Fast travel to the Cosmodrome’s Skywatch and prepare to follow the elusive paw prints of Destiny 2’s beloved robotic dog, Archie. From the iconic Loot Cave to Rasputin’s Bunker in The Grottos, this week’s quest sends Guardians on a nostalgic hunt through legendary locations, culminating in a daring rescue at Dock 13. Ready your weapons and your wits-Archie’s adventure is calling!
In this Destiny 2 guide, I’ll help you find Archie so you can claim some Trophy of Bravery tokens, the Blue Steel shader, and the “Where in the System is Archie” Triumph.
Note: Archie has moved to The Cosmodrome as part of the April 30 weekly reset. The previous quest for the previous location at The Tower, is no longer available, but we’ve kept the steps on this page in case you were curious. We’ll continue to update this guide each week to help you find Archie wherever he may appear.
How to start the ’Where is Archie?’ quest in Destiny 2 each week
To start the “Where is Archie?” quest in the Cosmodrome each week in Destiny 2, first head to the Tower Annex and look for the green glowing paw prints near Ada-1’s lab. Investigate the paw prints, then speak with Ada-1 to receive the quest titled “Where In The Cosmodrome Is Archie?” Next, travel to the Cosmodrome, specifically to The Steppes landing zone, to begin tracking Archie’s whereabouts and follow the clues to find him in various iconic locations within the Cosmodrome. After locating and freeing Archie, return to Ada-1 in the Tower to complete the quest and claim your rewards.
To start the Archie quest, you’ll first need to visit him in the Annex, which is down the stairs from the Tower Bazaar.
Normally you can find Archie lounging on a blanket outside of the old Black Armory area, opposite where Ada-1 hangs out. But if you try and visit him, you’ll notice that he’s gone and there are some green paw prints leading toward Ada.
You can reach this location by using the south-west most fast travel point, then travelling straight ahead down the corridor. The paw prints will appear on the ledge to your right.
Investigate the prints and go talk to Ada-1 (found in the Annex proper opposite) to start the latest quest.
’Where in the Cosmodrome is Archie?’ locations in Destiny 2
In Destiny 2, to find Archie in the Cosmodrome, start by visiting Shaw Han at The Steppes landing zone. From there, head to the iconic Loot Cave near Skywatch, where Archie’s paw prints lead into the cave. Next, explore the Terrestrial Complex, the communication hub connecting Skywatch and the Forgotten Shore, where more paw prints appear near monitors. Then, proceed to Rasputin’s Bunker in The Grottos at the southern edge of the Forgotten Shore, following the path on your Sparrow. Finally, fast travel to The Steppes and enter Dock 13 to free Archie from captivity by defeating the Fallen enemies inside. After rescuing him, you can pet Archie and return to the Tower to claim your rewards.
To start the second week quest for Archie, find his missing paw prints in The Tower like usual. From there, Ada-1 will send you down to Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome. Talk to the New Light vendor and he’ll send you off to find Archie once again.
’Archie heard rumors about a “cave full of loot”’
For the first step of the quest, teleport yourself up to Skywatch.
When you arrive, head down to the public event area, new the giant Hive pod. You’ll see a cave carved out in the rock – the infamous Loot Cave, which you’ll surely remember if you’re a Destiny 1 veteran.
Archie’s footprints are just inside the mouth of the cave, so go in and investigate them.

For this next step, you’ll need to really reach back to remember the original Destiny.
From Skywatch, travel through the old buildings to the Terrestrial Complex – like you’re going backward through The Disgraced Strike. Eventually you’ll move into an open area where you’ll see a big antenna. From there, turn right and go up the ramp.
At the end of the ramp, you’ll find some Fallen crowding around a small group of computers. Defeat the enemies and then investigate the Archie footprints sitting in front of the terminal.

From Skywatch and the Terminal Complex, make your way to the Forgotten Shore.
Once you arrive in the Forgotten Shore, continue southeast until you find a small path – one that you should be familiar with if you’ve ever done the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strike. Keep going and keep left. Eventually you’ll take a lower path and find yourself in front of an old Warmind Bunker – the same one you enter in the Strike.
When you arrive, you’ll get ambushed by some Fallen. Defeat them and then investigate Archie’s paw prints, which are near the bunker doors.

