The Black Ops 6 Open Beta is racing toward its final moments-set to end sharply at 10 a.m. PT on Monday, September 9, 2024. This limited window offers players across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox a last chance to dive into new maps, modes, and unlock exclusive beta rewards before the game’s full release on October 25. Will you make it in time to experience the next evolution of multiplayer warfare?
Unlike previous Call of Duty games, the early access beta period is available to all platforms, and not just PlayStation owners. Then, for those without a beta code, the second weekend will see access fully available as part of an open period. We’re in the second weekend now, which allows you to jump in on Sept. 6.
This page explains when Black Ops 6’s beta releases, how to get access during the early access period with a beta code, and what to expect from the beta.

How Black Ops 6 beta codes and access worked for the first weekend
During the first weekend of the Black Ops 6 beta, early access was granted primarily to players who pre-ordered the game from participating retailers or were active subscribers to qualifying Xbox Game Pass plans. Those who pre-ordered received a 13-character beta code, typically sent via email or printed on their retail receipt, which they had to redeem at the official Call of Duty website to gain access. Digital pre-orders through platforms like the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Battle.net, or Steam automatically validated players for early access without the need for a separate code. This early access period ran from August 30 to September 4, allowing these players to experience the beta ahead of the open beta weekend, which was accessible to all players without a code starting September 6.
Note: You do not need a beta code or a pre-order to access the second weekend running Sept. 6 to Sept. 10 – it’s open to all players across all platforms.
Unlike previous Call of Duty betas, Black Ops 6’s early access period is available to players across all platforms, and not just those on PlayStation.
As well as access through acquiring a beta code or pre-order, for those on Xbox and PC, there is now an additional method through having an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
To get Black Ops 6 beta in early access, you can either:
- Pre-order the game. If you have pre-ordered digitally, you’ll be automatically be granted access on your chosen platform, while physical orders will receive a beta code from that retailer. Pre-orders towards the standard or Vault Editions will grant early access.

How Black Ops 6 beta code redemption worked
To redeem a Black Ops 6 beta code, players needed to visit the official Call of Duty beta redemption page at callofduty.com/betaredeem and log in with their Activision account. After entering their 13-digit beta code and selecting their platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox), they would confirm the redemption. Upon successful registration, a second code would be emailed to them shortly before the beta launch. This second code had to be entered into the respective platform’s store (such as Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store) to download and access the beta. Players who pre-ordered digitally or subscribed to Xbox Game Pass could access the beta without manually redeeming codes. Beta codes were also distributed through promotions and giveaways, with some users receiving their initial code via email after pre-ordering or participating in these events.
Note: You do not need a beta code or a pre-order to access the second weekend running Sept. 6 to Sept. 10 – it’s open to all players across all platforms.
If you have a beta code, you can redeem the code on the official Call of Duty website. Log into your Call of Duty/Activision account (or create one if you haven’t already), enter the code, and select your platform and region.
From there, a code will be emailed to the email address registered to your account soon before the beta period begins.
