible Community Day (which, admittedly, might be years away).

If you’re particularly keen to get evolving, however, then it’s not a huge amount of Rare Candy to spend – though we’d always advocate in reserving these for Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.

Can Tinkatink be shiny in in Pokémon Go?

Tinkatink cannot be shiny in Pokémon GO as of April 2025. While the Pokémon made its debut during the Pokémon Horizons Series Celebration event and can be obtained mainly through hatching 7 km eggs (which later transition to 10 km eggs), shiny versions of Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton are not yet available in the game. This may change in the future, as shiny forms are often introduced later, but for now, players cannot encounter a shiny Tinkatink in Pokémon GO.

Tinkatink cannot be shiny in Pokémon Go. This is likely to change over time – it’s a fan-favorite Pokémon after all – but know that it might be a while before that happens.

What secret strategies can help me hatch Tinkatink faster in Pokémon Go

To hatch Tinkatink faster in Pokémon Go, focus on efficient egg-hatching strategies since Tinkatink is primarily obtained from 7 km (event) and later 10 km eggs. Here are some secret tips:

  • Use the “sock method,” where you attach your phone securely inside a sock and bounce it gently while stationary. This method registers distance quickly and is considered one of the fastest ways to hatch eggs without needing to walk.

  • Turn off Adventure Sync temporarily after walking your desired distance, then turn it back on to instantly credit all the steps taken. This can help hatch multiple eggs simultaneously, allowing better use of Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces for XP and Stardust boosts.

  • Prioritize using your free infinite incubator to hatch eggs steadily over time rather than buying many incubators, since Tinkatink’s egg appearance is not guaranteed and patience is key.

  • Hatch many 7 km eggs during the Pokémon Horizons event for better chances; the hatch rate is decent but not guaranteed, so persistence matters.

Combining these methods will maximize your egg hatching efficiency and increase your chances of obtaining Tinkatink candies needed for evolution.

How can I optimize my egg hatching to get Tinkatink faster in Pokémon Go

To optimize egg hatching and get Tinkatink faster in Pokémon Go, use these proven strategies:

  • Turn off Adventure Sync temporarily: Walk or move as usual with Adventure Sync off, then turn it back on to instantly credit all the distance you covered. This causes all your eggs to progress together, making it easier to hatch multiple eggs at once and maximize the use of Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces for XP and Stardust boosts.

  • Use the sock method: Secure your phone inside a sock and gently bounce it to simulate walking. This method has been tested as one of the fastest ways to accumulate egg distance in short periods, especially when you can’t walk outside.

  • Prioritize your free infinite incubator: Since Tinkatink is only available from certain eggs (7 km during the event, then 10 km afterward), use your infinite incubator for steady hatching over time rather than buying many incubators. This reduces wasted resources given Tinkatink’s rarity in eggs.

  • Maximize egg slots with 7 km eggs from gifts: Collect as many 7 km eggs as possible from friends’ gifts to fill all your incubators, increasing your chances of hatching Tinkatink during the event.

  • Consider slow-moving transport or turntables: If walking isn’t an option, slow traffic or devices like turntables can trick your phone into registering distance, helping hatch eggs faster without physical walking.

Combining these approaches will speed up your egg hatching and improve your chances of obtaining Tinkatink and its evolutions efficiently.
