Ruins of Unte location in Elden Ring DLC

The Ruins of Unte in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are located in the depths of the Scadu Altus region, southeast of Shadow Keep, within the Castle Watering Hole area. To reach them, players must first find a secret coffin beneath the main plaza of Shadow Keep by navigating through a hidden passage behind a waterfall and interacting with an illusory wall. Entering the coffin teleports players to the area near the Ruins of Unte. The entrance to the ruins is initially blocked by a dormant Furnace Golem, which can be moved by throwing a hefty furnace pot onto it from an elevated position or bypassed by jumping over a southeastern wall ledge. Inside, players can find valuable items such as the Giant Golden Arc Incantation and the Stone-Sheathed Sword.

The Ruins of Unte are located to the southeast of Shadow Keep.

To reach the Ruins of Unte, you’ll need to do the following:

  2. Turn around and ride the elevator down.
  3. Turn left at the corner and follow the pathway to find a ladder leading to a lower level on your left.
  4. Descend the ladder and enter the pathway behind the waterfall to find another ladder.
  5. Go down the ladder to find a wall on your right that has two torches.
  6. Hit the area between the two torches to reveal an illusionary wall.

How to get into the Ruins of Unte

To get to the Ruins of Unte in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, start at the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace inside Shadow Keep. From there, turn around and take the elevator down, then follow the path to find a ladder leading to a lower level on your left. Descend the ladder and proceed behind a waterfall to find another ladder. Go down this ladder to reach a room with an illusory wall flanked by two torches; strike the wall to reveal a hidden passage. Follow it to a coffin, interact with it, and you will be teleported to the area near the Ruins of Unte in the depths of Scadu Altus. The ruins are guarded by a dormant Furnace Golem blocking the entrance, which you can either move by throwing a hefty furnace pot onto it or bypass by jumping over the southeastern wall.

There are two ways of getting into the Ruins of Unte: moving the Furnace Golem or jumping over the southeastern wall. Let’s break them down.

How to move the Furnace Golem in front of the Ruins of Unte

  1. Get onto the balcony of the northwestern building.
  2. Throw a hefty furnace pot into the Furnace Golem to awaken it.
  3. Defeat the Furnace Golem or head inside of the Ruins of Unte.

With the Furnace Golem awake, you’re free to enter the Ruins of Unte and collect the Giant Golden Arc Incantation from the chest and alter your Stone-Sheathed Sword at the altar.

How to jump into the Ruins of Unte

On the southeastern corner of the Ruins of Unte, you’ll notice a little divot in the wall. This section of the wall is normally unreachable, but there is a little cheesy strategy of getting in:

  1. Double-jump onto the tiny ledge of the southeastern pillar.
  2. Double-jump over to the divot in the wall to enter the Ruins of Unte.

With this method, you can collect all of the rewards inside without having to deal with the Furnace Golem!

What secret path leads to the Ruins of Unte in Elden Ring

The secret path to the Ruins of Unte in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree begins inside the Shadow Keep. From the Storehouse First Floor Site of Grace, you descend an elevator, turn left, and follow a path to a ladder leading down behind a waterfall. After climbing down another ladder, you find a wall with two torches; striking the area between them reveals an illusory wall. Beyond this hidden passage, you enter a room with a stone coffin. Interacting with the coffin teleports you to the Castle Watering Hole area in the depths of Scadu Altus, right by the Ruins of Unte.

To get inside the Ruins themselves, you must deal with a dormant Furnace Golem blocking the entrance. You can either awaken it by throwing a Hefty Furnace Pot into its basket to make it move aside or use a skillful jump over the southeastern wall’s divot to bypass the golem entirely.

What is the significance of hitting the wall between two torches in Unte

Hitting the wall between the two torches in the Shadow Keep reveals an illusory wall, which opens a hidden passage leading to a new hallway and ultimately to a stone coffin.
