Pokémon Scarlet Violet Version Exclusives List – New Returning Paradox Legendary DLC

Guides

Version-exclusive Pokémon, secrets tucked behind each badge-scarlet or violet, the hunt for the missing stars begins now.

Splitting Pokémon up by game can make deciding which of the two to purchase a hard (or maybe easy) decision, so to make sure you grab the version that suits your tastes the most, we’ve compiled a list of all the exclusive Pokémon confirmed to only be in one game or the other.

In addition to version-exclusive Pokémon, there are a few other exclusives to each game, like school uniforms and professors. Pokémon Scarlet stars Professor Sada and features orange uniforms, while Pokémon Violet stars Professor Turo and features purple uniforms.

If you tell me which version you’re playing and whether you have DLC, I can list only the ones you’re missing for your Pokédex.

How to trade version exclusive Pokémon between Scarlet and Violet

You trade version exclusives in Scarlet and Violet the same way as any other Pokémon, but there are a few tricks that make it much easier.

Basic trading methods

  1. Local trade with a friend

    • Both players open the menu with X, then choose Poké Portal → Link Trade.

    • Select Set Link Code, decide on an 8-digit code together (for example, 1234-5678), and both enter the same code.

    • Once you connect, each selects the exclusive they want to give and confirms the trade.

  2. Online trade with friends

    • Make sure you’re connected to the internet (press L on the main menu or Poké Portal screen; requires Nintendo Switch Online).

    • Go to Poké Portal → Link Trade → Set Link Code, use a code only you and your friend know, then trade the exclusives you agreed on.

  3. Surprise Trade (random)

    • In Poké Portal → Surprise Trade, pick a Pokémon to send out.

    • You’ll be matched with a random trainer and might occasionally get version exclusives, but it’s unreliable for targeting specific ones.

Using community trade codes for exclusives

Players have set up shared link trade codes specifically for Scarlet/Violet exclusives (for example, a code where people trade Armarouge for Ceruledge, Great Tusk for Iron Treads, etc.). These codes pair you with strangers trying to swap the same “equivalent” exclusives.

Typical flow:

  • Connect online, then go to Poké Portal → Link Trade → Set Link Code.

  • Enter the community code for the pair you want (for example, the Armarouge↔Ceruledge code).

  • Put up your version’s Pokémon and check that your partner has put up the matching one before confirming.

  • If they aren’t offering what you want, cancel and search again with the same code.

If you like, tell me which exclusives you’re missing, and I can suggest a concrete trading plan (what you should offer and what to ask for) for Scarlet vs Violet.
