King Dorephan has vanished from his throne, and Link’s search for him ties directly to the mysteries hidden beneath the waves. Here’s how to trace his whereabouts and advance the “Clues to the Sky” quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to start ‘Clues to the Sky’
To begin the “Clues to the Sky” quest, speak with the Zora at Mipha Court in the Lanayru region after completing the “Sidon of the Zora” main quest. You’ll learn that King Dorephan has gone into hiding following a recent attack. The Zora children nearby will mention clues about his secret location, leading you toward a secluded cave behind the throne room’s waterfall. Following their hints sets the stage for the next part of the quest.
Now that you’ve found Toto Lake, before you head up to the “land of the sky fish,” you need to find King Dorephan, the monarch that leads the Zora people.
Some kids are playing around his throne in Zora’s Domain and they’ll discuss where to find him, but they refuse to talk about it when you’re around. Head to the throne room and sneak around them, approaching them from behind the throne. Stay crouched and move slowly to avoid being detected. Once you’re close enough, you’ll be able to listen in.
Where to find King Dorephan’s location
King Dorephan can be found hiding in a cave behind the waterfall at the base of the throne room in Zora’s Domain. To reach him, glide down from the throne area and enter the cave through a narrow opening concealed by the flowing water. Inside, you’ll find the Zora king resting and waiting to speak with you about clues related to the fallen sky objects and Prince Sidon’s search.

How to complete the rest of Clues to the Sky quest after finding King Dorephan
After speaking with King Dorephan in the Pristine Sanctum, return to Prince Sidon at Mipha’s Court near the Ihen-a Shrine to update him on the King’s Scale and clues from the stone slate.
Locate Sky Fish Land
Head to the giant waterfall up the mountain behind Sidon, swim up it using Zora Armor (obtained earlier from Sidon), and continue ascending floating waterfalls to reach the “land of the sky fish”-a floating island shaped like a fish with sky octoroks around it.
Shoot Droplet with Scale
Find the water droplet-shaped hole on the island, attach a King’s Scale to an arrow, and shoot it through the droplet. This opens a massive green portal at East Reservoir Lake, completing the “Clues to the Sky” quest and advancing “Sidon of the Zora” to the Ancient Zora Waterworks.
Where is the land of the sky fish after talking to Sidon
The Land of the Sky Fish is Floating Scales Island, a fish-shaped sky island visible on your Sky Map just east of Sidon at Mipha Court.
Reaching the Island
From Sidon, look up and east to spot the island with sludge pouring from its “mouth.” Equip Zora Armor to swim up the waterfall (watery bridge) flowing from it, or use Zonai devices like rockets or balloons for ascent.
Exact Location
Check your Sky Map east of Mipha Court (coordinates around 4073, 0529, 0603 for the droplet spot). This completes the sky fish clue in “Clues to the Sky.”
