In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest presents a tantalizing dilemma: two merchants, Everard and Offulve, both desperate for the same precious artifact, but only one genuine orb to give. Will you play it straight and choose a side, or will you outsmart them both to claim every reward? Discover how your decision shapes the outcome-and what secrets lie behind the Jadeite Orb’s glittering surface.
Our Dragon’s Dogma 2 will show you how to start “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb,” where to find the Jadeite Orb, and explain if you should give the Jadeite Orb to Everard or Offulve.
How to start ’Hunt for the Jadeite Orb’ in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To start the “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, head to Checkpoint Rest Town where you will meet two NPCs, Everard and Offulve, both seeking the Jadeite Orb. You can initiate the quest by speaking to either of them-Everard is found outside Celeste’s Smithy, and Offulve near The Sword and Staff Inn. Next, visit Ibrahim’s Scrap Store, located behind Everard’s position, to purchase the Jadeite Orb for 7,500 gold. You can also commission Ibrahim to forge a fake orb for an additional 2,000 gold, which is useful if you want to complete the quest with multiple outcomes. After acquiring the orb(s), return to Everard and Offulve to decide who to give the real Jadeite Orb to, which will influence your rewards and the quest’s conclusion.

Not too far west of the Checkpoint Rest Town’s inn – and just around the corner from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop (more on him later) – you’ll find a shady-looking character named Everard. He’ll ask you to help him find an object called the Jadeite Orb.

The next time you head toward the oxcart stand in town, you’ll be approached by a beastren named Offulve. He’ll tell you he’s in trouble with (and danger from) his boss because the Jadeite Orb he’d been delivering got stolen.
Your job is to find the orb and return it to one of these two people.
Optional: Seek a bandit’s advice on the Jadeite Orb
If you want to explore all options in the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can optionally seek advice from a bandit or criminal in jail, as some pawns suggest. Talking to this character can provide hints about the orb’s location, though it’s not strictly necessary since you can directly purchase the orb from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop. This step adds a bit of roleplay and immersion but can be skipped for a more straightforward approach to acquiring the Jadeite Orb.
Any of your pawns who can serve as guides in the quest will suggest talking to a criminal about where stolen goods might end up – criminals like those in Vernworth’s jail (fine, gaol).

Head to the gaol, and you’ll find one such criminal in the second cell on the right. For a 500 gold bribe – that will make any nearby guards attack you – he’ll tell you the place you should look is Ibrahim’s Scrap Store.
In the Checkpoint Rest Town.
Right around the corner from where you met Everard.
Where to find the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can find the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2 at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store, located on the west side of Checkpoint Rest Town. The orb costs 7,500 gold and Ibrahim also offers to create a forgery of the orb for 2,000 gold, which takes a few in-game days to complete. This forgery plays a key role if you want to maximize your rewards by giving the real orb to one NPC and the fake to another. Ibrahim’s Scrap Store is somewhat hidden behind a thick bush near Everard’s location, so keep an eye out for the small shop tucked away in a back alley.
Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop – the same place you can buy the Beastren Mask to get past the Battahl gate as a human – sells the Jadeite Orb for 7,500 gold.
You can also ask him to make forgeries for you. A forgery of the Jadeite Orb will cost you 2,000 gold, and while you’ll have to give the genuine Jadeite Orb to either Everard or Offulve, we’ve detailed a method below that allows you to collect rewards from both of them.
Option 1: Give the Jadeite Orb to Offulve
Option 1: Give the Jadeite Orb to Offulve
If you choose to give the genuine Jadeite Orb to Offulve in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll find him near the northeast entrance of Checkpoint Rest Town. Offulve gratefully accepts the real orb and, in return, rewards you with 3,000 gold and an Elite Camping Kit, a valuable item for safe resting during your travels. While this option offers a useful camping kit, it yields less gold and fewer unique rewards compared to giving the orb to Everard. Additionally, if you attempt to give Everard a forgery instead, he will have it appraised and may react negatively, potentially leading to conflict. This path is straightforward and suits players who prefer a simpler resolution without resorting to trickery.
When he first approached you, Offulve told a (genuinely) sad story about being exploited and wanting to sell the orb so he could escape Everard. Returning the orb to him is more of a “good guy” ending.

