Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Device Dispenser Locations Guide

Guides

Zonai dispensers are scattered across Hyrule, each offering unique devices that can change how you explore, fight, and build in Tears of the Kingdom. Here’s where to find every dispenser and what treasures they hold.

Our Tears of the Kingdom Zonai dispensers guide will show you where to find all 29 Zonai dispensers and list the devices inside each of them so you can find as many balloons, rockets, and steering sticks as you need.

All Zonai devices

Zonai dispensers are scattered across Hyrule, with locations ranging from towns and shrines to ancient ruins and hidden caverns. Each site offers a unique mechanism for obtaining Zonai devices, so players should explore thoroughly and note nearby landmarks to track them all.

There are a total of 27 different Zonai devices you can have in your inventory: balloon, battery, beam emitter, big wheel, cannon, cart, construct head, fan, flame emitter, frost emitter, homing cart, hover stone, hydrant, light, mirror, portable pot, rocket, shock emitter, sled, small wheel, spring, stabilizer, stablilizer, stake, steering stick, time bomb, and wing.

To get them, you’ll have to head to a dispenser and drop in some Zonai charges. One (not large) Zonai charge will get you one device, but dropping in multiple charges will get you bonus devices – five Zonai charges get you 12 devices. A large Zonai charge results in 10 devices, while five Large Zonai charges will get you 60.

Each Zonai dispenser has specific devices in stock. When you drop in Zonai charges (either large or small), you’ll get a random assortment of those devices. That means, if you’re looking to stock up on a specific device, you’ll have to head to one of the specific dispensers that can produce that device.

All Zonai dispenser locations and available devices

Zonai dispensers are scattered across Hyrule, the Sky Islands, and the Depths, each offering a specific set of Zonai devices. These machines trade Zonai Charges or Large Zonai Charges for random items such as Fans, Wings, Carts, and Portable Pots. Each dispenser provides different devices depending on its location, encouraging players to explore various regions to expand their device inventory. Knowing where each dispenser is found helps in gathering the right tools for building vehicles, crossing difficult terrain, or solving puzzles efficiently throughout the game.

There are a total of 29 Zonai dispensers in Tears of the Kingdom. All but five of them are on Sky Islands – there are two in the Depths and three on the Surface of Hyrule.

The table below lists all 29 Zonai dispensers, their coordinates, and which of the 27 different Zonai devices each one contains.

How to use Zonai dispensers

Zonai dispensers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom convert specific materials into capsules containing Zonai devices, like fans or rockets, for building vehicles or tools. They function like cooking pots but accept only Zonai Charges or Construct materials (e.g., Soldier’s Construct Horns). Each dispenser offers a unique set of 3-6 devices based on its location.

Activation Steps

Approach the dispenser and interact with it to open your inventory.

  • Hold up to five compatible items (Zonai Charges yield more capsules; five at once maximizes output).

  • Exit inventory, then press A to drop them into the receptacle (similar to cooking).

  • Collect the ejected capsules from the output slot; non-compatible items are refunded.

Usage Tips

Dispensers restock infinitely but require materials gathered from Constructs. Save Zonai Charges for bulk use, as single insertions give fewer rewards.

Check the map icon after first use to preview available devices at each of the 30 locations (25 sky, 3 surface, 2 Depths). Experiment with capsules anywhere by placing and activating devices with attacks.
