When you’re done, our shrine locations page and interactive Hyrule map can direct you toward something else to do.

Musanokir Shrine location

Musanokir Shrine is located in the Korok Forest, deep within the Great Hyrule Forest region. To reach it, players must first enter the forest through the Depths beneath the Lost Woods, since the surface path is shrouded in fog and prevents direct travel. After restoring the Master Sword’s resting place, the shrine becomes accessible near the central clearing. Its travel point is convenient for returning to the forest and exploring nearby landmarks like the Deku Tree Chasm.

Musanokir Shrine is in the center of Korok Forest (in the Great Hyrule Forest) to the south of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, but you won’t be able to reach it by paraglider. The exact coordinates are (0408, 2133, 0144) – and it is accessible by Ascending up from the Depths near the Rikonasum Lightroot at (0436, 2094, -0588).

Musanokir Shrine walkthrough

The Musanokir Shrine centers around precise use of motion controls to manipulate large stone platforms. Begin by rotating and aligning the blocks to create a path across the gaps, using the environment’s geometry to maintain balance. Each puzzle section increases in complexity, requiring careful timing and orientation adjustments. After aligning the final structure, ascend to the upper level to reach the shrine’s reward and complete the trial.

Musanokir Shrine tests your knowledge of physics and momentum by swinging heavy metal cubes on pendulums. Here’s how to get through it.

1. Proceed down the stairs to find a collapsed bridge with a metal ball attached to it and a large metal cube on the other side of the gap.

2. Use Ultrahand to grab the metal ball and attach it to the large metal cube, raising the collapsed bridge in the process.

3. Readjust the large metal cube to raise the bridge even further if you can’t make it across the gap.

4. Cross the bridge and look to the right to find a metal ball hanging by a chain, and a large target.

5. Collect the large metal cube used to raise the bridge, and attach it to the metal ball hanging by a chain using Ultrahand.

6. Grab onto the large metal cube with Ultrahand.

7. Pull it back into the air, and release it so the metal cube will hit the target.

8. Continue into the next room to find another large target, a metal cube, a metal ball connected to a block, a log, and a chest on the right wall.

9. Place the metal cube against the right wall, and line it up with the edge of the floor.

10. Grab the log and lean it against the metal cube, creating a ramp to climb on top of the cube.

11. Attach the log to the side of the cube to make a bridge that points towards the chest.

12. Walk across the log and open the chest to find a large Zonai charge.

13. Return to the other side and recollect your building materials by unsticking your creation.

14. Attach the large ball to the metal ball hanging from the from the block.

15. Attach the log to the side of the block closest to the large target.

Best route to reach Korok Forest for Musanokir Shrine

Korok Forest, home to Musanokir Shrine, is inaccessible via the traditional surface path through the Lost Woods due to gloom corruption until cleared. The optimal route starts from Woodland Stable and uses the Depths to bypass obstacles.

Step-by-Step Depths Route

Travel north from Woodland Stable to Minshi Woods Chasm (around 1054, 2107, 0080). Dive in and follow the Poe trail northwest toward Korok Grove, activating lightroots for visibility.

Ascend the large stone pillar directly beneath the Great Deku Tree’s center (coordinates roughly 0400, 2150 in Depths) to emerge right in front of Musanokir Shrine at (0408, 2133, 0144).

Clearing the Gloom

Defeat Phantom Ganon inside the Deku Tree’s chasm after jumping down from the shrine area. This restores the forest, allowing surface fast travel via the shrine.

Alternative Early Access

If gloom persists, paraglide or ascend cautiously in the Depths while avoiding Like Likes; the pillar ascent remains the safest entry.

Best entrance to Korok Forest from the Depths

The best entrance to Korok Forest from the Depths targets the massive stone pillar directly under the Great Deku Tree.

Entry Chasm

Enter via Minshi Woods Chasm at approximately (1038, 1662, 0158), southeast of the forest near Woodland Stable. Dive down into Minshi Grove and head northwest, following Poe statues and activating lightroots like Rikonasum Lightroot (0412, 2159, -0586) for guidance and illumination.

Pillar Ascent

Climb the giant stone pillar surrounded by tree roots at the Rikonasum Lightroot base. Stand underneath the flat top and use the Ascend ability to emerge precisely in Korok Grove near Musanokir Shrine at (0408, 2133, 0144).

Tips for Success

Bring Brightbloom Seeds to combat gloom; avoid ground hazards by gliding or climbing. Immediately activate the shrine for fast travel once surfaced.
