How many weapons are there in the Elden Ring DLC?
The Elden Ring DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” introduces a substantial arsenal of new weapons, adding 103 new weapons to the base game’s already extensive collection of over 300 weapons. This DLC also brings eight entirely new weapon categories, expanding the variety and combat options available to players. These new weapon types include Beast Claws, Backhand Blades, Great Katanas, and Perfume Bottles, among others, alongside new additions to existing weapon categories. Overall, players can expect to find a total of around 100 to 103 new weapons in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, significantly enriching the weaponry available for exploration and combat in Elden Ring.
Not including shields, there are 92 new weapons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Most of those weapons fall into pre-existing weapon families from the original game, but there are seven new weapon families that are unique to the DLC:
- Backhand Blades
- Perfume Bottles
- Throwing Blades
- Hand-to-Hand Arts
- Beast Claws
- Light Greatswords
- Great Katanas
Check out our region-by-region breakdown below to collect all 92 weapons in the Shadow Realm.
Gravesite Plain weapons
In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Gravesite Plain is the initial major area where players can find several unique and powerful weapons. Notable weapons here include the Horned Warrior’s Sword, located in the poisoned lake area of west Gravesite Plain, and the Greatsword of Solitude, obtained by defeating the Blackgaol Knight boss in the Western Nameless Mausoleum. The Beast Claw can be acquired by defeating the invader NPC Logur in the southern forests, while the Great Katana lies near the Ghostflame Dragon west of the Abandoned Ailing Village. Additionally, the Messmer Soldier Axe drops from Messmer Soldier enemies around the Castle Front encampment, and the Milady light greatsword is found atop a tower near Castle Ensis. These weapons offer a variety of playstyles and are essential for starting your journey in the Shadow Realm.
Gravesite Plain is the first major area in the Shadow Realm of the Lands Between, and it’s where you’ll start your journey in Shadow of the Erdtree. There are 22 unique weapons to be found here, from bosses, dungeons, and exploration.
Beast Claw

The Beast Claw drops for Logur, the Beast Claw, a mini-boss who hangs out in the Gravesite Plain woods.
Head east from your first site of grace and you’ll find Logur wandering around in the woods. If you get close, he’ll attack you. Take him down and you’ll earn his weapons.
Black Steel Greathammer

East of the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace, you’ll find the Church of Consolation. In a tent on the east side of the church, you’ll fight a Black Knight, who will drop the Black Steel Greathammer for you.
Note: If you’ve killed this knight but don’t have the Black Steel Greathammer, you may have encountered a bug that appeared in an older version of the game. There doesn’t seem to be any workaround for this, so you’ll need to get it on another playthrough.
Backhand Blade

The Backhand Bladeis northeast of the Scorched Ruins and southeast of the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace.
Just off the road, overlooking the river, you’ll see a small mausoleum. Walk up and into the stone pavilion and grab the sword from the pillar of light.
Greatsword of Solitude

In a single-room dungeon called Western Nameless Mausoleum, which is west of the Scorched Ruins in Gravesite Plain, you’ll face the Blackgaol Knight. Take him down and he’ll drop the Greatsword of Solitude.
Bone Bow

The Bone Bow is in Belurat, the castle on the west side of Gravesite Plain. Head through the dungeon until you reach the upper level, past the second site of grace.
Near where you can unlock an elevator shortcut back down to the first level, you’ll find a tower with a broken staircase. Inside this tower are two of the large scorpion spiders. Kill them and loot the body in the room to get the Bone Bow.
Curseblade’s Cirque

The Curseblade Cirque is one of three Backhand Blade weapons in Shadow of the Erdtree, and it’s a random drop from Curseblade enemies. You can find an easily accessible Curseblade just south of the Stagefront Site of Grace in Belurat.

When you reach the top of the tower, open the chest in front of you to get Milady.
Moonrithyll’s Knight Sword

Smithscript Dagger

Inside the Ruined Forge Lava Intake, a small dungeon to the southeast of Castle Ensis, you’ll find the Smithscript Dagger.
To reach this weapon, you’ll need to fight your way through stone giants and lava blobs until you reach the room with the massive pipe mechanism suspended in the ceiling. On the lower level of this room, tucked up against the wall, you’ll find the Smithscript Dagger on a body.
Anvil Hammer

The Anvil Hammer comes from the Ruined Forge Lava Intake dungeon, which is southeast of Castle Ensis.
Inside, make your way to the top floor and work your way into the room with the massive pipe mechanism. Use the lever to lower the mechanism into the lava and then jump onto it. Follow the pipe all the way to the top to find the Altar, which will give you the Anvil Hammer and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