He’ll thank you profusely and reward you with 3,000 gold and an elite camping kit before setting off on his new life.
After that, you’ll have to return to Everard and tell him you couldn’t find the orb. He’ll say some sinister things, and then go about his way.
Option 2: Give the Jadeite Orb to Everard
Option 2: Give the Jadeite Orb to Everard
Choosing to give the genuine Jadeite Orb to Everard in Dragon’s Dogma 2 rewards you with 12,000 gold and the Ring of Skullduggery, which increases damage when attacking from behind. Everard, a somewhat shady dealer found outside Celeste’s Smithy in Checkpoint Rest Town, will immediately seek to verify the orb’s authenticity by sending it to Ibrahim, the forger. If you opt to give Everard a forged orb instead, you must bribe Ibrahim to convince Everard it is genuine, or risk hostility. Giving Everard the real orb is a straightforward way to complete the quest and gain a valuable reward, though some players combine this with giving a fake orb to Offulve to maximize overall gains.
While Everard is not the Thief Vocation-Maister, he’s definitely connected to a powerful underworld group. Returning the orb to him probably won’t end well for Offulve, but it does have better rewards and promises to bring more quests in the future.

If you return the orb to him, the first thing he’ll do is take it to Ibrahim to have it verified. Follow him to the Scrap Shop, and then, when he says to wait, run over to where he was standing. That will trigger the rest of the scene.
If you tried to give him a forgery (and you don’t pay off Ibrahim to lie for you), you’ll get thrown in jail (gaol). If it’s the real one, you’ll get 12,000 gold and the Ring of Skullduggery that increases your damage when attacking from behind.
Option 3: Forge the Jadeite Orb and collect both rewards
To collect both rewards in the Jadeite Orb quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to obtain a forgery of the Jadeite Orb from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop after buying the real one. Once the fake orb is ready, give the forgery to Offulve and the genuine Jadeite Orb to Everard. Offulve will accept the fake orb without verifying it, rewarding you with 3,000 gold, an Elite Camping Kit, and 1,000 XP. Meanwhile, Everard will receive the real orb and reward you with 12,000 gold and the Ring of Skullduggery, which increases damage when attacking foes from behind. This method allows you to gain both sets of rewards, though it costs extra gold for the forgery and bribing, and may strain your relationship with Offulve, but it has no known long-term consequences in the game.
Of course, Ibrahim has a talent for creating high-quality forgeries, so for 2.000 gold, you could get him to make a copy of the Jadeite Orb. When you pick it up a day later, you’ll have an Imitation Jadeite Orb. Its description reads, “An exquisite imitation of a valuable, iridescent jewel.”
In theory, you can give the imitation orb to either party. but Everard will always bring the Orb to Ibrahim to have it appraised. If you’ve given Everard the fake, you can pay off Ibrahim after Everard steps away, but his silence has a price: 12,000 gold. That payoff would wipe out any money you’d make from returning the Orb to Everard. It’s a bit easier to give the fake Orb to Offulve, though you may hear a grumpy comment about it from your pawn. This way you’ll be able to collect both rewards.
Update (April 16): We’ve added a method that allows you to use an Imitation Jadeite Orb to collect both rewards from this quest.
Who is the best person to give the Jadeite Orb to in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The best person to give the Jadeite Orb to in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Everard, but with a clever twist: give Everard the real Jadeite Orb and give Offulve a forged fake. This approach nets you the highest rewards-12,000 gold and the powerful Ring of Skullduggery from Everard, plus 3,000 gold and an Elite Camping Kit from Offulve-while avoiding negative consequences like imprisonment. To pull this off, you must bribe the forger Ibrahim to certify the fake orb as genuine when Everard checks it, allowing you to keep both rewards safely.
Should I prioritize giving the real orb to Offulve or Everard for better rewards
You should prioritize giving the real Jadeite Orb to Everard for better rewards. Everard offers a much higher payout of 12,000 gold and the valuable Ring of Skullduggery, which increases damage when attacking foes from behind. Offulve, on the other hand, gives a smaller reward of 3,000 gold and an Elite Camping Kit.
For the best overall outcome, the recommended strategy is to give Everard the real Jadeite Orb and give Offulve a forged fake. Offulve accepts the fake without question, allowing you to collect rewards from both: the Ring of Skullduggery and 12,000 gold from Everard, plus 3,000 gold and the Elite Camping Kit from Offulve. This method requires bribing Ibrahim, the forger, to certify the fake orb as real when Everard checks it, but it maximizes your total rewards.