The final step involves a pretty simple “boss fight,” so prepare yourself for that. Once you’re ready, teleport back to Shaw Han.
From Shaw, enter the complex he’s staring at and make your way to Dock 13. You can’t miss it, as it’s on your way to The Divide.
When you reach Dock 13, a Brig and a couple other Fallen enemies show up, including a boss Reaver. Clear out the non-boss Fallen as quickly as you can, then take on the Reaver. Once you deal enough damage – which really doesn’t take much – the Reaver will get an immunity shield and disappear.
When the Reaver disappears, so to does little Archie’s shield. Go up to him – he’s in the corner of the room – and give him some pets. Then you can return to Ada-1 to pick up your Trophy of Bravery tokens and Archie’s latest gift: a Spinfoil Hat.
’Where in the Tower is Archie?’ locations in Destiny 2 (expired)
The “Where in the Tower is Archie?” quest in Destiny 2 originally involved tracking down Archie, the Exo robot dog, as he wandered around several key locations within the Tower social space. Players start by investigating paw prints near Ada-1’s usual spot, then follow clues leading to the ramen shop in the Bazaar, the Cayde-6 statue near the Courtyard tree, and finally to Colonel, Cayde’s pet chicken in the Hangar. The quest concludes with Archie hiding in a vent above the Hangar, where players can offer him “Pawsitive Reinforcement” before returning to Ada-1 for rewards including Trophies of Bravery and the Blue Steel shader. This quest has since expired as Archie moved on to new locations like the Cosmodrome with subsequent updates.
After you’ve looked at the paw prints, Ada-1 will offer you the “Where in the Tower is Archie?” quest. Accept it and get ready for a scavenger hunt.
’Archie heard about something called ramen .’
Your first clue is that Archie is looking for ramen. Thankfully, there’s a ramen shop nearby.
Leave Ada’s chambers and turn left. Head up the stairs into the Bazaar. Across from where Ikora stands you’ll see a Fallen hanging out by some stools. Behind the counter of the nearby shop you’ll find Archie’s first set of footprints.
Investigate them to progress the quest.
’Archie wanted to go pay his respects to a famous gunslinger’
The next prompt explains that Archie wants to pay his respect to a “famous gunslinger,” which is Cayde-6, the former Hunter Vanguard killed during the Forsaken expansion.
Head to the main area of The Tower and walk toward Zavala and the Ironwood Tree. To the left of the tree is a small bust of Cayde sitting on a pillar.
Walk up to it and you’ll see Archie’s footprints. Interact with them to progress the quest.
’Archie took off past the security checkpoint to salute a feathered friend’
Next, you’ll hear that Archie went to visit a feathered friend. This prompt is talking about Colonel – Cayde-6’s chicken companion – who you can find in the Hangar.
From the main landing zone of The Tower, head left and down to the Hangar. Immediately when you walk in, turn right and you’ll see a partially built ship and some Fallen standing around. You’ll see Archie’s green footprints over by a small screen and a chicken.
This is where Cayde-6 used to stand in the Tower. Interact with Archie’s footprints to progress the quest.
’Archie’s last stop. He wandered into an open air duct in the Hangar .’
For the final part of this quest, the prompt will tell you that you’ll need to follow Archie through a mysterious air duct in the Tower Hangar. If you were around during the old Leviathan’s Breath quest, you’ll know exactly where to go. If not, keep scrolling.
From your visit with Cayde’s chicken, take the stairs that lead up to the upper area of the Hangar. Make your way over to the top of the Future War Cult (FWC) room and look toward the stairs that lead back to Zavala and company. You’ll see a small landing and pathway. Follow the arrow in the image above and jump over to this new area.
Once you land, follow the path through to a room with a holographic table, then through a doorway that leads to a small vent. Climb in the vent and out the other side.
You’ll now find yourself in the security checkpoint room. Just ahead of you, you’ll see Archie.
Approach him and “offer Pawsitive Reinforcement” to progress the quest.
Once you’re done, return to Ada-1 in the Annex. She’ll give you 10 Trophy of Bravery tokens (useful for getting Brave weapons) and an Expired Raman coupon, which doesn’t do anything, but is a cute little token to remember the quest by.
Because this is the first leg of this quest, you’ll also earn the “Where in the System is Archie” Triumph, which will net you the Blue Steel shader.
Where exactly does Archie leave footprints in the Cosmodrome for me to follow
Archie leaves a trail of glowing paw prints at several key locations throughout the Cosmodrome for you to follow:

Skywatch (Loot Cave): Fast travel to the Skywatch landing zone. Head straight and descend twice, then turn around to spot the iconic Loot Cave. You’ll find Archie’s paw prints leading into the cave here.

Terrestrial Complex: From the Loot Cave, jump up and enter the building via the right passage to reach the Terrestrial Complex. Continue deeper until you reach the central console area (where you once defended Ghost in Destiny 1). Here, you’ll find more paw prints under where an invulnerable sniper stands.

Forgotten Shore – The Grottos (Rasputin’s Bunker): Head out of the Terrestrial Complex toward the Forgotten Shore. Ride your Sparrow to the southern part called The Grottos, near Rasputin’s Bunker. Look for another set of paw prints by the bunker entrance.

Dock 13 (Archie’s Prison): Fast travel back to The Steppes. Turn left and run to the end until you find Dock 13, where Archie is imprisoned in a force field guarded by Fallen. Defeat the enemies to free him and complete the quest.
Follow the paw prints at each of these locations to track Archie’s journey across the Cosmodrome.
Where in the Skywatch area do Archie’s pawprints lead into the cave
In the Skywatch area, Archie’s pawprints lead directly into the iconic Loot Cave. After fast traveling to the Skywatch landing zone, head straight ahead and drop down into the area with the Hive spires. Then, turn around to find the entrance to the Loot Cave-Archie’s glowing pawprints will be just inside the mouth of the cave, leading you in to investigate further.
