Pikipek takes the spotlight this Community Day, offering Trainers a chance to power up their teams with a special charged move, boosted spawns, and shiny encounters that make every catch count.
What Community Day move does Pikipek’s evolution learn?
Pikipek’s evolution, Trumbeak, learns the charged move Drill Peck during its Community Day event. This Flying-type attack deals 65 damage and costs 45 energy, offering solid STAB performance for raids and gym battles. Evolve before the three-hour window ends to secure the exclusive move on your final evolution, Toucannon.
If you evolve Trumbeak into Toucannon from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. in your local time, it will learn the charged move Beak Blast.
If you miss out on evolving it during this period, you will likely be able to evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get Beak Blast. If you don’t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM to get the move.
How does Toucannon do in the meta?
Toucannon can be a solid pick in PvE and raids when its Turbo Thunder or Flying Tactics set fits the meta, but its baseline stats and move coverage often place it behind more consistent flying-type options. It thrives on mass neutral headers and solid bulk, yet its performance hinges on IVs and the specific charged move chosen, making it a situational contributor rather than a standout staple.
Beak Blast actually is pretty strong, making Toucannon a good flying-type attacker for gyms and raids. There are a lot of rarer Pokémon that are stronger than it (like Mega Rayquaza, of course), but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to grab a high IV one and level it up during this event. Set it up with Peck and Beak Blast for success.
This legacy move is also an improvement for PvP, but some experts on The Silph Road subreddit note that Toucannon still may be too fragile for this to improve its performance too much. You can give it a go with Peck alongside Drill Peck and Beak Blast.
What charged move does Toucannon learn on Pikipek Community Day
Toucannon learns the Charged Move Beak Blast during the Pikipek Community Day event in Pokémon Go. Evolving Trumbeak into Toucannon during the event hours (typically 2-5 p.m. local time) or up to four hours afterward grants this exclusive Flying-type attack.
Move Details
Beak Blast delivers 110 power in Trainer Battles and 125 power in Gyms and raids. The move has a charge-up mechanic, boosting its next attack but leaving Toucannon vulnerable during that time.
Acquisition Notes
Players missing the window can use an Elite TM (Flying) later, though the event provided the primary chance. Pair it with Peck for optimal Flying-type damage in raids or PvP.
How strong is Beak Blast in PvP versus raids
Beak Blast performs strongly in PvP but sees more limited use in raids. In Pokémon Go Battle League (PvP), it deals 110 damage for 55 energy and lowers the opponent’s Attack stat by one stage, enhancing Toucannon’s viability especially in Ultra League with moves like Peck and Drill Peck.
PvP Strengths
Beak Blast boosts Toucannon’s win rates against foes like Altaria, Togekiss, and Talonflame by providing spammy damage and a debuff for shieldless scenarios. Shadow Toucannon excels further due to higher attack output, making it a meta-relevant Flying-type despite mono-type weaknesses.
Raid Performance
In gyms and raids (PvE), Beak Blast outputs 125 damage over 2.5 seconds for 50 energy, but Toucannon’s low bulk and stats prevent it from competing with top Flying attackers like Megas or legendaries. It suits low-tier raids at best.
