How to start the ’Nameless Village’ quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To start the “Nameless Village” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to speak with Captain Brant at the Tavern at night and ask him to tell you about the false Sovran. He will direct you to investigate the eastern edge of Vermund, where a mysterious shipment originated. From there, follow the quest marker far east of Vernworth, near the location of the Monster Culling quest. Prepare by bringing items like Salubrious Droughts, a Camping Kit, and a Ferrystone, then head out early in the morning. Navigate through wooded areas and climb rocks to find a secret path leading into the Nameless Village. Once inside, explore the village, talk to NPCs, and eventually reach the ruined manor at the top of the village to speak with the thief-maister, who will give you the Legend’s Opus scroll, advancing the quest.

After you complete Captain Brant’s “Monster Culling” quest, you’ll be able to start picking up more quests that focus on the palace intrigue. One of these comes when you ask Brant to “tell me of the false Sovran.” He’ll point you to an unnamed village on the eastern edge of Vermund.
How to get to the Nameless Village in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To reach the Nameless Village in Dragon’s Dogma 2, start by taking the northern exit from Vernworth and follow the main road eastward. After crossing a couple of bridges and reaching a fork, head south to bypass a large landslide blocking the direct path. This detour leads you through a wooded area and into the Eastern Forest. Look for a secret path by climbing to the top of some rocks in the forest, which will guide you directly into the Nameless Village. Be prepared to face a powerful foe like a Minotaur on the way. Once inside the village, explore carefully, talk to NPCs, and head to the ruined manor at the top of the hill to progress the quest and obtain key items like the Legend’s Opus.
In order to reach the Nameless Village, you’ll need to take a detour into the forest.
Backtrack to the nearby campfire and, facing the objective, look right. There’s a small gorge to the south of the road that leads through a lush forest covered in green moss.

The gorge is mainly straight as it cuts around the landslide, but to make sure you’re heading in the right direction, you can also head toward the banner marker on the minimap. On the main map, this area is labelled as the Eastern Forest.

This is a visually nice route to just appreciate, but you’ll have to pass a few camouflaged goblins, so keep an eye out. Keep heading east, staying south of the path as it’s marked on the map. After a short while, you’ll need to climb back out of the gorge where the rock is stepped enough to do so. That will lead you back to the path, on the other side of the blockage.
The quest marker on the minimap will have become the yellow search area by now, but heading directly towards it will only lead you to water, so go further east instead until you can follow the path around and into the Nameless Village. You’ll know you’re in the right place when an NPC warns you away.

The good news is that once you complete the quest here, the blockage on the path will automatically get cleared away, so you won’t need to go back through the Eastern Forest. You can just take the intended road to and fro.
How to finish the ’Nameless Village’ quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To finish the “Nameless Village” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, start by speaking with Captain Brant at the Tavern at night to gather intel on the false Sovran. Then, head east of Vernworth to find the hidden path leading into the Nameless Village. Explore the village, talk to NPCs, and head to the ruined manor at the top of the village to meet the thief-maister Flaude, who gives you the Legend’s Opus. Next, go down the ladder north of the manor into an underground passage with platforming challenges. After navigating this section, you reach the Thieves Guild where you talk to Srail, collect the Bill of Arrest, and loot chests. Finally, return to Vernworth and give the Bill of Arrest to Brant to complete the quest and receive the Dragon’s Gaze, which reveals Wakestones on your map.

Now that you’ve reached the Nameless Village, you’ve got a little more work to do. When you reach the large house at the top of the hill, you’ll meet a man who claims to be the Thief maister. He’ll give you a maister skill, but he won’t help with your investigation.

Head back outside and just a little to the northwest. There, you’ll find a ladder leading down into a hole in the ground.

Underground, you’ll have to tackle a couple platforming puzzles – basically just running and jumping across seesaws. At the far end, you’ll meet the real Thief maister, Srail. He’ll give you another maister skill and then give you everything you need to know about the false Sovran. Take it back to Brant to complete the “Nameless Village” quest.
