Hestu is back and bigger than ever, but finding him in Tears of the Kingdom isn’t as simple as you might think. Here’s where the giant Korok hides this time-and how his bag of seed rewards can make your adventure far easier.
Don’t fret, though, as we’ll be pointing out all the ways to find him so you can start cashing in your hard-earned Korok Seeds. Below are the three Hestu locations we’ve found in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and how we got to them.
But bear in mind, Hestu moves around a fair bit and the order in which he appears in certain locations seems to change based on how you personally play through the game – and where you are in terms of progressing through the main story.
First Hestu location – Lindor’s Brow
Hestu’s first spot can be found near Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower, west of Hyrule Castle. You’ll see him standing beside the road among the trees, troubled by a pair of hostile Koroks. Once you defeat the enemies, Hestu will thank you and offer to expand your weapon, bow, or shield stash using Korok Seeds. After helping him here, he moves further east, so make sure to trade your early seeds before he departs.
The first Hestu location is northwest of Lookout Landing at the coordinates (-1714, 1067, 0202), following the main road that leads to Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. Meeting him will kickstart the “Hestu’s Concerns” side adventure, which we’ll be detailing below. But remember, this won’t be the last time you’ll have to track him down.

Once you find Hestu at Lindor’s Brow, he will ask for one Korok Seed as an introduction. Then, feel free to choose whichever pouch slot you want between weapons, shields, and bows. If you have at least two more Korok Seeds on you, he’ll accept them for an additional slot.
After you’re done giving him Korok Seeds, Hestu will mention he’s thinking of parting ways to the east, as he’s looking for a “place to relax” somewhere around there.

I came across Hestu during my first few hours exploring Hyrule. By that point, I hadn’t even reached any of the four main regions following the main quest. If you started making progress on the main questline and skipped Lindor’s Brow, the first place Hestu appears will likely be Lookout Landing (more about this in the third section below).
Second Hestu location – Korok Forest
After meeting Hestu near Lindor’s Brow, he moves to the Korok Forest, his permanent location for the rest of the game. You can find him near the entrance of the Great Deku Tree once the forest is restored. Speak with him there to continue trading Korok Seeds for more inventory slots. This spot is convenient because it’s central, safe, and easy to revisit whenever you gather more seeds during your travels.
The Korok Forest is by far the best place to head to if you want Hestu to stay in a fixed location. The downside is that before Hestu appears here, you’ll first need make it through a few different trials – starting with finding your way through the Lost Woods and ending with a fight against Phantom Ganon.
We cover the general steps below, but if you find yourself stumped at any point, consult our guides for getting through the Lost Woods and clearing the Deku Tree of gloom.

Northeast of the Castle Ruins and southeast of the Great Hyrule Forest, you’ll see a path emerging from the north side of the Woodland Stable.
Around its center, right above Minshi Woods, there is a chasm that leads to the Depths, at the coordinates (1033, 1660, 0157), which is aptly called “Minshi Woods Chasm.”
Dive in, and you’ll end up right in Minshi Grove at the coordinates (1055, 1676, -0613). You can use the lit pillars to know when you’re approaching the ground so you can glide safely.

Once you emerge in the Korok Forest, you’ll notice Hestu isn’t immediately present upon your arrival. First, you need to help the Deku Tree by clearing the chasm inside it and defeating Phantom Ganon. It’s a tough fight, but one you can overcome if you prepare yourself accordingly.
Once the encounter is over, return to the surface (you can fast travel to the Musanokir Shrine next to the Deku Tree!) and, lo and behold, your pal Hestu will be waiting for you at the coordinates (0412, 2124, 0143) from here on out.
As we mentioned, after you gain access to Hestu in the Korok Forest, he will stay there from that moment on. If you want to avoid having to manually search across Hyrule for him, this is a good method to lock Hestu into one easily approachable spot.
Third Hestu location – Lookout Landing
After you’ve met Hestu near Lindor’s Brow, he later appears at Lookout Landing, just southwest of the Skyview Tower. Here, he’ll stay permanently once you’ve expanded his inventory twice. You can continue trading Korok Seeds with him to increase your weapon, bow, and shield slots without needing to track him across Hyrule again. This makes Lookout Landing the most convenient place to upgrade your storage throughout the rest of the adventure.
If you haven’t yet cleared the Korok Forest but already traded with Hestu at Lindor’s Brow, head to Lookout Landing.

