Dead Space Remake Peng Treasure Location Find the Hidden Secret

Guides

Hidden deep aboard the Ishimura lies a golden secret that many players miss. The Peng treasure isn’t just a collectible-it’s your ticket to one of Dead Space’s rarest achievements, waiting in plain sight for those who know exactly where to look.

As players work their way through the USG Ishimura in the Dead Space remake, they’re going to see one name pop up a lot: Peng. In posters, on stickers, and in graffiti, it seems this Peng’s all anyone’s ever talking about. So sick and tired of hearing about how brilliant that Peng is. Overrated! While I can’t tell you who or what Peng is, I can tell you how to find the Peng treasure hidden in the Dead Space remake to unlock the “There’s Always Peng!” trophy/achievement.

The good news is for players who have started playing Dead Space but haven’t found this game’s Peng treasure (there’s one in every installment of Dead Space) yet is that it’s a very late-game discovery, and it’s relatively easy to acquire. It’s right on the critical path.

Peng treasure location

The Peng treasure can be found aboard the USG Ishimura during Chapter 11, near the cargo bay area. After restoring the cargo lift, use the kinesis ability to move the large containers blocking the path. The treasure statue rests near a storage unit on the lower platform, close to the shuttle bay. Once collected, it grants credits and unlocks the “There’s Always Peng!” achievement, marking one of the most valuable collectibles in the game.

The Peng treasure can be found in Chapter 11, “Alternate Solutions,” when Isaac is tasked with moving the Marker which requires him to engage the cargo crane. After entering the Cargo Bay in Hangar-Cargo-Tram Control, take the cargo lift down one floor. (You’ll pass through this area much earlier, but it’s before you pick up the Kinesis Module, so you can’t get to the locker.)

You’ll need to kill an Exploder Necromorph first, but immediately to Isaac’s left will be a small cluster of lockers partially obscured by a couple kinesis crates and a corpse. The Peng treasure is inside one the leftmost locker. It’s pretty easy to spot since there at least five Peng stickers stuck to it.

Here’s its location on the map:

How to sell the Peng treasure for credits

To sell the Peng treasure in Dead Space, head to any store kiosk on the USG Ishimura.

Selling Process

Access the store menu by interacting with a kiosk (blue holographic terminals scattered throughout chapters, like in trams or bays). Select the inventory tab, choose Peng’s Treasure, and confirm the sale for 30,000 credits instantly-no holding onto it needed, as it has no other use beyond the “There’s Always Peng!” achievement.โ€‹

The nearest post-collection store is typically right after Chapter 11’s Cargo Bay in the Hangar area, but kiosks appear frequently late-game.โ€‹

Where is the nearest store kiosk after Cargo Bay in Chapter 11

After picking up the Peng treasure in Chapter 11’s Cargo Bay (right after using Kinesis on the crates behind the cargo elevator), the nearest store kiosk is in the Flight Deck Tram Station.โ€‹

Directions from Cargo Bay

Return to the cargo elevator and ride it back up to the Tram Station Hallway. Follow the Locator toward the Hangar Bay, passing through the hall-expect minor Necromorph fights, but there’s a Stasis recharge nearby. The store is directly in the Flight Deck Tram Station en route to the Hangar elevator and Flight Lounge.

Use it to sell Peng for 30,000 credits before advancing to objectives like meeting Kyne or handling the Marker.โ€‹
