How to Get the Gerudo Sanctum Chest Behind the Wall in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Guides

A mysterious chest sits just out of reach, taunting you from behind an impenetrable wall in the Gerudo Sanctum of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. No amount of echoes, trampolines, or clever tricks will get you through-at least, not from where you first find it. The real solution lies high above, hidden on the sanctum’s rooftop, where a single sandy tile and the right echo will finally reveal the secret to claiming this elusive treasure.

As you journey through the Gerudo Sanctum, you’ll run into a room with some pots. A wall will split the room in half, and you’ll see an out-of-reach chest on the other side of the wall. You may try to summon echoes, stacking beds and trampolines to get to the chest, but none of these efforts will work.

Below, we explain how to get this chest in the Gerudo Sanctum, as well as explain what’s inside the chest.

How to get the Gerudo Sanctum chest behind the wall

To get the Gerudo Sanctum chest hidden behind the wall in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you must first progress through the dungeon until you reach the rooftop area outside the sanctum. As you explore the roof, look for a unique sandy tile to the left of the Waypoint-this tile stands out from the standard roof tiles. Use a Holmill Echo on this sandy spot to dig a hole, then drop down through it. This will place you directly beside the elusive chest that was previously unreachable from inside the room. Open the chest to claim your reward of 50 Rupees, then use the Waypoint to return to the roof and continue your adventure.

To be frank, if you’re seeing that chest behind the wall and doing everything you can to grab it the answer is kind of sad: Just ignore it for now. There is a path to this chest, but you won’t be able to get it from the room you initially see it in. Just keep trekking through the dungeon.

When you hit the part of the dungeon when you fight a poe, that’s when you’re going to need to start paying attention again. This will give you the dungeon map and then access to the stilled area outside of the sanctum.

As you progress through this outside area, you’ll eventually be on the roof of part of the sanctum near a warp waypoint. On the left of this roof is a particular sandy tile that’s not like the rest of the tiles. Use a holmill echo on this square. It’ll dig a hole that you can drop into – and what do you know, you drop straight on to that chest from the room before.

That’s it. You’ll get a purple rupee from the chest for your troubles and you can take the warp waypoint back up to the roof to continue your journey through the Gerudo Sanctum.

What secret method allows me to access the chest behind the wall in Gerudo Sanctum

To access the chest behind the wall in the Gerudo Sanctum, you need to reach the roof of the dungeon. On the roof, look for a single sandy tile near the Waypoint-this is your clue. Use a Holmill Echo on this sand tile to dig a hole, then drop down through it. This will place you directly next to the elusive chest, allowing you to open it and claim your reward. The wall inside the sanctum is impenetrable from below, so this rooftop method is the only way to reach the chest.

How does summoning a Holmill reveal the hidden entrance in Gerudo Sanctum

Summoning a Holmill on the sandy tile above the Gerudo Sanctum chest causes the Holmill to dig a hole through the sand, revealing a hidden entrance directly into the room with the chest. This method works because the Holmill Echo’s special ability is to burrow through soft earth or sand, creating new passages or entrances to otherwise inaccessible areas. By dropping through the hole created by the Holmill, you bypass the impenetrable wall and land safely next to the chest, allowing you to open it and claim the reward.