However, based on experiences of AELGAMES staffers, Hestu will only appear at Lookout Landing once you’ve made progress in the main story quests.
So if you’ve already completed at least one temple but haven’t yet ventured into the Lost Woods, you should be able to find Hestu near a tree at the coordinates (-0220, 0063, 0018), right between the clothing store and the stable.

Korok Seeds reward from Hestu
Hestu rewards players who bring him Korok Seeds by expanding their inventory space for weapons, bows, and shields. Each upgrade costs a specific number of seeds, which increases progressively with each expansion. Players can choose which type of inventory slot to increase first, depending on their needs. After a few upgrades, Hestu relocates to new areas across Hyrule, allowing continued expansion until all available slots are obtained.
Finding Korok Seeds and tracking down Hestu can be tricky, but the reward is worth it. (And no, we aren’t talking about Hestu’s Gift of golden poop.)
At whichever location you find Hestu, you’re able to trade Korok Seeds with him for extra slots in your pouches, allowing you to carry more weapons, bows, and shields at any given time. Turning in Korok Seeds for inventory space may be even more crucial in Tears of the Kingdom than in Breath of the Wild, since Link’s Fuse ability means there are a near-infinite number of Fuse combinations you’ll want to experiment with. Our dedicated page on how to increase your inventory will walk you through the costs and best ways to plan out your upgrades.
How to complete Hestu’s Concerns side adventure
Hestu’s Concerns is a short side adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that starts when you first meet Hestu and trade a Korok Seed for inventory expansion. It combines helping him with nearby threats and unlocking his upgrade services.
Starting the Quest
Find Hestu at his first spot northwest of Lookout Landing on Hyrule Ridge (coordinates around -1700, 1070, 0200), before completing your first major dungeon. Speak to him to trigger the quest-he’ll mention being scared of nearby “trees,” which are actually Evermeans enemies. If you progress too far (like finishing a temple), he’ll move to Lookout Landing, skipping the combat part but still completing via seed trade.
Defeating the Evermeans
-
Approach the two suspicious trees uphill from Hestu; they’ll animate into Evermeans (weak tree-like foes).
-
Attack with an axe, fire arrows (e.g., Fire Fruit fuse), or melee combos to chop them down quickly-they have low health but hit hard up close.
-
Return to Hestu after they’re defeated; he’ll relax and ask for a Korok Seed to “dance” (upgrade your inventory).
Completing with Korok Seed Trade
Hand over at least one Korok Seed (find nearby Koroks or from prior exploration). Choose to expand your weapon, bow, or shield stash-the quest ends here with Hestu’s song and dance, marking it complete in your log. This unlocks ongoing trades with him at future spots like Lookout Landing or Korok Forest.
Where is Hestu after completing Hestu’s Concerns
After completing “Hestu’s Concerns,” Hestu moves from his initial spot on Hyrule Ridge to Lookout Landing, the central hub town southeast of his first location.
Next Location Details
He wanders around Lookout Landing’s central plaza, near the stable, general store, or under a tree in the southeast corner (coordinates roughly -0024, 0059, 0018).
You can trade multiple Korok Seeds here for inventory upgrades (weapons, bows, or shields) before he relocates again.
Final Destination
Once you access Korok Forest in the Lost Woods (after progressing the Deku Tree storyline), Hestu settles permanently there in front of the Great Deku Tree (coordinates 0412, 2124, 0143).
This is his home base for all remaining upgrades until your inventory is maxed.
