Spring has sprung in Pokémon Go, bringing with it the charming grass-type Gossifleur from the Galar region, ready to bloom in your collection during the ’Spring into Spring’ event. Whether you’re spotting it in the wild, hatching it from 5 km eggs, or completing event challenges, this floral Pokémon is easier to find than you might think. And with just 50 Candy, you can evolve Gossifleur into the fluffy, dandelion-inspired Eldegoss, adding a fresh new face to your Pokédex before the event ends.
As with the recent addition of Nickit, Gossifleur appears in the wild as part of this event, but can also be sourced elsewhere if you need extra Candy, and/or want one with the best possible stats before evolving.
How to get Gossifleur in Pokémon Go
Gossifleur can be obtained in Pokémon Go primarily during the “Spring into Spring” event, which started in April 2025. The easiest way to catch Gossifleur is to find it in the wild, where it spawns frequently, especially in sunny or clear weather conditions. Additionally, Gossifleur can hatch from 5 km eggs obtained during the event, appear as a reward from specific Field Research tasks, and be earned through Collection Challenges and Timed Research. Using Incense, Lure Modules, and playing near PokéStops can increase your chances of encountering Gossifleur. For evolving it into Eldegoss, you will need 50 Gossifleur Candy, which can be collected by catching multiple Gossifleur or walking with it as your buddy.
First appearing in April 2025’s “Spring into Spring” event, on its debut, Gossifleur can be found:
- In the wild
- By hatching 5 km eggs
- In the “Spring into Spring” event Field Research (one of three “Hatch 2 Eggs” task encounter rewards)
- In the “Spring into Spring” Premium Timed Research Ticket (rewarded upon completing the first and second page of challenges)
- As a “Spring into Spring Hatch Challenge” Collection Challenge reward
As with Nickit most recently, Gossifleur is a fairly common wild spawn during the event, meaning you should have few issues finding one for your Pokédex.
The other methods, however, are a little more unpredictable. Gossifleur is a Field Research reward for the “Hatch 2 Eggs” task, but is only one of three possible encounter outcomes.
It can also appear in eggs, and while we’d usually recommend against using the loot box-like system to source a particular Pokémon, since getting a Gossifleur is one of the requirements in the “Hatch Challenge” Collection Challenge, it’s worth opening 5 km eggs you pick up during the event period to at least tick this off the list. Doing this challenge also gives you an additional Gossifleur encounter if you need it.
Finally, Gossifleur will also appear twice as a reward for completing the “Spring into Spring” Premium Timed Research Ticket. Again, Gossifleur is common enough in the wild that you shouldn’t feel compelled to spend the $2 (or regional equivalent) to rely on this, so consider it an added extra.
How to get evolution Eldegoss in Pokémon Go
To get Eldegoss in Pokémon Go, you first need to catch Gossifleur, which is commonly found during the Spring into Spring event. Once you have Gossifleur, evolve it by using 50 Gossifleur Candy. You can gather Candy by catching multiple Gossifleur in the wild, hatching them from 5 km eggs, or completing event tasks. Using Pinap Berries while catching Gossifleur doubles the Candy earned per catch, speeding up the evolution process. If you lack enough Candy, you can also use Rare Candy or trade with friends to obtain Eldegoss. This evolution method is currently the only way to get Eldegoss in the game.
To get Eldegoss in Pokémon Go, you must evolve Gossifleur with 50 Candy.
With the variety of ways you can get Gossifleur during the event, sourcing Candy shouldn’t be huge issue. But as new Pokémon tend to disappear from the game for a short period after their debut, you’ll likely want to accrue as much as you can to guarantee Eldegoss’s Pokédex entry in a timely manner.
As such, the usual methods of squeezing in some extra Candy should still apply, such as using Pinap Berries when catching, and having a grass-type Mega Evolution active throughout the event.
Can Gossifleur be shiny in in Pokémon Go?
As of April 2025, Gossifleur cannot be shiny in Pokémon Go. Although it was introduced during the Spring into Spring event, its shiny form has not yet been released and remains unavailable in the game. Niantic may introduce a shiny variant in future events, but currently, players can only catch the regular version of Gossifleur.
Gossifleur cannot be shiny in Pokémon Go on its debut at the time of writing. This is par the course for new additions to the game, and chances are we’ll be waiting for some time for that to change.
Want to know the easiest way to catch Gossifleur during the event
The easiest way to catch Gossifleur during the Spring into Spring event in Pokémon Go is by hunting it in the wild, where it will be spawning frequently throughout the event duration. Playing daily and exploring your surroundings will likely net you enough Gossifleur to evolve it into Eldegoss quickly, possibly even on the first day of the event. To boost your chances further, use Incense or Daily Adventure Incense to increase spawn rates around you. Additionally, the Pokémon radar will prioritize Gossifleur sightings until you add it to your Pokédex, making it easier to locate nearby spawns. Hatching 5 km eggs is less reliable due to the limited egg pool and chance factors, so focusing on wild encounters is recommended.
What’s the quickest way to find Gossifleur during Spring into Spring
The quickest way to find Gossifleur during the Spring into Spring event in Pokémon Go is to hunt for it in the wild, where it has boosted spawn rates throughout the event period. Playing daily and exploring areas with green spaces will increase your chances, especially if you use Incense or Daily Adventure Incense to attract more Pokémon around you. Additionally, the Pokémon radar prioritizes Gossifleur sightings until you catch it, making it easier to locate nearby spawns. Sunny or Clear weather conditions also boost its encounter rate and CP, so playing during such weather can help you find stronger Gossifleur quickly. While hatching 5 km eggs can yield Gossifleur, it is less reliable than wild encounters due to the egg pool variety and event timing restrictions. Completing Field Research and Collection Challenges can also provide guaranteed encounters but require more time investment. Overall, focusing on wild encounters with spawn-boosting aids is the fastest method.
