When is the next Iron Banner event in Destiny 2?

The next Iron Banner event in Destiny 2 is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10 AM PDT and will run for one week until May 27, 2025. Following that, Iron Banner will return again on June 17, 2025, continuing its tradition as a highly anticipated PvP event where Guardians can compete for exclusive weapons, armor, and Pinnacle rewards. This event typically lasts one to two weeks and features a rotation of game modes such as Control, Rift, and Eruption, with power level advantages disabled to ensure skill-based competition.

Iron Banner is next appearing for two weeks in the middle of Episode: Revenant’s third act, between Tuesday, Jan. 14., and Tuesday, Jan. 28, starting and ending at the usual weekly reset time.

This will be the final Iron Banner for Revenant. If you miss it, you’ll need to wait until a few weeks after Episode: Heresy launches on Feb. 4

What is changing in the next Iron Banner?

The next Iron Banner in Destiny 2 will see significant changes, most notably its extension from the traditional one-week event to a two-week duration. This change allows for a more relaxed grind, with each week featuring a different game mode: the first week will focus on Control, a king of the hill-style mode, while the second week will introduce Tribute, a mode similar to Supremacy where players collect crests dropped by defeated opponents. Additionally, the event will offer more rewards, including guaranteed Iron Banner weapons for wins and increased drop rates for weapons and engrams even on losses. Players will also benefit from reputation boosts when wearing Iron Banner gear, making it easier to rank up and customize weapon rolls.

The second Iron Banner of Revenant won’t offer any new rewards or game modes. However, the newest Iron Banner goodies that were added to the pool this episode – the Iron Intent armor sets, Tinasha’s Mastery stasis sidearm, and Archon’s Thunder stasis machine gun – will all still be available to earn. Here are the possible perk rolls for Tinasha’s Mastery and Archon’s Thunder (copied verbatim from Bungie.net):

  • Tinasha’s Mastery (Stasis Rocket Frame Sidearm)
    • Column 3: Air Trigger, Offhand Strike, Deconstruct, Enlightened Action, Impulse Amplifier, Loose Change, Reverberation
    • Column 4: Adagio, Bait and Switch, Chill Clip, Desperate Measures, Frenzy, One for All, Surrounded
  • Archon’s Thunder (Stasis High-Impact Machine Gun)
    • Column 3: Air Trigger, Enlightened Action, [REDACTED], Dynamic Sway Reduction, Envious Assassin, Fourth Times the Charm, High-Impact Reserves
    • Column 4: Desperate Measures, Onslaught, Headstone, Killing Tally, Tap the Trigger, Target Lock, Rewind Rounds

Will the 2025 Iron Banner schedule introduce new game modes or rewards

The 2025 Iron Banner schedule in Destiny 2 will not introduce new game modes or mechanics; the event will continue featuring its established PvP modes and challenges. However, players can expect exclusive rewards such as the Iron Intent armor sets and powerful weapons like Tinasha’s Mastery and Archon’s Thunder, along with Pinnacle gear obtained through daily Iron Banner challenges. While the gameplay remains familiar, the event retains its appeal through these coveted rewards and the ongoing competitive PvP experience across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Will the 2025 Iron Banner add new game modes or just rewards

The 2025 Iron Banner in Destiny 2 will not introduce entirely new game modes but will continue rotating existing Crucible modes such as Control, Rift, and Eruption, with each Iron Banner event featuring a specific mode for its duration. Notably, the event has expanded to a two-week format, with different game modes featured each week to add variety within the established framework. Alongside these mode rotations, Bungie is focusing on adding new rewards, including updated weapons like an enhanced version of Cimril’s Dagger and Claws of the Wolf pulse rifle, as well as making the grind for these rewards more accessible through reputation boosts and increased drop rates. Thus, the 2025 Iron Banner emphasizes new rewards and a longer event structure rather than introducing brand-new game modes.
