‘Celeste’s Journals’ quest walkthrough in Arc Raiders

Celeste’s Journals is a side quest that sends players across ruined outposts to gather the scattered writings of Celeste, a scientist studying Raider behavior. Each journal is found near abandoned research gear or damaged signal towers, often guarded by sentinels or drones. Collecting all entries reveals fragments of Celeste’s final transmission and provides unique lore about the Raider network’s origins. After locating every journal, return to the central base terminal to upload the data and receive experience points along with rare crafting materials.

Since you need to extract with two of Celeste’s journals and bring them back to Speranza, we’d highly recommend running an augment with two safe pockets. This way, once you find them both, you can stuff them in your safe pocket and keep them even if you die. If you don’t have any augments with two safe pockets available, then run a free loadout because only getting one back to Speranza doesn’t serve any purpose.

Where to find Celeste’s journal at the South Swamp Outpost

You can pick up the journals in any order, but from our experience, Dam Battlegrounds has more spawn locations in the southern part of the map, so you’re more likely to be closer to the South Swamp Outpost first.

The area you’re looking for is inside the main dome in this area of the swamp, directly above the “S” in “Swamp” on the map. You’ll find two beds, one of which has the journal, in the smaller adjoining room to the main building. Pick it up, then you’ll want to head north.

Where to find Celeste’s journal at the northern outpost overlooking the Red Lakes

This one’s a little trickier to find because the northern outpost isn’t a marked location on the map. Instead, you’re looking for Raider Outpost East. This is directly north of the Red Lakes, north-east of the Power Generation Complex, which you should also pay a quick visit to if you can to try and grab a power rod.

To get here from the South Swamp Outpost, we’d recommend going directly north then heading east at the West Broken Bridge, because there’s much more cover, as opposed to going directly through the middle of the map which is likely laden with Arc enemies, or across the Red Lakes which is incredibly open.

It’s a similar structure to the one at the South Swamp Outpost, so head inside and look for the same area, although this bed will be against the wall by itself. Pick up the journal then hightail it out of there, either to the raider hatch to the south if you brought a key, or the lift to the west if you didn’t.

Best loadout for completing Celeste’s Journals quickly

The best loadout for completing Celeste’s Journals quickly in Arc Raiders emphasizes safe item retention and mobility to cover the map’s distances efficiently.โ€‹โ€‹

Core Augment

Equip the blue Looter Augment (version two) with two Safe Pockets to protect both journals if you die before extraction; this is essential since the quest requires both items in one raid.โ€‹โ€‹

Weapons and Ammo

Carry a reliable primary weapon like an assault rifle or SMG with ample ammo to handle ARC patrols and raiders during the long trek between outposts. A secondary pistol suffices for quick swaps, prioritizing lightweight options to maintain speed.โ€‹

Consumables and Gear

Pack 2-3 Adrenaline injectors for sprinting across the Dam Battlegrounds, plus medkits for sustain. Opt for a free loadout if lacking premium augments, but start raids with 25-30 minutes on the timer to account for travel.โ€‹โ€‹

Which weapons balance speed and ammo efficiency for this quest

SMGs and assault rifles strike the optimal balance of speed and ammo efficiency for Celeste’s Journals in Arc Raiders, allowing quick clears of patrols during outpost runs without frequent reloads.โ€‹

Recommended Primary Weapons

  • P90 SMG: High fire rate for rapid enemy dispatch, moderate ammo consumption suits short engagements between journal pickups.โ€‹

  • AK-47 or similar assault rifles: Controlled bursts maintain ammo economy while delivering sufficient damage at range across the Dam map.โ€‹

Secondary Options

Pistols like the basic sidearm serve as backups with excellent ammo efficiency for emergencies, freeing primary slots for speed-focused primaries. Pair with 200-300 rounds total to cover the trek without scavenging.โ€‹โ€‹
