The Lucky Trinket is a magical one-use item that allows you to instantly turn one of your friends into a Lucky Friend. This works even if you’re not Best Friends yet, so long as you are at least Great Friends already.
This means that you can pretty much select and choose who to have a Lucky Trade with, guaranteeing at least decent stats and the reduced Stardust upgrade cost with the Pokémon you trade. After using the item and completing the trade, the Lucky status with your friend will disappear, as per usual with Lucky Trades.
The Lucky Trinket will not allow you to trade with faraway friends and you can’t use the Lucky Trinket on friends who are already lucky.
If you don’t want people to use the trinket on you, you can also disable this option in your settings.
How to get a Lucky Trinket in Pokémon Go
To obtain a Lucky Trinket in Pokémon Go, you must reach the final reward tier of the current event’s GO Pass Deluxe, which is typically a paid track similar to a battle pass. For example, during the Go Tour: Unova event, players needed to reach Rank 100 on the Tour Pass Deluxe to receive the Lucky Trinket. This item is also featured in other event passes, such as the June 2025 GO Pass, where it is granted as the ultimate reward in the Deluxe track. Once acquired, the Lucky Trinket allows you to instantly become Lucky Friends with any Great Friend or higher, guaranteeing your next trade with them will result in Lucky Pokémon, but the trinket is a one-time-use item and has a set expiration date, so it must be used promptly.
A chunk of lucky players (no pun intended) have been granted the Go Pass: April battle pass, allowing them to score another Lucky Trinket. You can accumulate points for the pass until May 6 at 10 a.m. in your local time and the rewards will continue to be claimable until May 8 at 10 a.m.
This Lucky Trinket will expire on May 11 at 11:59 p.m. in your local time, so make sure to use it before then. You don’t need to complete the trade itself before this time, but you do have to pick a friend to turn lucky and use the actual trinket.
Lucky Trinkets have been available three times now, though not to all players. The previous Lucky Trinket drops were the following:

- The in-person Go Tour: Unova event pass at rank 40
