Unlock the secrets of Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 4 with the elusive Dr. Doom and Avengers Chests-special loot containers packed with rare weapons and healing items that can turn the tide of any battle. From the ominous Castle Doom to the bustling Doomstadt and the mysterious Raft, these chests are hidden in iconic Marvel-themed locations, guarded by henchmen and fiercely contested by players. Whether you’re hunting for powerful gear or aiming to complete quests, knowing exactly where to find these chests is your key to dominating the island’s latest challenges.
These huge loot chests are similar to ones we’ve seen in past seasons, like the faction chests or IO supply chests in Chapter 2. As expected from these harder-to-find big chests, they appear to reward more stuff than regular chests.
Below we explain where to find Dr. Doom Chests and Avengers Chests in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
Where to find Dr. Doom chests and Avengers chests
Dr. Doom chests in Fortnite are primarily found in the northern part of the map at key locations such as Castle Doom, Doomstadt, The Raft, and Doom’s Courtyard, with additional potential spawns at various dig sites guarded by henchmen. These chests are large, olive green with Dr. Doom’s logo, and contain rare and epic loot. Avengers chests, marked by a blue and silver design with the Avengers “A” logo, are more widespread and can be found at almost all named points of interest (POIs) except Doom’s Courtyard, including places like Rebel’s Roost, Grim Gate, Reckless Railways, and several others, as well as inside Weapon Bunkers scattered across the map. Both types of chests provide valuable gear and are often guarded, so players should be prepared for competition when seeking them out.
Your best bet to find these chests quickly is to drop on any points of interest. It doesn’t have to be one of the new four POIs (Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, Castle Doom, or The Raft), as we were able to find Avengers Chests at Reckless Railways, Sandy Steppes, and the Nitrodome.

If you drop at a POI and you don’t find a chest, just head to another one and hopefully you’ll strike gold. You can also find some chests in non-POI areas. For example, we found a Dr. Doom Chest a bit south of Grim Gate being protected by some NPC enemies.
If you’re just looking for this new gear (wow, that Captain America shield is kind of broken!), then we recommend dropping at the older POIs rather than the new ones that were added this season. Since players are eager to check out the new POIs, the older ones tend to be less crowded, so there’s less competition for grabbing loot and potentially getting eliminated.
We’re not 100% sure about the following being true, but based on our matches, Dr. Doom Chests spawned more frequently at the new POIs (Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, Castle Doom, and The Raft) and Avengers Chests appeared more at the older POIs.
Where are the most hidden Dr. Doom and Avengers chests in Fortnite
The most hidden Dr. Doom and Avengers chests in Fortnite are often found at specific, less obvious locations such as dig sites scattered across the map, where they are guarded by Doom’s henchmen but not heavily trafficked by players. These chests also spawn in the three main Doom-themed POIs-Castle Doom, Doomstadt, and The Raft-with Castle Doom hosting the highest number of Dr. Doom chests (six), making it a hotspot for rare loot. Additionally, Avengers chests are widespread and can be found in almost all named POIs except Doom’s Courtyard, as well as inside underground weapon bunkers that open during the third storm circle, offering a strategic but less crowded opportunity to find these special chests.
Which hidden spots around Doom’s Courtyard hide rare chests
Around Doom’s Courtyard, some of the rarest chests are actually hidden just outside the main area, notably between Doom’s Courtyard and the Old Mill, where you can find four Dr. Doom chests in quick succession. Additionally, rare chests can be unearthed by interacting with “shadow briefings” that spawn occasionally near Doom’s Courtyard; these briefings reveal buried rare chests that players must dig up to open. Another hidden spot includes underground weapon bunkers that open during the third storm circle, often containing multiple rare chests, although these bunkers are not always accessible early in the match. Notably, Avengers chests do not spawn inside Doom’s Courtyard itself but can be found in nearby locations and other named POIs.
