GTA Online Ghost Locations Halloween 2023 Find All 10 Spots for Reward

Guides

Ready to dive into the eerie side of Los Santos? GTA Online’s latest Halloween update invites players to hunt down ten elusive ghosts scattered across the city-each appearing only at a specific hour and location. Capture their spectral images to earn hefty cash rewards, exclusive outfits, and more, but beware: you’ll need multiple nights and sharp timing to catch them all.

How to start the Ghosts Exposed challenge in GTA Online

To start the Ghosts Exposed challenge in GTA Online, you first need to log into the game during nighttime hours when the event is active. Upon logging in, you will receive an email from the Ghosts Exposed documentary team notifying you about the event. The challenge runs between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM in-game time, during which ten ghosts will appear at specific locations and times across Los Santos and Blaine County. You must photograph these ghosts within their limited one-hour in-game spawn windows, which translates to about two real-world minutes each. It is recommended to use a fast vehicle like the Oppressor to move quickly between locations. The first nine ghosts appear in a set order, and the tenth ghost only appears after you have photographed the others. Completing the challenge rewards you with cash, RP, and special Halloween-themed items.

When you log into GTA Online, you’ll (eventually) get an email on your phone from the Ghosts Exposed team.

There are 10 ghosts scattered around Los Santos. Luckily, they’re all down in the city itself, so you won’t be traipsing all over the map.

The trick, however, is that each ghost only appears for a specific one hour window – meaning two minutes of real-world time – each in-game day. That means you’ll only have two minutes to find the ghost, get your picture, and then travel to the next location.

Further, the final ghost only appears once you’ve taken pictures of the other nine. And all of that means you’re probably going to spend multiple in-game nights chasing these specters.

Where to find all 10 ghosts in GTA Online

To find all 10 ghosts in GTA Online’s Ghosts Exposed event, players must search specific locations across Los Santos during designated in-game time windows, each lasting about one hour (roughly two minutes in real time). The ghosts appear only at night, between 7 PM and 6 AM in-game, with two possible spawn points per location. The first nine ghosts can be found in areas such as Pacific Bluffs cemetery, Strawberry underpass, El Burro Heights tower, a bridge near Los Santos Airport, Miguel Madrazo’s mansion tower, Cypress Flats alley, Rockford Hills church towers, Little Seoul intersection, and East Vinewood apartments. After photographing these nine, the tenth ghost appears near the Sandy Shores sign between midnight and 1 AM. Capturing all ghost photos rewards players with cash, RP, and exclusive Halloween-themed items.

The ghosts in GTA Online only appear at night from 19:00 to 06:00 on your phone’s clock. Each of the ghosts have a specific window of time they’ll appear, so if you miss them, you’ll have to wait another 48 minutes for the time to roll around again.

You’ll also notice (or quickly find out) that the ghost locations are a bit more than two minutes apart. Don’t rush it. It’s going to be a lengthy process.

You can track your progress by checking the Interaction Menu > All Collectibles > Collectibles > Ghosts Exposed.

Ghost 1 location (19:00 to 20:00)

Head to Hill Valley Church in Pacific Bluffs. The ghost will appear either on the south side of the church on the roof or above a grave on the north side of the church.

Ghost 2 location (20:00 to 21:00)

There’s a homeless encampment below the highway in Strawberry. Check the north side for a sofa where the ghost will appear.

Ghost 3 location (21:00 to 22:00)

Head over to El Burro Heights and look for the water tower. The ghost will appear either on top of the water tower or right above the memorial on the corner.

Ghost 4 location (22:00 to 23:00)

Head for the huge bridge called Miriam Turner Overpass. Head to the east side of the tallest support tower and look for this ghost on top.

Ghost 5 location (23:00 to 00:00)

You’ll find this ghost in the tower at Miguel Madrazo’s mansion.

Ghost 6 location (01:00 to 02:00)

You’ll find the next ghost in the Cypress Flats trainyard.

Ghost 7 location (02:00 to 03:00)

For the next ghost, head for the Rockford Hills Church. You’ll find it in one of the towers (belfries?).

Ghost 8 location (04:00 to 05:00)

Head to the church in Little Seoul. Just a little north, there’s a large intersection by a movie theater. Stand in the intersection and look back at the church’s tower to find this ghost.

Ghost 9 location (05:00 to 06:00)

Over in East Vinewood, look for the U-shaped and abandoned apartment building. What for this ghost in the courtyard.

Ghost 10 location (00:00 to 01:00)

The 10th and final ghost only appears once you’ve taken pictures of the other nine.

Head to the bottom of the Land Act Dam. You can follow roads to the top, but you’ll have to get all the way down to the base for the final picture. At midnight, the ghost will appear in front of the spillway.

How can I efficiently track all ten ghosts across different nights in GTA Online

To efficiently track all ten ghosts in GTA Online across different nights, follow these key strategies:

  • Use a detailed schedule and map: Each ghost appears only during a specific one-hour in-game time window between 7 PM and 6 AM, with just about two real minutes to photograph them before they vanish. Utilizing an interactive map that marks each ghost’s two possible spawn points and their exact time slots helps plan your route effectively.

  • Prioritize fast travel: Employ fast vehicles like the Oppressor Mk II or a helicopter to quickly move between ghost locations, enabling you to capture up to nine ghosts in a single night if you move swiftly and precisely.

  • Follow the fixed order but flexible route: While the ghosts appear in a fixed hourly order, you can photograph the first nine in any sequence during their respective time windows. The tenth ghost only appears after you have captured all nine, typically requiring a second night.

  • Prepare for alternate spawn points: Each ghost has two nearby spawn locations, so if you don’t see the ghost immediately, check the alternate spot within the area before moving on.

  • Track your progress in-game: Use the Interaction Menu under Collectibles > Ghosts Exposed to monitor which ghosts you have photographed and which remain.

By combining precise timing, fast transportation, and a reliable map with spawn points and time windows, you can efficiently hunt down all ten ghosts in just a few in-game nights.

How can I use maps or tools to plan my ghost hunts across multiple nights

To plan your ghost hunts across multiple nights in GTA Online efficiently using maps and tools, consider the following approach:

  • Use interactive maps with marked ghost locations and time windows: Detailed maps that show each ghost’s two possible spawn points along with their exact one-hour appearance times allow you to plan your route strategically, minimizing travel time between locations.

  • Create or use custom route planners: Tools that let you plot a walking or driving route with numbered stops help you follow the ghosts’ fixed hourly order while optimizing your path for speed and convenience.

  • Leverage digital tools for timing: Use timers or alarms synced to the in-game clock to ensure you arrive at each ghost’s location during its precise appearance window.

  • Track progress digitally: Some players use checklists or in-game menus to mark which ghosts have been photographed, helping you avoid repeats and know when to return for the final ghost.

  • Consider apps or software for ghost tours: While not specific to GTA Online, platforms like Proxi Maps allow creation of interactive ghost tour guides with custom stops and navigation aids, which can inspire or assist in organizing your hunt virtually.

By combining detailed maps, route planning, and precise timing tools, you can efficiently cover all ghost locations over multiple nights without missing any spectral encounters.
