Hidden among the steep cliffs of Hyrule’s Great Plateau, the Ekochiu Shrine challenges players to master the Recall ability in clever ways that twist time and motion. Every spinning platform and flying block tests precision and timing, rewarding sharp observation more than brute strength.
Ekochiu Shrine location
Ekochiu Shrine is located in the Great Hyrule Forest region, just south of the Korok Forest entrance. You can reach it by following the path leading north from the Woodland Stable and using Recall to cross the rotating platforms in the nearby chasm area. The shrine sits atop a small plateau surrounded by trees, making it easy to spot once you approach from the east. Its coordinates are roughly (1065, 1279, -0794).
The Ekochiu Shrine is found in the Great Hyrule Field region of Tears of the Kingdom. You’ll find it at the coordinates of (1059, 1276, 0045).
Ekochiu Shrine walkthrough
Inside Ekochiu Shrine, use the Recall ability to reverse the motion of platforms and reach higher ledges safely. Begin by observing the moving blocks and timing your actions to ride them upward. When you see a rotating platform carrying a large ball, activate Recall to reverse its spin and create a path across. Continue manipulating the mechanisms this way until you reach the final chamber and collect the Light of Blessing from the altar.
The Ekochiu Shrine tests Link’s ability to use Recall, which rewinds time. You’ll have to be clever with the use of the ability to solve the shrine’s puzzle.
1. You’ll see a button on the floor when you enter the shrine. Have Link stand on the button, and the square platform in front of it will shoot forward and across the gap, then back to its starting point.
2. Step onto the square platform and use the Recall ability, which will rewind time – the square platform will shoot back across the gap without having Link step on the button.

3. Head through the door and into the next chamber.
4. The next chamber has a block falling from a high platform that looks to be inaccessible, across a gap filled with water. Before we handle getting up onto that high platform, we’ll grab the treasure chest hidden on the right side of the room. Use Ultrahand to grab a block and move it to the platform you’re standing on, right up against the back wall.

5. Hop onto the block, and to your right side you’ll see the platform and the chest. Inside you’ll find a Zonaite shield.
6. Next, to get up to that high platform, use Ultrahand and move the block from its position close to the platform near you, across the water, and lift it up to the platform. Then, bring it back to the platform near you. The idea here is that you’re creating the pathway the block will follow when using Recall. You can see the path we “drew” with Ultrahand in the image below.

7. Hop onto the block and use Recall. Once the block reaches the higher platform, jump off and into the next chamber.
8. The next chamber is an upside down U shape, and you enter the room at the center of the shape. In front of you at the end of the platform, there’s a button that activates a platform at the other end of the room, past a gap. To your right, there’s a block below. Use Ultrahand to move that block to the moving platform at the end of the room.

9. Use the ladder to climb back to the higher platform.
10. Stand on the button, which will shoot the block high into the air.
11. Run back down to the block on the lower platform. Climb up it, then use Recall to shoot the block, once again, into the air. Hop once the block is at its highest point, then use your glider to cross the abyss and reach the far end platform.
How to get the Zonaite Shield chest in Ekochiu Shrine
In the Ekochiu Shrine, the Zonaite Shield chest is in the second (water) room and is reached using the falling cube and either Ultrahand or Recall.
Simple method (Ultrahand jump)
-
Enter the second room and wait for the big cube to fall from above into the flowing water.
-
Use Ultrahand to grab that cube and move it over to the right-hand corner of the room, next to the small ledge with the chest.
-
Set the cube so it’s stable and not drifting away in the water, with one face close to or touching the ledge.
-
Climb onto the cube, then jump from the top of the cube to the ledge and open the chest to get the Zonaite Shield (around 11 defense).
Alternative Recall/paraglider method
-
Let the cube fall into the water, then quickly climb onto it and use Recall so it rides back up to the higher starting ledge.
-
When the cube reaches its highest point, turn around and glide or jump to the side shelf where the chest sits, then open it for the Zonaite Shield.
If you tell me whether you have Ultrahand and the paraglider yet, I can narrow this down to the one exact approach that fits your situation.
How to complete the final puzzle after the Zonaite Shield chest in Ekochiu Shrine
After the Zonaite Shield chest, you just have one more Recall launch puzzle in the last room to finish Ekochiu Shrine.
Getting from the chest room to the final room
-
Once you’ve grabbed the Zonaite Shield, return to the water and use the falling cube to ride up to the high ledge: stand on the cube and use Recall so it carries you up to the third room.
-
Go through the door to reach the final, U-shaped chamber with a pressure plate ahead and a cube down on a lower level to the right.
Setting up the launch
-
Drop down to the lower level on the right and find the large cube in the back/right corner.
-
Use Ultrahand to lift that cube and place it on the small square “pad” or launch platform right in front of the fence, beneath where the pressure plate’s mechanism points.
-
Climb the ladder back up to the pressure plate at the middle of the room.
Using Recall to cross the final gap
-
Step on the pressure plate to launch the cube straight up once, then wait for it to fall back down and settle on the launcher.
-
Drop back down, climb onto the cube, and activate Recall so it repeats that launch motion while you’re standing on it.
-
As the cube reaches the top of its rise, jump off and open your paraglider (or do a long jump if you don’t have it) to glide across the big gap to the far platform with the exit sigil.
-
Interact with the sigil to get your Light of Blessing and fully complete Ekochiu Shrine.
If you tell me whether you’re missing the paraglider or having trouble with the jump timing, I can give a very short, timing-focused tip for that exact part.
