Zelda Echoes of Wisdom amiibo rewards compatibility guide and full list

Guides

Unlock the full potential of your amiibo collection in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom! From rare smoothie ingredients to exclusive costumes like the enigmatic Black Cat Outfit, discover how scanning your favorite Zelda series amiibo can enrich your adventure-if you know when and where to scan. But beware, these rewards only unlock after key story milestones, adding a layer of mystery and strategy to your amiibo use in Hyrule.

Here’s how amiibo support works in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, from functionality to the rewards you receive.

How does Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom amiibo functionality work?

In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, amiibo functionality allows players to scan any Legend of Zelda series amiibo to receive various rewards, including random materials and exclusive clothing outfits. To use amiibo, players pause the game, select the amiibo option, and tap their amiibo to the controller. Each amiibo can be scanned once every 24 hours, with a maximum of three scans allowed per day (unless the Nintendo Switch internal clock is adjusted). Before completing the Hyrule Castle dungeon, scanning amiibo grants smoothie ingredients and monster stones, while after this point, players unlock three exclusive costumes: Blue Attire (any Zelda amiibo), Red Tunic (any Link amiibo), and Black Cat Clothing (certain Zelda amiibo). The Black Cat Costume also grants the unique ability to talk to cats in the game. Subsequent scans continue to provide useful ingredients for potions and smoothies.

First, know you can only use amiibos from The Legend of Zelda series in Echoes of Wisdom. This means no Animal Crossing amiibo cards, no Splatoon amiibos – none of that. All of these will say they’re not compatible, so put your huge stash of amiibo cards away.

Second, you can only scan three amiibo per day for rewards. After beating the Hyrule Castle part of the game, you’ll get three bonus scans one time.

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom amiibo rewards

In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, scanning amiibo from the Legend of Zelda series grants players various rewards, primarily smoothie ingredients and monster materials, with a daily limit of three scans. Before completing the Hyrule Castle dungeon, amiibo scans yield useful ingredients like refreshing grapes, golden eggs, and monster stones. After finishing Hyrule Castle, players unlock three exclusive amiibo-only costumes: the Blue Attire from any Zelda amiibo (including Sheik), the Red Tunic from any Link amiibo, and the Black Cat Costume from other Zelda series amiibo such as Ganondorf or Mipha. While these outfits are mostly cosmetic, the Black Cat Costume uniquely allows players to converse with cats throughout Hyrule. Overall, amiibo rewards enhance gameplay with helpful materials and decorative outfits without locking essential content behind them.

Scanning any Zelda amiibo before you beat Hyrule Castle will net you some smoothie ingredients or monster stones. You can even get the rare Golden Eggs this way, but we only had this happen once in our dozens of scans.

Scanning a Zelda amiibo after you beat Hyrule Castle can net you some outfits on your first scan. The outfits and amiibos that unlock them are as follows:

  • Any Zelda amiibo (including Shiek): Blue Attire
  • Any Link amiibo: Red Tunic
  • Any other Zelda series amiibo, like Bokoblin or Mipha: Black Cat Costume

The costumes are mostly cosmetic, though the Black Cat Costume will allow you to talk to the cats littered throughout Hyrule. It should be noted that there is another cat costume that has the same effect that you’ll get from a side quest in Kakariko Village (“Questioning the Local Cats”), so there’s nothing locked behind amiibo that will give you a direct advantage in the game.

Scanning amiibos after thiswill continue to net you smoothie ingredients, like twisted pumpkins, refreshing grapes, the aforementioned Golden Eggs, or monster stones. Here’s a list of all the ingredients we’ve been able to get:

  • Bubble kelp
  • Chilly cactus
  • Electro apple
  • Floral nectar
  • Fresh milk
  • Golden Egg
  • Monster fang
  • Monster guts
  • Radian butter
  • Refreshing grapes
  • Riverhorse
  • Rock salt
  • Rocktato
  • Tough mango
  • Twisted pumpkin
  • Warm pepper

What rare rewards can I unlock by scanning Zelda amiibo in Echoes of Wisdom

In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, scanning Zelda series amiibo can unlock several rare and exclusive rewards. After completing the Hyrule Castle dungeon, the first scan of specific amiibo grants unique costumes: any Link amiibo unlocks the Red Tunic, any Ganondorf or miscellaneous Zelda series amiibo unlocks the Black Cat Clothing-which uniquely allows interaction with cats in the game-and any Zelda amiibo (including Sheik) unlocks the Blue Attire.

Before reaching Hyrule Castle, or after obtaining these costumes, scanning amiibo yields valuable smoothie ingredients and monster materials. Among these, the rarest are the Golden Eggs, which appear very infrequently, and monster stones used for repairing automations. These rewards enhance gameplay by providing useful crafting materials and cosmetic customization options exclusive to amiibo users.

What are the chances of unlocking the rare Golden Eggs with Zelda amiibo

The chance of unlocking rare Golden Eggs by scanning Zelda amiibo in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is approximately 3.45% per scan, making them one of the rarest amiibo drops in the game. This small probability means Golden Eggs appear infrequently, but they are highly valued for crafting some of the best smoothies. Players can scan up to three amiibo per day and can reset this limit by changing the system date to continue farming these rare items.
